Still falls onto generic drama.

I watched this drama and somehow FL was quite weaker and more humane than first version. While First version shows Japanese Heroine optimistic style FL this one still leans on to generic weak duanju FL while still possessing ambitious studious girl. FL was more weak heart than first version because she stills believe her mom and evil brothers. This drama dont show redemption to FL family which make me unsatisfied. Wang Qian acting stills decent but somehow she is not memorable which is make me forgetting i had watch other Lim Siwang version more than Zhang Yinfei version.

Recommended if you are fans of actress.

Nonsense drama

I watched this last yar since i like Teng Zewen and having drama marathon for her. Not a fans of Tian Xuning acting and i feel his expression in here is so unnatural and the acting is so obvious. The chemistry actually barely exist despite few good kiss scene but the plot is utterly nonsense. The emotion feels so lacking. But for the anti-climax is the few last episode. I just saying what the hell was going on?
For simple summary, FL was mute and ML hates her. ML has amnesia and having mistaken FL identity to SFL(typical plot). ML tortures FL since FL is ML secretary and use her to get leverage for his client. Anything ML did has no redemption. For some reason ML got intimate with FL and FL was pregnant with ML son, makes SFL angry and she scheme with SML to harm FL baby. ML got his memory back when FL wants to divorce him. FL loses his baby and the rest is wife chasing which doesn't looks sincere for me.
Supporting casts acting was questionable especially SML like his existence are just suddenly appear and make everything messier than actual story,

Wont recommend this drama even you have low tension.

Male Torture drama~ Yee~ Haw~

I watched Yuan Yuhan and Liu Xiaoxu drama since LXX recent drama with the FL was not to my liking and realized it was on my shelves for long time. I only dared to watch it because I heard it was supposed to be a male lead-torture drama. I genuinely can't watch dramas that torment FL now. I originally thought it would be a typical chasing wife drama, but it turned out to be a memoir of a deceased wife, since the FL dies in episode seven. The rest is all about ML gradually discovering the truth. To be honest, I don't pity the ML at all . Some people think he was also deceived, but five years he couldn't see the FL's sincerity for five years. Based on that alone, he doesn't deserve her love. Even if he didn't like FL, after the SFL caused her miscarriage and lifelong infertility, he still said such hurtful things to her, which shows he wasn't a good person to begin with. So I think his ending is quite good; he deserved it. For FL's perspective, I genuinely hope her rebirth later on is real. She's suffered so much; I truly feel sorry for her and hope she can get the love she craves. Or, if she didn't die, SML could heal her later—he's really good person.

I don't have mood for watching tragic dramas, but I watched it entirely for Liu Xiaoxu and Yuan Yuhan's acting. Yuan Yuhan doesn't have many scenes; most of the later ones are Liu Xiaoxu's solo performance, a true acting showcase! Liu Xiaoxu is amazing. Of course, Yuan Yuhan's crying scenes are also superb, personally i quite like this pairing since they have wide range of acting.

If you are on mood for torturing yourself with tragic drama, this drama is your answer.

Plot was more refined and comedy aspect are too strong

Although i hated some of popular adaptation of this drama, sometimes i never realized if i am masochist or someone who looks for perfect version. Actually this version was not bad compared to the popular one. The plot is rich and the pacing is tight. The first 40 episodes are excellent, packed with laughs and incredibly sweet. ML speaks earliest from all the version and has the most dialogue, and his character development is the most natural, with the most detailed transformation. It's not a melodramatic story where he suddenly becomes talkative after a couple of jealous moments or when saving FL. The little skits between ML and his mother, Wang, even have a sequel, which is quite entertaining (Huang Shuaishuai actually got wit skill even not like Sun Yue but i quite like his antics).

Another duanju problem they got good pacing and somehow in the middle the plot is disjointed not sure if the scriptwriter have changed or its a norm. The pacing of the last 40 episodes slows down a bit, and the plot feels somewhat disjointed. Although the story is the most complete, resolving the conflict between the two younger brothers, the resolution feels simplistic and childish, leaving "huh?" feeling. ML's character is as perfect as ever—gentle, considerate, and easily appeased. FL, however, starts strong but declines a bit. She's intelligent and understanding in the beginning, but suddenly becomes less intelligent and lacks boundaries in the middle FL character transformation was quite unnatural.. She's completely oblivious to and ignores ML's obvious jealousy. If ML and FL were in the same position, this would be a major flaw. It seems that female-oriented content is more forgiving of FL. The lead actors' performances are solid, especially FL. SFL, who also rose to prominence, delivers a very good performance, bringing her character to life. She comes across as genuinely cute and talkative, not just noisy. ML has a good physique and is generous. Even the younger brother's eyebrow acting is superb (laughs).

The good things the villains screentime is minimal so its quite full comedy, recommended to watch.

Lin Qiting was sole reason i watch this.

I watched this drama long time ago for Lin Qiting sake since i quite like her show even in her Male oriented drama. Wang Qian Shuo acting sometimes hit and miss for me and this is the sole reason i quite lazy to make review for this drama and end up rewatching for memory reminisce and it still decent drama afterall.

Lin Qiting always plays smart FL (this is one of her charm). At first, I thought she was weak and always bullied by her younger sister and SML, requiring MLto protect her. But actually, she had already guessed ML's identity, yet she didn't expose him and let him play around—she's quite doting and understanding quite different from other show.

Wang Qian Shuo performance in this drama was okay to watch but not on his best nor his worst. He plays younger brother ML well but some of his scene was stiff but i forgive him since ML was not to overbearing like general duanju formula.

The antagonist is quite old school style and the actor who played SML delivers.

Recommended to watch if you have nothing to watch or want to see Lin Qiting on her dominant character.

Good Kisses with no harmony

I watched this since i have nothing to review due lack of duanju updates in MDL and personally there is many good kisses from both of the lead (Well, it's Zhang Shan) but it lack harmony (it feels they only doing good kissing without any feeling involvement and it's so textbook acting from Zhao Guanyu) but the relationship growth between the lead was quite consistent. Huang Xingrou successfully make my blood boils as usual since his character was quite stupid narcissistic husband. The plot is quite well-written and ML grandparent was quite refreshing character. I dont like SML grandfather in here he is quite passive manipulative person. Not to mention SFL was quite annoying and her acting was too old school type. It stills have generic traits of duanju (Kidnapping, Mistaken Identity) so for someone who hates usual script of duanju you can skip this.

Only recommended since it has good kissing scenes.

Still okay to watch.

I actually watch few version and have lukewarm opinion about the script. This version takes a slightly bittersweet approach. FL is adorable and well-behaved. ML stills good match for FL. In this version, ML's family background isn't as bad, and he admits his mistakes quickly. There are many interactions between the ML and FL; the male lead dotes on and loves the female lead, even saying during their breakup, "Why didn't she play the long game? Why didn't she overcome her difficulties before dumping him?" She even blamed herself for not being there for her during her painful period. The chemistry between Li Ya Ya and Li Ke Le are still passable to watch but not to make your heart fluttering. Still recomended if you dont really like angst and bittersweet drama.

I feel embarrassed for Chai Chai

I watching this on last year and actually the premises was interesting and the most unfortunate case on this drama was Male Lead performance. I feel he reluctant since he is rookie and made the chemistry are too awkward. If you mentioning kissing scene it feels like FL is kissing the wood. I am not having with the dub. And this is obviously on budget drama.

Watch on own your risk.

For some reason it it reminds me for indie film rather than duanju.

I watched this drama thanks to Tiktok advertisement and not really regret my choice. The topic is about older woman young man romance and this is one of the best one in duanju. I afraid this is most notable Wu Tian Hao and Lin Zixuan works. The cast team is doing gods works; excellent; the FL truly embodied a 29-year-old career woman, and ML resembled a 19-year-old young rich heir. I don't really buy the romance in this drama but the ambiguity wins me but i don't really want them to be together, This is the reason i give this drama 7 ratings.

The director team is the best; the production quality is even better than some long dramas. The switching between long and short shots, and the subtle camera movements during scene transitions, are all incredibly skillful. I am not pro at videography but this drama has some indie film feels rather than usual duanju.

The plot was relatable, a rare find in short dramas with normal price levels and a realistic legal system. ML was a cunning, slightly naive heir to a wealthy family, while FL was a cunning, powerful female lawyer. Their age and social status created many problems, which they resolved, but throughout the series, they remained true to their hearts and steadfastly chose each other. It was a mutually supportive relationship between an older woman and a younger man.

Recommended if you like the logical plot about older woman and young man.

FL revenge was quite efficient

I watched this because of Chen Si and Jia Yixuan and it was actually decent drama but for some reason i put this drama on shelf and rewatch again for better review

A pure sweet drama disguised as a revenge story. ML actually know he's being schemed against but still insisting on spoiling FL trope is incredibly charming. The kissing scenes are frequent and intense, and the emotional entanglement is more captivating than the revenge plot. It's a very comfortable drama to watch as background sweetness. The kisses was alright and the first scene was quite padded kisses for me.

The plot is relatively complete, tight, and logically clear and smooth. ML and FL are both well-developed. ML is love-struck, although there's the trope of FL saving ML when he was a child (that trope is generic, but it makes sense, because otherwise how could people from different social circles easily get to know each other?). That's why ML likes and helps FL but his love for her is genuine. FL knew how to use ML's love and power to defeat the bad guys one by one, and she also recognized his good qualities, gradually falling in love with ML.

ML recognized FL their first meeting, secretly investigated her identity, and learned about her past, which led to his repeated help to her. FL is intelligent and resourceful. Although she initially wanted to take revenge through a man's power, she is quite smart compare to other character in another drama.

This drama like unflavored Mung Bean Soup

I watched this since i liked Shu Tong acting. Plot is about FL's parents die in a car accident. To investigate the cause of death, she deliberately gets close to the ML, hoping to use him to uncover the truth. During their time together, the ML unconditionally supports her, doting on her like a father, and the two are mutually devoted.

The plot avoids exaggerated or melodramatic elements, and the romance develops naturally without dragging. Shu Tong and Zhai Yiying deliver solid performances and are quite compatible; their crying scenes and eye acting are particularly moving. The characters are likable: FL is intelligent, resourceful, and alert, while ML is powerful, capable, and meticulous. Their relationship has a push-and-pull dynamic, like an innocent rabbit and a cunning old fox, but they communicate effectively, trust each other, act side-by-side, and their feelings are mutual. It's a pity about ML's older brother; I initially thought he was a bad guy, but he turns out to be quite nice.

The downside is weak script. The revenge story with a gangster background only has a framework; the case is just a verbal investigation, and the tragic backstory is just a verbal recounting. There's not much plot to drive the emotional development; it's just a simple piling up of romance. Overall, this drama feels like mung bean soup without flavor. My expectations were too high, and I was a slightly disappointed.

Still recommend to watch though.

Quite decent drama.

I watched this because of Hou Cheng Yue and have nothing to watch and realized the ML was Li Ruoxun. Speaking of ML character, he's really green tea-faced, competitive, and manipulative guy. He's quite interesting. He starts by boasting to the FL, calls her brother "brother," and acts all cute and pitiful. FL is brave and resourceful, a true general, and should go to the vast land to conquer and realize her ambitions For the romance chemistry, i feel they are kind lack on that think but i quite like other playful dynamic from the leads.

There's no reincarnation or time travel thing, be assured. The main plot of this drama is FL abandons the SML, and the SML and his mother reap what they sow. FL mistakes her savior for someone else, falls in love with the SML, and plans everything for him. The arrival of SFL leads FL to abandon SML. ML returns and proposes to FL, but she never agrees. In the finale, she only accepts ML. FL lets go very decisively, but SML keeps pestering her with his inexplicable confidence, while the ML keeps proposing to her, which she always refuses, finally accepting him in the end.

Worth watching if you're looking for something to watch.

My exact question: People loves agonizing story, huh?

This drama is perfect example they live in their 2023 mind. Agonizing love when FL wasted their precious time to someone useless.

FL is miserable from beginning to end. "Gentle yet resilient" = weak but incredibly hardworking, her resilience is all used for enduring hardship. ML really has a white moonlight (ideal love), and he only has a whirlwind marriage with the FL because he thinks she looks like his white moonlight. He says he doesn't love SFL anymore, but his actions contradict his words. Between his white moonlight and FL, ML always chooses the white moonlight Classic favor outsourcing: the male lead owes his white moonlight a favor, outsourcing it to the FL to force her to back down.

Not watching it was the right decision. i made the wrong decision. You need to do another thing beside watching this.

Another generic plot with okay ending

I watched this last year because of advertisement. The plot is indeed generic trop, ML and FL were spouse with her son but SFL comes to ML and badmouthing FL, FL tolerated him 3 times and told her son if ML never prioritize them. They will leave her dad yadda-yadda. She resigned from ML company and started new life. ML realized FL and her son are gone and pretend to be good person. In the end her own son called ML uncle since he never cared about him. ML and his hypocrisy are so annoying to watch. Both leads acting are okay but not making them engraved. I enjoy this but i don't want to rewatch anymore.

AnotherK-drama " When the Phone Call" from shein

I mainly watch this to see Liu Xiaoxu's acting and this is another when the phone calls from Shein. I don't like Cheng Zi portrayal of FL since she was not believable when she pretends to be mute. In some scenes, she clearly couldn't keep up with her co-star and there is no chemistry between them.

Indeed, many details of this version's plot are more logically reasonable, and the causes and consequences are finally clear. The characters' motivations are very consistent with the settings, the transitions are smooth, and the bugs in the original Korean drama can be completely ignored.

The plot is more dramatic and complex, with very strong dramatic conflicts. At the same time, the melodrama factor has also skyrocketed. The "one-night stand token (fake) mistake trope": in fact, ML knew from the beginning that FL was an imposter. The "pretending to be mute" part FL witnessed ML's father murdering the mothers of the two women when she was a child, so she chose not to speak.

For Hardcore fans only.
