I really think this one should come to Netflix. More people will know about this one, one of the very best Melodrama from pre-2015/2016 era

It's a really, really Enjoyable show. With the pacing and phenomenal chemistry between pretty much all the major and supportive characters. It didn't really overdo the emotional heartrending scenes and really didn't make the ML turn out to be a genius who doesn't do any mistakes. On the contrary, he is a very competent who makes mistakes here and there and that's how just investigation works in real life, at least in that aspect. There are some plot armors which is actually considered a part of a show that has Drama in American tv series, however, K-dramas are predominantly Dramas themselves by genre, so I don't really mind it that much. This type of element makes a show like this more enjoyable compared to it otherwise would have been.
So far really loving this.

Honestly, If he gets the role it will be Justice for him. He has been in the business for like and 10 years and so and have done very good support roles and some main roles. He has done positive roles, and had done a very good role of a villain in "While You Were Sleeping".
The thing is, some actors/actresses get kinda branded and popularized as this "Goofy, Funny, Side Character" or sometimes even have to portray "Pathetic characters" that are just on the side of the Main Leads, sometimes for the show to be funnier, sometimes to fill in the gaps, and even sometimes to make the Main Male Lead look a lot cooler in comparison.
However, if they get the chance to play the Main Lead with the right script and directors and such, prepare to be surprised. In EAW he had played a main role, not even the Main Male Lead, yet it was such an important and impactful character. Having the OPPORTUNITY to play such roles is the key here. That's where it starts.
All the best to him. I really hope he accepts this one, even if the script isn't to his liking as this will be an opportunity for him to have future roles in very good dramas. Have all the Good Luck.

Well, I am watching this. However, I would love it if they kept the storyline somewhat realistic. In shows like this sometimes the relationship between the ML and FL is portrayed in a very unrealistic light, probably due to show-makers trying too hard to make it seem unique.
Balance is the key.

This is basically my thought lol. I understand they wanted to replicate that early 2000 kdrama essence but it…
Yeah, It came out neither like those old dramas, neither like the modern 50+family dramas, rather a hodgepodge of both styles, and the music doesn't really sync with the scenes for some reason, also, that type of music just doesn't go with the cinematography presented in the show.
I really didn't like it, it felt like a spike that kept pinching me whenever I tried to focus on the scenes. Sometimes it just felt painful to really keep my attention to the drama. Anyway, that's how I felt. Still, Let's see. At least I would love the story to turn out great, if not anything else. It's still early.

Hmm, so, I would have really loved it if they had actually gone for 16 episodes instead of just 12, now, quite a few elements feels rushed, compared to the first half of the season. Anyway, Overall it's been a very fun and emotional ride altogether. Let's see how the last episode unfolds.

Loved her in Chocolate - I was wondering where I had seen her before.
She is a veteran in Korean dramas, have always lover her. Her performance in Empress Ki was legendary.

I do not mind that the granddaughter looks like the grandmother and the ML is the doppleganger of the first husband…
I don't like this doppelganger look cause it's absolutely unrealistic, family members do share many traits but it doesn't make them look the same when it comes to ancestral traits. That part has always bothered me about Asian dramas that are of non-fantasy genre and deals with realistic and serious storyline.
Anyway, that may simply be my personal take on the matter, and other people may not mind it as much as I do.
As far as the ship scene goes, it bothered me too. It felt quite unrealistic, In order to ride the ship, you have to first get on a boat, then try getting on the ship from there.
There were quite a few scenes where I felt like they could have simply done better. And for some reason, I just can't find myself attached to the characters so far. The overall vibe alongside the cinematography with unorthodox camera work and angles, it's not something I expected when I started to watch this drama. It just feels, I don't know, Weird, if I had to explain it in a word.

Title Curtain Call
Okay, really not a fan of the production quality, the cinematography feels odd. It's kinda a haphazard mixture of the old dramas and the new 50 episode dramas in terms of the cinematography. The brightness, the color, the effects, everything. The frames feel quite inconsistent, maybe not in terms of actual frames, but it's done in such a way that it feels like that. The camera movement from character to character during conversations feels, again, quite weird. Although, the camera movement has improved in the 2nd episode.

Anyway, I can still give this drama a solid try if the storyline is good. So far, the acting seems very much on point, but, the story's setup with identical characters from the past put into the present is something I have difficulty taking seriously, especially in a non-fantasy drama. I mean, the Granddaughter is the exact replica of the Grandmother, yeah, don't like that for this type of drama. Problem is, even without nitpicking, so many things can be pointed out as flaws in this show, so far at least.
Anyway, it's still early, just 2 episodes out. The ML and FL are two of my most favorites. Also, the Grandmother was the mother of Kang Ha Neul's character in "When the Camelia Blooms", loved mother-son chemistry. Also, Ha Ji Won, last time I saw her was on "Chocolate" in like 2 years ago. I will try my best to watch this show in good faith as I really like these 3 people.
For now, Let's wait and see.

yall cant give us a character like her and then take her away from us within two episodes especially when im getting…
I feel you. Her character was the most impactful to the story, very likable and authentic soul, and the most short lived, as it turned out.

I am watching this for sure. It's storyline seems to be quite different, something we don't see in dramas generally.

Such crazy fun, I really didn't think it would be such "bit comic scenes one after one nonstop" type of drama. Really enjoying the comedy.

See, that's the difference between Dramas and Reality. Pretty Actress and Poor Non-Celeb guy trope works only…
Definitely, with a few exceptions. Reality is quite a bitch, unlike happy ending dramas. Even if two contrasting people like that want to be with each other, societal prejudice is quite a force that deter them from actually doing it, that's why we almost never see that happen.

I just wanna say that the Child Actor who played the part of Child Si-On, did unbelievable acting. Whenever I saw him in a scene, he just portrayed the character in such an unbelievable fashion.

Funny how all these "non-celebrity" other halves are always mega-rich.Anyway, good luck to them both.

Yoon Park is a good actor, with very good looks, yet I've never seen him playing the Main Male lead in any show. Hope this becomes a successful one. Problem is, it says that it's just 4 episodes, a span that I don't like and hardly found in good dramas, except a few like "You drive me Crazy".
Anyway, at least I hope the episodes themselves are at least 1 hour or longer. I will be deeply disappointed if the episodes themselves are like just 35 min, or even less. That will be a recipe for disaster, cause, really, it's not enough time to build anything meaningful. If it's like 4 hours or more in total, they can still make something great out of it.
