I guess I have way too much free time on my hands. XD
I have been watching dramas for about 10 years, way before I joined MDL back in 2017 so you will find my comments on a LOT of dramas.
I actually only started watching Thai dramas after I joined MDL.

I am glad my comments are helpful to someone, be it to make them not waste their time with a bad drama or feel encouraged to watch a good one. ^-^

The episodes are longer so they might not reduce a lot.

Dont get me wrong, I am not disagreeing with you. I am saying I cannot comment on it since I have not watched that drama yet.

I do agree that, unfortunately, in many dramas, women are portrayed in a negative way. I have seen it in several Asian dramas, mostly in Thai dramas and Jdramas probably take 2nd place for the dramas that portray women negatively.

The difference for me is the marriage part. The female lead here has casual relationships while, as far as I know, in the other drama mentioned she has sex with her husband only.

Sure, she might not be very smart and the way they go about in their relationship might not be healthy or work out in real life, but as long as they remain loyal to each other and dont go having relationships outside their marriage, then it really cant get worse than this one from a moral point of view.

I cant really comment on the characters being stupid until I actually watch it, which will be only once its fully subbed and I have nothing else to watch.

Well, I cant really comment on that one since I have not watched it yet...but hey, at least they are married. Here its just an older woman having casual sex with a bunch of younger men. I dont think it can get worse than this one. XD

This is a Chinese drama, but what you said makes sense.

Wait, I have that one on my plan-to-watch list. The main leads are a couple, how is that related to a woman sleeping around? Or is it some supporting character that does that?
I havent even watched the 1st episode but it seems like the plot is very different from this one.

Not sure, maybe near the end. I skipped a lot of scenes because I was bored. Sorry that I cant answer your question with a 100% certainty.

I am sure this drama would appeal to some people out there, but I want to believe most women would stay away from this kind of plot if they have any self-respect and morals.

There is nothing cool about sleeping around with a bunch of younger guys, or sleeping around with anyone really. Like you said, its basically prostitution except she is doing it for free.

Yeah, anime nowadays is also very explicit. Its almost impossible to find an anime with romance that has no ecchi and is not magical shojo either. I guess they realized a lot of the viewers were men and are trying to appeal to them. Animes are now targeting males and kids, and thats it, no middle ground. And in recent years jdramas are starting to follow the same trend.

Tho I guess this one might also be directed to older women that are feeling lonely and would not mind messing around with a few younger men.

Either way, I am definitely not their target audience.

I guess the comment I left 1 month ago after watching the 1st episode was an accurate prediction.

Oh no...so much can go wrong with this kind of plot. I can already picture the mother trying to get that son-in-law that she always wanted but ending up falling for him while making her daughter look like she is two-timing.

That said, I am still going to watch this train wreck. Sigh

Sooo...no romance at all? Not even slight romance?

Its not like the romance only happens at the end. They start liking each other and kind of get in a relationship before that. But there is barely any skinship or them just spending time as a couple and things keep happening to break them apart, and only in the last 2 minutes do we get to see them as a real couple.

About the recommendations, I dont watch many daily dramas but I have watched a few that I liked, My father is strange being one of them. I cant really remember the titles since its so rare for me to watch them, but one that really messed with my emotions a few years ago was The Promise. Its a bumpy ride tho, with a lot of drama and tragic deaths/accidents, so not sure if it would be your cup of tea.

We need a season 2 after that ending scene. Also, the supporting characters need more development.

Hopefully, they did not end it like that just to make us read the webtoon to know what happens next. I have been there several times back when I used to watch anime and had to go read the manga to know how the story ends. Its a little frustrating.

hahah, its true tho. They gave her a wig and baggy clothes and think that makes her look thick. lol
