I liked some things about it like the main leads chemistry or how the female lead was independent and hardworking and not a crybaby. I mean, she found out on the day she was shooting her wedding pictures that her longtime boyfriend and soon to be husband had been cheating on her for years and she did not lock herself in her room crying. She focused on her work and personal growth instead. I also liked her friendship with the second female lead and how she became friends with her ex’s second girl, that showed they were both humble to see neither of them was at fault, he was the one to blame. In real life it is rare for that to happen. Even if the other woman had no idea and the guy is the one cheating, you still hate the other woman.
Ok, so those were some of the things I liked. Now, what I did NOT like.
As usual, this was way too long. Why 45 episodes if you do not have anything to add to the story? The second couple also stole A LOT of screen time. In a 35 minutes episode (if you take out the intro and ending songs), they would some times monopolize the first 15-20 minutes. And to be honest, their story was not even that interesting.
There were also some issues with the relationship between the leads and I still cannot get over how insensitive the male lead was to kiss her in front of someone who had just confessed his love to her. I mean, there is a time and place for everything.
The product placement like other people have mentioned is just right in your face. And how realistic is it that EVERYONE in this drama has the same ringtone? When a phone rang I would only be able to tell who was receiving a call after that person answered the phone because, I repeat, EVERYONE had the same ringtone.
The plot was dragged to the point it felt like I was just watching fillers. Starting around episode 25 or so I started to skip a lot of scenes. I love when the main leads get together early rather than getting together only on the last episode, BUT if you have a 45 episode drama and the main leads get together around episode 14 (or somewhere around that), what are you going to do with the plot for the other 31 episodes? I honestly thought this would turn out to be one of those dramas where the main leads break up and get together several times. SPOILER ALERT: they surprisingly only break up once.
So yeah, not impressed with this drama. 6/10 and I am being generous already.
This happens all the time with way too many dramas and I wonder why! It's not like they done it once and learned…
Yeah. Also, since some of these dramas are uploaded to YouTube and use copyrighted music, a lot of times you will have huge chunks of conversations muted, it is really annoying. I only need BGM in certain situations like a car chase or something. XD I could do just fine without it, especially if I have to give up listening to the characters because of it.
For those wondering, the subs on iQiyi are awful. You might as well watch it without them. Maybe they will fix them later, but I doubt it since this is not a popular drama.
I'm interested in your YouTube channel. Would you mind sharing?
The link is on my profile, together with the link to the website. The lessons are in Portuguese tho. I do plan to add English captions to some videos, but my target audience is mainly people who speak Portuguese, which is my native language.
I have to agree with everyone else. I recently created my own YouTube channel and I make sure the BG never overpowers my voice since I make Korean lessons. The BG is always several negative DBs below the main audio so it is not distracting.
If I who am an amateur knows that, how come the editing team for this drama messed up so bad? It feels like the videos were edited by someone who is doing this for the first time, and even I had a better final result when I edited my first video. Really, it is just too distracting and I end up skipping entire scenes just because the BG is annoying.
This had potential but they made the male lead not very likable and focused too much on the jewels thing to the point there was not much more to the plot. I liked the way it started but by the end I was like meh, just another drama.
It started out well but it did not reach its full potential. I felt like the story started out to drag mainly because they tried to add a lot of genres to this - historical, romance, comedy, politics, and so on. If this was executed well, I would not mind that at all. The problem is the plot felt like it did not have a focus or a main genre and as if each of the genres were fighting for the spotlight. For example, it started well in the romance department and we even got some skinship and kissing in the first half of the drama. But then it seems the politics part took over and we only get to see that again almost at the end. Meanwhile its only dialogues and a few back-hugs.
This being a low budget drama is obvious but it was not what bothered me. I mean, I really liked Romance of Hua Rong and that was a low budget drama too. The problem is that the plot just was not as good as it could have been. That aside, this is a pretty good drama if you are just looking for a light watch, just dont expect an amazing plot or acting. 6/10
This is pretty bad. I have seen other lakorns where the female lead is the villain and they were pretty well done. But this one is just...I mean, the female lead is not interesting enough, the twins thing is too old, the romance is meh, the acting, the editing, the ending, everything feels so amateur, fake and boring. Honestly, if you want a drama about a female lead that is not good person, there are other dramas out there that are a lot better.
Hi I'm planning to take this on as my next project. I will be uploading them to here: https://productiveprocrastination.site/
Yay. I have been following a lot of the dramas you sub. You pick dramas related to cooking and I love that. I am currently waiting for Chef Hua. I liked Chef Fang, so I should like Chef Hua too. Thank you for your hard work. ^^
I think you have to donate to them and then they send you the login details or something like that. I do not have an account on their website either so I dont know much more than you.
I have this in plan to watch, awaiting you. LOL I know, I am sad. Summary and tags make It sounds like a mess.
You might have to wait for a little while because this has 42 eps and I was only able to watch the 1st episode. I did not feel like watching the 2nd episode right after...that was how interesting the 1st episode was.
The idea was good but the execution not so much. The way both the plot and characters were written had many flaws. I did not feel much chemistry between the leads and then bam they like each other, she has a son she cares so much about that she will do anything to get a job so she can get custody but her son is barely mentioned and does not even appear for almost the entire drama, her ex-husband cheated on her but she seems to neither hate him nor see him as a friend and the way they act around each other makes it seem like they are complete strangers that just met. There are so many inconsistencies and so much lost potential that the drama as a whole felt like a drag.
Maybe you are new to dramas and will like it, but as someone who has been watching dramas for almost a decade, this plot is just too weak for me.
There were some aspects I liked and the leads had really good chemistry but the plot at times felt like it had way too many genres. Also, the male lead’s attitude got on my nerves several times throughout the whole thing. So, it is not a bad drama, but I have recently watched a lot better so this one will probably end up buried in the sea of dramas I have watched only once and might never watch again.
If you actually think about it again Han Shuo and Qian Qian still had a good ending because QQ (from the real…
True. Also, what makes us us are our memories and experiences. So you can say that the QQ and HS in the future are the same as the ones in the story since they remember their romance and all the sacrifices they did for each other. I would not have been as happy with the ending if she ended up with someone that looks exactly like HS but is not him. So I am satisfied with the way it ended because they remeber their love for each other and will be together both in the story and in the real world.
Ok, so those were some of the things I liked. Now, what I did NOT like.
