Ok, 4 episodes in. As someone who read the novel, watched the shoe-string budget 1st adaptation of the novel, I must say, this is so well done! The casting is absolutely on point, ESPECIALLY with Chi Cheng. Chi Cheng's character in the novel is literally like a King Cobra. Languid, seemingly ambivalent, but deeply territorial and very Dangerous. He wants what he wants, and he will coil around his prey without them ever knowing it. Wu SouWei is charming in his innocence, he is clever, but he is also naive and the actor is playing it just right. He is likeable, funny, but never annoying or grating. Can't wait for more episodes!
He truly deserves the TOP spot in the Younger generation of actors. There is this sincerity in his eyes and work that I truly adore. AND a fellow G-Dragon fan, is always WELCOME in my heart. Thank you for summarizing some of him! Between him and Zhang Ling He and of course, Dylan, I am looking forward to CDramas more and more.
I am shocked. Poor Saif Ali Khan. It is very frightening if even a Khan is in danger. I hope his wife and kid…
The assailant actually went into his kid's room first. and the Nanny raised an Alarm. SAK came into the room and had an altercation with the assailant head on and was stabbed six times, the assailant escaped, and SAK's son came to take him to the hospital. The Man walked into the hospital by himself, bleeding and leaking spinal fluid and the knife still sticking out of him. He is out of danger now, and recovering. But imagine if the assailant had gotten his hands on one of the kids... Kareena was staying over at her sister's that night. I cannot imagine the scare the whole family must have had and how lucky he was, to have survived the attack. This is no child's play. With growing celebrity culture and social media being a window into everyone's life, the dangers grow more and more severe. Safety should never be taken lightly. Life is precious, be it yours or a celebrity's
This all is just BS ..are you willing to believe you can track a person's flights ... Such sensitive information…
You literally proved my point. Yes if they know the projects he is working on and shows he is going to appear on, they can easily figure out the flights he is going to take. The companies and agencies keep their fans updated with all this info. How do you think an artists whole arsenal of fans turn up to greet them at show and award venues nationally and internationally? Have you never been in a fandom? There are whole fan cafes dedicated to this alone. But then some fans take it too far and it's gross and INSANE, that is the whole point. It is easily done, and is extremely wrong. Do you have issues with comprehension?
This all is just BS ..are you willing to believe you can track a person's flights ... Such sensitive information…
Errr... are you sure about that? All a stalker fan has to do is figure out his work schedule i.e. Shows, concerts, broadcast, shooting location, and where he is going to fly from where and check flights that correspond with those dates and destinations and viola, you can know the potential flights they can take and from there, since you are already a stalker and have nothing better to do with your life, you just wait at the airport for boarding of those flights.
The way some people here are obsessively commenting under every post , defending the Sasaeng behavior he is addressing and bashing him for asking for something that is his basic human right is giving me Chills!
Also how un-hinged are you to compare a baby animal following you home to a grown-ass human doing that, just imagine, a grown human, behaving weirdly, followed you home and then kept doing that day in day out and camped out on the side walk of your home. And kept following you everywhere. And called your family, friends, and your colleagues at odd hours at night, begging them to make you speak to them.
It's precisely because he is not a super-duper star that this problem is harming him. He does not have an army of security people to keep him in a safe parameter. Not like Amitabh Bachchan or SRK or RajniKanth or Salman Khan has. Look how Saif Ali Khan did not have enough security and someone got into his house and STABBED him 6 times just 2 days ago.
One of these days, one of these fans will grow angry at him for complaining or dating someone or not paying them attention and falling in love with them like they have with him, and grow a grudge against him and do him actual harm. It's happened so many times before, we don't need a replay do we? This is not something to call celebrity bullshit on. This is a real concern. His fame does not mean he does not have the right to feel safe stepping out of his house. Not everyone has the mental fortitude to deal with stalkers all the time.
Also it's not rocket science to figure out a celebrity's flight schedule. If you know their schedule and where they are going to go, you can easily figure out which flight they are going to be on, from there it is just a waiting game. I have been in a Kpop fandom long enough to know how easy that is, especially for domestic fans. Also there are people in airport staff that can leak that kind of info for a price. Which again is a privacy breach and criminal, but it still happens all the time and many times without the artist's consent. The point is, you need to know your limits. And it's a fandom's responsibility to prioritize their Artist's well-being first and foremost. The ones who deserve to get pointed and called out on their bullshit and exposed are such stalkers and Sasaengs.
Zhang Ling He is one of my favorite up-and-comers in Cdramaland. I hope and pray for his safety.
I don't want to watch when the phone rings before it's complete, but it's so tempting! So here I am! Going to watch this AGAIN... It's so good, it should keep me at bay!
was there only 20 episodes or were there 40 episodes?because on some other websites it only has 20 episodes..
Hi Trish. If the 20 episodes are hour-long, then that means the drama is complete. Because 40 episodes mentioned here are 30 minute long, they do that sometimes with Primetime Kdramas, split one episode into 2 parts and air it in the same time slot, something to do with adverts or regulation, I am not entirely sure. So if the 20 episode are 60 mins long, go ahead.
I haven't watched the end of this Drama yet, not because it's bad or anything, but because this Drama is really good... and I don't want to be done with it. It's brutal, emotionally and I love every second of it. It's very well directed and the twists and turns the story takes really make your heart do the flips. But what I love the most is the message of RESISTANCE towards total despair, we all need some of that in the current times we live in. For a drama that I started to watch just because I would watch anything our Pretty Cha Eunwoo is in, this turned out to make an aching mess of my heart. I am so proud of Eunwoo, he truly does justice to a very complicated and subtly emotive character. KUDOS. It's my first Drama with Kim Namjoo, and she really owns this character. She is sad, betrayed yet kind and brave and absolutely owns all those emotions.
There are a lot of very infuriating and annoying characters, but that's to be expected in a drama full of palace…
THIS! What you said about her match with Zhang Zhe is so spot on.!She admires him for his righteousness, but could she ever be well-matched to a person who is that righteous? No. She has a naturally cunning and manipulative side, which she will either hide or suppress to her detriment. People who think Zhang Zhe would have been better for Ning'er than Xie Wei miss this major point. You put it perfectly!
This drama has been quite a journey for me. Even after watching over half of the episodes, I'm still scratching…
Later episodes will turn things around, this drama is really interesting in that way. The slow burn here, is TRULY SLOW BURN. The seeds for their ultimate coupling are slowly being sowed, and it culminates nicely. Of course, this drama suffers from the Drama format regulations and censorship rules that were introduced when this was in post production. I think they had to reduce some episodes to make it under 40 episodes, but they did well with what they had. I like it especially for the fact that it really takes it slow with the Main couple's romance because it feels like this Drama is more about their characters and how they change through out the story than the actual romance itself. The main couple's romance seems more like a Result of the changes they went through as people. And so it makes so much more sense and has more depth in my humble opinion.
That Cake-slathered Kiss in HISTORY3:Trapped and now This honey-laddled love scene in this series.
UNFORGETTABLE.
