Guys is there romance in this drama? And if so, how much? Thanks.
the central romance hasn't actually kicked off yet - there is a love triangle but the main focus so far is on the power struggle and pil joo's revenge.

Okay, my crush on Choi Daniel is on high alert after that last episode. "Stay with me." HELP! He was so lovely…
<333333 this comment is as cute as the show!! ia with everything you said. the clark kent/lois lane stuff makes me swoon omg. my dream ending is chi won returning to his old job and asking yoon yi to join him.

i feel like the necklace was PPL but i loved it anyway - we need an epilogue of him choosing it for her. omg he really is an absolute goner already lol. everything he did in this episode screamed that he likes her. i think the next episodes will be about the bba and their victory (her ex boss needs an even bigger smackdown, he is scum) and hopefully we'll get the kiss after that. *prays*

you're so right about him being impulsive. he seems detached but when he really feels, he seems to act without thinking. i read a few commenters awhile ago not liking yoon-yi and calling her manipulative, but i totally disagree. i love that she goes after what she wants and i love the way she tries to bend him to her will (like in this ep when she refuses to give him the key). he's clearly impressed with her tenacity. it's so cuuuute. (it's also a sharp contrast to her relationship with her previous boss, where he basically just used her and she did everything she was told). the tenant/landlord relationship is a genius answer to the power imbalance of their working relationship.

Why does it take so long to sub the episodes?
it's being subbed by hard working fans on viki. 3&4 are fully subbed now, a day is not a long time to wait for subs.

Sounds new and interesting, and she’s not even that bad y’all exaggerate way too much
i don't think she's a bad actress, but she really lacks versatility imo.

i'm with you on this entire list basically. the only one i didn't drop was one i didn't try (she was pretty remake) bc sitting through the original was bad enough. chicago typewriter is really weird bc it sounds great on paper, but i totally hated it. the writing is insufferable. suspicious partner is one of the dumbest show i've seen all year. even dongha couldn't save it. temperature of love assembled a great cast who you feel nothing for. flimsy character archetypes cannot carry a whole story.

I'm all in for Pil Joo/Mo Hyun (even though it's so messed up, I feel so bad for Mo Hyun already) but I'm also fascinated by Jang Mal Ran and Pil Joo's twisted relationship. She's his ultimate target in his revenge (although I really want him to make that old bastard suffer too, I hate the Chairman) and she totally seems obsessed with him - her freakout in the car when she says that it's ridiculous that he could be Yun Cheon because she knows everything about him really makes it obvious. She relies on him far too much - to sort out all the Cheong A shit, to be unfailingly loyal towards Boo Cheon and to comfort her when the Chairman tries to crush her. She even said to Boo Cheon that he should accept a future relationship between Pil Joo and Mo Hyun (I love how everybody knows he has feelings for Mo Hyun, he ain't subtle lol) but when it comes down to it I doubt she will be happy about it either, yikes. It's gonna get sooooo messy.

It seems too early for her to find out his true identity and Pil Joo knows that she's onto him so I can't imagine that he wouldn't have anticipated her ordering a DNA test.

when i first started watching dramas i used to try everything in case i was missing out on potential gems. but now i gravitate towards dramas i know i will enjoy (if the execution and acting aren't any good, i drop it quickly) and no longer trust my fave actors to choose dramas that will be worthwhile. i know very few writers that are consistently good enough to follow their works diligently.

i give shows around 3 episodes to grab me - if i see potential i continue. another test is to see if i find the show as a whole engaging, and not just the central storyline. if you're bored with characters and plots that are extraneous to the main impetus of the story, best thing to do is drop it. i ain't got time for filler. (i finished swdbs but never again. never again).

i think one of the reasons i keep watching shows i don't rly like is bc ppl keep going on about how good they are. i lasted 5 episodes of goblin for the cast and the hype. was it worth continuing when i could be watching smth that isn't so goddamn slow and bloated with ppl? no. i won't be watching a kim eun sook drama ever again, that's for sure. i have a huge backlog and actual good shows to finish, i need to make better use of my time lol.

Why writer Myung-hee is popular? All of her dramas lack something...
her earlier dramas are much better than her last 3? shows imo

The chemistry is great - but I feel so disconnected from the characters in this despite the fantastic cast. :(

Is Jung Woo really going to propose via a huge event organised by his best friend that's in relationship with the woman he's in love with??? Is he completely nuts? This show pretends that it's so realistic but this storyline (and Jung Woo's entire character, really) is straight up lifted from an early 2000's drama. Why is this still a thing? I really hope the writer is just messing with us and it won't actually happen.

I may dislike Hong-ah, but when she asked Jung Woo what he's been doing for the past 5 years I wanted to give her a round of applause (and her eyeroll when he shut her down was hilarious and spot on). KJW is great as always, but god his character is so ridiculous.

(Also don't even get me started on how much power Jung Woo has over both of their careers. It's scary).

What I really loved about this was that for a kdrama melo, there was so much restraint in the execution (despite quite a few makjang elements) and tenderness to the love story. I credit this to the PD and writer. But also the main trio gave such genuine and heartfelt performances, especially Uee, who was just magnificent. This was such a challenging role for a young actress and she pulled it off flawlessly. I'm quite harsh with my ratings but there no way I couldn't give this a high rating - it really deserves it and I wish more people would give this show a chance.

I find it unbelievable that this is from the writer of Misaeng/Arang. I would expect this lazy, cringey script from a rookie writer. I totally expected dodgy acting (Im Joo Hwan predictably being the only saving grace so far) but I didn't expect the script to be this bad.

So Ah, a psychiatrist? What a joke. She has about as much credibility as a doctor as NJH does playing a god.

Nigeru Wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu is a great drama - it's very well written with a great supporting cast but for some reason it's my least favourite Gakki pairing and out of the two, my heart lies with Zenkai Girl. It's absolutely adorable and one of my personal favourite jdrama rom-coms imo - it blends rom-com shenanigans with family drama very well and both leads are wonderful.

A guy is interrogated for murder and they are talking about gastronomic food mmh + he shows up in the middle of…
yeah that scene descended into farcical territory for me. it was too ridiculous. she did tell him to get out at one point but i have no idea why anyone let him spout a load of crap without forcibly removing him from the interrogation room.
