Yeah, I dont remember much of the story but I rated this 5/10 so I must have not liked it a lot. I dont like female leads that cant stand up for themselves. I have seen a lot of kind female leads that know how defend themselves without being vengeful. That is the kind I like. The kind that has a good heart but knows how to outsmart the villains.
I cant remember, but he probably did at least a few times. The female lead spent most time crying cause there was always someone treating her like trash.
I am soooo glad I skipped entire episodes at some point, but after watching that last episode I feel that if I…
What kind of garbage ending is that? The villain comes out of prison after only a few years and the mother of the person she kidnapped is there to receive her with roses and a smile on her face, together with her daughter that was held captive for 25 years by this woman?? I am not saying hate the woman until you die, but no need to go to that extent. Then the people that most messed up are all having happy family lives while the main leads that had to go through so much crap and their poor son are separated. There is no reason for them to still not be together after all those years and it is unfair for the kid to have to live that kind of life. It is at least selfish of the parents to do that. They clearly still love each other, they have a kid together, so whats keeping them from staying together? The female lead’s pride? Brainless family members on the male lead’s side? Is that really more important than the happiness of their son and their own?
Really, Mr. Writers, maybe you should dedicate yourselves to doing something else if you think the viewers have such a low IQ to be ok with the garbage you served them.
Obviously you can tell I’m super pissed at the wasted potential of this drama and that joke of an ending. I tried to put my anger aside and rated this 4/10 when in fact I felt like rating it 1, since I cant rate it 0.
I am soooo glad I skipped entire episodes at some point, but after watching that last episode I feel that if I could go back in time I would not have wasted even a minute of my time watching this.
You have your typical daily drama with lots of secrets and melodrama, which also drags for the longest time. No surprise in that. What angers me is that they had an interesting premise, had a couple made of 2 people who were deeply hurt and one makes up for what the other lacks (the 2nd couple, not the main one), and some other interesting characters. Yet the writers for the sake of dragging this as long as possible and make it more dramatic, completely ruined the drama and seemed to at several times be making a fool out of the viewers. And that ending was a total joke in so many ways that if I was rich I would have thrown my laptop to the ground, except Im not so I just had to hold it in.
Why was the romance not your cup of tea? Too much? Or not enough of it? Or too cheesy?
Yeah, so the female lead loves the male lead, although they start as just friends but then finds herself in a situation where she feels forced to marry someone else. The other man is just someone who likes her but I dont think she ever gives him a chance because she only loves the male lead and married the other man without loving him. I know the male lead misunderstands her for quite some time because she married another man so he thinks she did it because the other man is rich while he is poor and can barely support himself, something along those lines.
The kind of love you mentioned is also the kind I like to watch, the one where there is trust, respect, no misunderstandings, no letting other people interfere with their relationship.
This one although they love each other and the male lead at some point understands why the female lead married the other man, still they spent most time apart and when it seems they might have a chance to be together again, at the end he dies. So definitely quite a frustrating love story to watch. If you go into it solely for the romance, you might feel like its not worth it.
the teaser make me feel so uncomfortable but I gotta watch this for kim seul gi & oh yeon seo
Ikr, dont know what they were thinking. They have only a few seconds to a few minutes to convince people to watch this and the best they could think of is to show the male lead doing number 2? If they were trying to make it funny, it didnt work, at least not for me. I am one of those people that is not a fan of toilet jokes.
I will still give it a try anyway for the same reason as you - the actresses playing the main leads. I could not care less about the male actor, they could have picked any other handsome actor to play this role, Ahn Jae Hyun’s acting does not stand out at all and I dont think any of his dramas made it to my favourite kdramas list. I dont hate him, but its not like I like him more than any other korean actor.
Why was the romance not your cup of tea? Too much? Or not enough of it? Or too cheesy?
You’re welcome! Obviously dont take my reply as 100% correct since it has been a long time, but what I can remember and tell you for sure is that the trailer is quite misleading as it makes it seem like the story is all about these 2 people who have a sweet/sad romance, when in fact the other 2 or at least one of the other 2 men have as much if not more screen time than the male "lead" and spend more time with the female lead.
What I am also sure about is that the male lead dies somewhere around the end, and one of the other 2 seems to die but then shows up alive as some kind of plot twist and the other I cant remember.
Why was the romance not your cup of tea? Too much? Or not enough of it? Or too cheesy?
It has been over a year but if I am not wrong there is no place for the romance to happen properly and the female lead is thrown back and forth between these 3 men and read the spoiler at your own risk...
Did you end up watching this? I'm trying to decide
I did not even get past the first episode, not sure why since it was almost a year ago and I dropped this but I think it was because I could not get into the story. I rarely drop a drama after only watching 1 episode, unless I can tell right away that it is not my kind of drama.
It is out today. I hate how japanese dramas have less episodes but still take longer to air and to get subbed…
Yeah, and the episodes are so short too, just like animes. On the other end you have thai dramas with episodes of over 90 minutes. I like it somewhere in the middle, 45-60mins per episode. Less than that and it feels like the episode just started and its already over and more makes it seems like each episode is a movie.
That plot twist. Lol Just wish the ending was less confusing. I can think about at least 2 different meanings to that ending, and in either case the female lead is still not likeable in my eyes. But this is so short that it doesnt really matter, right? I would be super mad if this was a drama that took me many hours to finish tho.
I wonder if episode 6 is gonna come out today, been over 10 days since the last one I think. Would be happy with…
It is out today. I hate how japanese dramas have less episodes but still take longer to air and to get subbed compared with korean, chinese and thai dramas. T T
This drama was a thin line between genius and complete nonsense. The whole ritual killings and disasters made an interesting plot, but I almost dropped it several times during the first few episodes. Why? Because it is one thing to have a bunch of greedy powerful people that lose all brain cells while seeking for more power, it is another to make the main character, and pretty much everyone around him believe in the same kind of nonsense.
I am sorry if this might offend anyone, but do you really think that the colour of your clothes, the placement of an object in your house, the day and time you were born and the alignment of planets and stars dictates what will happen to you, be it good or bad? Luck does not exist, you make your own luck when you make decisions, no one decides your fate for you. Karma does not exist, it is just that when you make wrong decisions, you have to accept the consequences of them. If you decide to rob a bank and later get caught by police, that has nothing to do with lack of luck or karma, it is just the consequence of you deciding to do something you should not have done in the first place.
I have watched all kinds of dramas with themes that are far from realistic like time-travelling, swapping bodies, characters that come out of books or living people going inside them, and so on. But even the writers when making these dramas know that they are fiction. So you just enjoy the plot knowing it is just a drama, and the things that happen in the drama would never happen in real life. But this drama takes itself too seriously and seems to force people watching to do the same. I was only able to watch by skipping pretty much every scene that had the male lead counting the time with his fingers and scribbling down a bunch of things about planets and stars and I dont even know. I would be a lot more prone to accepting the plot if the male lead was someone who could predict these things by having dreams or some other way, but not by acting as illogical as the villains. He was also so arrogant about his "ability" that he ended up causing the female lead a lot more pain than necessary (I cant say more or it would be a spoiler but you will understand what I mean after you watch the last 2-3 episodes). The female lead on the other hand was not the brightest person on Earth and would be the easiest to fool out of the 4 victims if it was not for all the people around protecting her.
The romance was also so half-baked that I would rather have no romance at all. Over half of the time the main leads did not even have scenes together so it felt like it was just him going after the female lead because of his beliefs and her having a crush on him. Their love did not have time to bloom.
At the end I am left feeling the emotions of someone who just watched something that had potential but at the same time feels like the most ridiculous drama I have watched in a while. Again, sorry if I offended anyone with what I said, but I am just expressing my personal opinion.
Yeah, I do the same most of the times. But when I have no idea what to watch next and all dramas I want to watch are still airing, then I might start watching 1 or 2 of them if it already has a few episodes subbed. I started watching sapai tko because the first 5 episodes were already subbed. If I think of any other drama with a female lead that you might like, I will come back here and let you know.
The idea is interesting and the drama is not bad but I felt something was missing. I felt there weren't enough elements to consolidate the plot and the pace felt a little off for me. The ending could also be better. They went for an ending that has been done a lot in these kind of plots but did not make it interesting enough, it felt a little bland.
Really, Mr. Writers, maybe you should dedicate yourselves to doing something else if you think the viewers have such a low IQ to be ok with the garbage you served them.
