I know this could be a rumor, but we also got to know that Wei Yan’s first love was actually Lady Qi which probably a princess from a royal family. Maybe that’s why he hates Qi family so much and he plotted on killing the crown prince and putting puppet emperor may be related to his own revenge and aim for power.
I guess I’m the minority who didn’t feel anything about Deng Kai’s performance as villain. I mean yeah, Qi Min is heartless villain, but I don’t find his acting super extra that deserved high recognition. Not saying he’s a bad actor, but to me he’s just like any other villain character out there. He nailed the character, but that’s just it.
To me, Li Mu Ran as Yuanqing has more nuances and depth in his acting, like heck I was feeling a bit sorry for him at the end when he cried out about his Mother consort and how he couldn’t bring himself to kill his ‘brother.’ I have to remind myself that he’s evil and he massacred Lia’an village to make me stop feeling sorry about him.

Because previews are released officially on the official platforms. There’s nothing wrong to talk about previews. The clips are all over social media too and it’s common in cdrama to release teasers/preview for episodes ahead. Even in kdrama, we have the preview for next ep and people discuss about it in mdl comment section.
