What is difference between this and blossom 😭😭 why they have same name in the same year
But to be fAIR, the native name of this drama actually translates to "The Order of the Flowers" or something like that, so at least it's related to blossoms. The native name of the other drama translates closer to "Nine Layers of Purple!" So I don't know why they decided to name "Nine Layers of Purple" "Blossom" and confuse everybody haha
I can't help but think: why isn't Duke Su wearing armour while fighting against Lord Cheng?!!!! Like man, I know you have confidence in your abilities, but at least give yourself a fighting chance! All those pointless flesh wounds weakening you for nothing... and they could've easily been prevented with some aRMOUR (which people typically dO wear into battle!)
Because of the age gap I guess, the ML and FL haven't met as kids - finally a way exists for this tiring trope…
Haha I'm tired of that cliché too. What's wrong with finding love in adulthood WITHOUT having met your significant other as a child? That's the way it works most times, actually! LOL
I think that if he got anything done, it was a nose job. But who cares? It's glaringly obvious that Yang Zi had…
I myself could never consider someone who tortured and lashed me as a possible romantic interest but that's why this is a fantasy show! Most fans forgive and forget all the bad stuff at the beginning because of how handsome XL's actor is. I definitely think many of his actions close to the end of the show are commendable and he becomes more selfless (saving XY, etc.), but like I've said above he never could put his past aside for XY. His loyalty to the army comes first. TSJ meanwhile is content just having XY. He doesn't need the title of clan leader or wealth or anything else and he's willing to let his turbulent past go in order to have a bright future with her. That's why she loves him.
"It’s easy to be extreme, cold-hearted, cunning, and paranoid. But being warm, kind, resolute, and trusting is very hard. But Jing did it. He is exactly the opposite of me. His body couldn’t be restored to perfection, but his heart remained warm and steadfast, as if he had never been imprisoned in a cage. Cang Xuan, do you know? It was Jing who carried my heart out of that cage step by step. He taught me to believe and to give. He filled me with hope so that I could live on with warmth and love.” - Xiaoyao
One of my favourite dialogues of hers in the series! For XY, Jing helped her heal from her trauma and became someone she could rely on. She is no longer the Wen Xiaoliu who was all alone with nobody to protect her and walk with her side by side.
As Xiangliu wished: "May you have strength, someone to lean on, and a place to call home. May you be happy."
For me, the ending is satisfying because XY, TSJ, and XL all got what they wanted in the end. XY found someone to accompany her for a lifetime, someone who puts her first and helped her heal. Tushan Jing got his one and only wish, to be with Xiaoyao. And Xiangliu got his final wish fulfilled: Xiaoyao's happiness (and the fact that she now has someone to lean on). Even CX got to finally confess to XY and tell her how he feels. Of course, those weren't their only wishes, but nobody ever gets everything they desire.
I'm not saying the ending was perfect, or that I wouldn't change anything (Xinyue lives but Fenglong dies? The INJUSTICE-), but I think that given each character's motivations & loves, this ending was pretty fitting.
Not really. HE for Jing but bittersweet ending for XY, as she lost XL, her love soulmate forever. Hence the title…
In another life, and with different circumstances, they could've been together. Just not this one. @Yang Zi & Tan Jian Ci, that's your sign to work together again!
I think that they do it out of conformism : male lead must be with female lead.I did not like male lead at all…
I FULLY agree. I was shocked when CX slapped Xinyue because just like she would be happy to see XY out of the way, CX would've been happy to see Tushan Jing gone! I also thought CX seemed super negligent to the women of his harem. It made me wonder how someone like Xinyue WOULDN'T begin harbouring resentment towards Xiao Yao, because of how CX gave her all of his attention. Poor Fenglong, he needlessly died because he got caught in the middle trying to clean up Xinyue and CX's mess.

I really wish the scriptwriters or whoever was doing the decision making for this drama didn't decide to make it all a dream. I feel like their moments together and eventual confrontation would've been so much more powerful and impactful if they had it play out in real life. It also felt like they mislead us on purpose, because upon watching there was nothing to indicate that it WAS a dream!
These details are from the novels. Some of them are also alluded to in the drama. I mentioned this below, but…
Thank you for helping me with your detailed explanation! I tried my best to explain but it sure helps to have the context of the novel in addition to the drama to add more clarity to the story! Your response is very much appreciated ❤️

I didn't enjoy his jealousy either. It was definitely the worst part about his character this season. It frustrated me, because CX and XY had such a close bond with each other, and CX should've known that no other man entering XY's life would've disrupted that. They could've remained very close like brother and sister, and leaned on each other's support. But CX was still extremely jealous and often controlling as well.
Loving how the drama kinda tipped expectation and propriety on its head - makes things fresh and new
