Yeah, I did not mean the slap in a literal way. lol I meant she needs something to wake her up and make her realize that things between her and Ming Zhe are over and that she needs to treasure Xiang An or she might lose him too. Maybe if the main leads get married or there is a life and death situation in which the ML chooses to save the FL instead of her and then she will realize that there is no going back anymore. He is over her and she needs to get over him too.
I am surprised you picked up such a long drama. Does that mean there is still hope for My Amazing Bride?
I actually came across MAB the same day I came across Chef Fang somewhere in 2017, and thankfully you picked up Chef Fang which was a very enjoyable watch for me since I love cooking in my dramas. ^^

I hope the second male lead realizes she is not the angel he sees her as and leaves her. He is sincere while she is only leading him on. If it was not for Shao Ming Zhe’s high moral values and him already liking the FL, Su Mo would have been cheating with him. Thankfully, it takes 2 to tango and she cant do anything by herself, but she surely tried and probably will keep trying until someone slaps some sense into her. I hate people like this. It honestly feels like she is only with Xiang An as a prize of the only time she felt she won against the FL. Because the man the FL once liked is with her instead and that makes her feel superior.
I honestly dont get whats so good about Su Mo. She is not particularly good looking, FL is prettier, unless people think she is better because of the fake looking boobs. She is not that bright either and she has an awful personality. She is not even the loyal type. Like seriously, she does not have any redeeming qualities. I dont get how both male leads fell for her.
I feel bad for the FL. The man she liked for so many years is blindly in love with someone who does not care about him at all and the man she likes now is the ex-boyfriend of this same person. I wish she could be with someone who had nothing to do with Su Mo.
Hello, if you could respond to me, Are there secondary couples in the drama? And do they have reasonable time?…
Yes, there are several secondary couples actually, maybe too many. LOL Dont worry, I will keep leaving my brutally honest comments on dramas and hopefully they will be helpful to anyone who reads them. ^^
To each its own, for me this is much enjoyable than The Bride, Korean Oddysey and even Hotel de Luna. of course…
hahah Has happened to me several times. I feel that sometimes it has to do with my mood. Most of the times I like a drama with a deep well-written plot that keeps me invested throughout the whole thing. Other times I just want something fluffy and sweet even if there is not much to the plot. I tend to find this second a lot in Chinese dramas. There are quite a few that the plot is nothing special but the amazing chemistry between the main leads and all their fluffy moments is enough to make my day better.
To each its own, for me this is much enjoyable than The Bride, Korean Oddysey and even Hotel de Luna. of course…
I am glad you enjoyed it. It comes down to personal preference. Bride of Habaek probably deserves a lower rating than this one, Korean Oddysey I have watched but can barely remember what it was about so it clearly did not leave a strong impression on me and Hotel del Luna’s only redeeming qualities were probably the female lead’s outfits (she was always rocking those) and the OST. I guess I am hard to please when it comes to this genre. XD
Yup. The handsome cowboy is a thai drama that unfortunately I will never forget. When I started watching it I…
Yeah, I know what you mean. Supporting characters and villains can even be murders if that's what the writer is going for. But when they make the main characters act like villains I have a hard time cheering them on - that includes rape, murder, physical and verbal violence, ...
Because at the end of the day you want a drama to make you feel something. You want to be excited while watching…
Dont get me wrong, its not the flawed characters. I mean, we are all flawed. Its just that I, personally, cannot relate to their decisions and actions. I felt 16 episodes was too much for this plot, maybe 12 episodes would have been best. I did like the first half, but then the second half seemed to only drag things out.
Also, with so much liking, not liking, distance, breaking up and then getting together between the main leads, I kind of lost interest in their romance.
Yup. The handsome cowboy is a thai drama that unfortunately I will never forget. When I started watching it I…
Are you talking about a specific drama or lakorns in general?
But yeah, I have noticed they are toning it down with the rape and mistreatment of women lately. At least when it comes to the main characters. With supporting characters you will still see rape, infidelity and violence against women in general.
I have never been raped, thankfully, so I can only imagine how it feels but yeah, it is probably worse than being cheated on. Because someone cheating on you hurts you emotionally and might create some trust issues but eventually you will be able to move on. While being raped hurts physically AND emotionally, and in the future even having some sort of intimacy with your partner can be a scary thing. Something that was supposed to be wonderful and a demonstration of your love, becomes a scary monster you have to fight.
So yeah, rape is probably a lot worse than cheating.
You know how there are good horror movies that are scary and make you be on the edge of your seat until the end? And you know how some horror movies are not scary at all and the plot is so bad that it feels like a bad comedy movie where people just happen to die?
Well, same thing can happen with the fantasy/supernatural genre. Unfortunately, for me, this was the second type. I have watched several dramas with this genre and this one together with Bride of Habaek are some of the worst dramas I have watched in this genre.
Sure, the cast was great, there was bromance and from episode 11 forward there was some action. But the plot and fantasy elements felt cringy and boring, just like I felt while watching Bride of Habaek. I think with time, the rating for this drama will also fall in the 7s just like Bride of Habaek did.
Maybe I will get some hate for this comment. But you need to remember that how long you have been watching dramas and your personal preferences affect your view of a certain drama. I have been watching dramas for over 10 years and I like the fantasy/supernatural genre to have some basis that is somehow realistic so I can believe it and a plot that is deep and well written so I wont be bored. And this drama just didnt have that.
Yup. The handsome cowboy is a thai drama that unfortunately I will never forget. When I started watching it I…
Yeah, I definitely hate rape and like I said some dramas were able to make it less horrible but that does not mean I found it acceptable and after it happened I did not care much for them being together anymore.
Personally, I dont think I would be able to forgive, much less be in a relationship with someone who raped me. It is an act of violence that shows total lack of respect for the person. It is as bad, actually worse, than cheating.
Lol episode 23 was kind of surprising. Things went from 8 to 80 really fast.
About the drama as a whole, I dont have much to say. I found the business part kind of boring at times and I could not care less about some of the side characters.
I also did not like how the main leads kept going to someone else for advice and comfort even after they started dating. Some might say that if there is trust in the relationship there is nothing wrong with meeting with someone else alone. But I disagree. Even if you trust that person, if your boyfriend is having dinner in a fancy restaurant with some nice music and her all dressed up, to anyone who knows him and walks by, it looks like he is cheating on you, even if he isnt. Also, spending several hours with another man and not picking up your boyfriends calls is not nice either.
I think 47 episodes was way too much. I keep seeing this with Chinese dramas. When its a historical drama I can put up with a good amount of episodes, but for modern dramas, anything that is over 30 episodes is usually too much for me. There are some exceptions, but most of the time this is how I feel. And this drama, unfortunately, was not one of those exceptions.
They start dating like around ep 15-16, but there is a situation near the end (eps 23-24) that makes them be apart from each other. Not really a break up, at least not to him, but they do spend like 6 months without any contact. I cant say more without spoiling it.
it also similiar to horimiya XD there few of those anime\manga that has the same plot with different perosna at…
I have watched/read some seinen that I liked. Its just that most of the times, since it is a genre geared towards males, I dont find it interesting. Ecchi is definitely not my kind of thing. Most of the times there is no plot to it and its more like a light porn that somehow is ok for kids to watch. I would say my favorite genre is shojo but not the actual shojo that is geared more towards kids, the 90s shojo that had a very well developed story with all sorts of genres like romance, comedy, thriller, tragedy, and so on. There are some that I have re-watched countless times. The 90s were definitely the best decade for anime.
I agree. Though I think I had a couple more issues than you. I really did not like how her having powers was dealt…
I agree with all you said, I was just too lazy to write. XD I also thought the whole power thing was left aside for most of the drama. We see it in the beginning, then when there was that pervert and then at the end. I was expecting a lot more inconveniences like random guys falling for her. And there were times when technically she should have let out electricity and nothing happened. Lots of inconsistencies with the whole power thing.
I think what I liked about the drama was their cute moments and like you said, how the parents were chill people instead of the cliché "against their relationship".
Rewatching a few scenes here and there, I have to say, amidst all the incredible toxicity, this couple is just…
Yeah, I completely agree with you. Waiting for better subs to keep watching. Right now they used google translate and its impossible to understand what they are saying.
Water and electricity are a dangerous combination. In this drama that is not the case. Pikachu and the swimmer have an awesome relationship. But that is about it.
Its a cute fluffy drama that has a very weak plot, specially as the episodes progressed. The start was good but with each episode there seemed to be less and less about the plot. It was just the main leads and supporting characters there without much happening. Their relationship was also mostly falling and tripping on each other and several kisses until they actually started dating and there was no clear distinction in their relationship from before and after they started dating.
So yeah, its not a bad drama, its cute and all. But it is something to watch when there is nothing else to watch. There are a lot of other school romance dramas that are a lot better than this one.
I have watched the first episode and I got the feeling there will be no romance. Just her going out and possibly doing the devil’s tango with a bunch of younger guys. We will see. But if that is what the story is about, then I will find the closest exit and let myself out.
I meant she needs something to wake her up and make her realize that things between her and Ming Zhe are over and that she needs to treasure Xiang An or she might lose him too.
