yeah i get what you mean. i think they do have a specific formal way of sitting that he would know already (yai and jom mirror each other for instance when they interact with the monk), but imo he does adapt to servitude pretty quickly which was a little odd.

it’s pretty mild here compared to twitter 😁 but umm they could’ve done both… charged for the screening and then released it online and made fans pay for it there too. imo they’re dumb for not letting most fans see it now while the hype is still there.
now this is a great sequel. kiyoi is a revelation this season! his love for hira is written all over his face - that softness, shyness and devotion... god yagi yusei you killed it. he improved his acting so much. also i loved anna and koyama as well. they are such good friends and support systems to hira and kiyoi.
this took me all year to finish this show which says it all really. i struggled through 4 episodes back in march and lost all motivation to continue. i really hyped this before it aired and it was just so disappointing. best thing about this mess was net. at least he tried to act 😭 + he is how i envision king from the novel at least. but honestly wasn’t a fan of james’ acting here. definitely it was a challenging role but imo he was just too stiff most of the time.
towards the end i was watching on 1.5x speed - the editing was getting on my nerves, it was really dragging and i couldn’t tolerate the awkward long pauses in between the dialogue anymore 😅 i think i will skip middleman’s love completely bc i cannot stand cheewin’s directing or the script here. they did not do justice to the novel at all.
