Title Love & π
Wow, so where do I start? I have really mixed feelings about this one. I liked a lot of moments and characters. There really isn't a main or supporting character that is hateful, they all have their flaws but you can relate to them and in part understand why they make certain choices even if you do not agree with them. There is no mean male or female second lead. The story was very realistic BUT frustrating at the same time. I understood why the characters acted in a certain way but it did still annoy me as I already knew what would happen later. I just wish some characters would be more honest with their feelings but then I guess we would not have a story. Btw, the last episode wrapped up things nicely. I don’t think there were any loose ends. Ofc I cant say more than that or I would have to mark this as spoiler.

Like I said, I have mixed feelings. I liked it, I think it is a pretty good drama but I probably will not have the courage to re-watch it as I don’t want to feel this frustration again. Also, I think the choice of main characters was pretty good. Had they chosen someone else and I think I might have dropped this in the beginning. They had good chemistry and fitted their roles very well.

Unfortunately there is a high chance this will not get subbed but the trailer made it seem interesting. It seems in this one it is the female lead who helps the male lead instead of the usual strong male lead always saves weak female lead.

I just started studying Chinese not long ago and I know I wont become fluent in 3 months (some believe this) but I hope maybe in a year or so I will know enough to be able to start subbing Chinese dramas. There are so many out there that us non-Chinese speakers never got the chance to watch. TT

I totally agree! Chinese dramas really need to start cutting down on their episodes. It always starts off so great…
One of the main reasons Chinese dramas lose to Korean dramas in terms of popularity is because most of them have too many episodes which results in either dragging stories or annoying sub-plots that had no place there. Of course there is also the dubbing and the lack of eng subs issues, but I find a lot of Chinese dramas actually have interesting plots. If only they could reduce the episode count a little...

Title Secret of Three Kingdoms Spoiler
Is there romance? I mean its not in the tags for genre but just curious
There is but it is far from being the main focus of the drama and if romance is what you’re looking for I am not sure you will be willing to sit for 54 episodes to watch 3/4 episodes worth of actual romance. It is there but considering the plot, it might as well have none.
On Secret of Three Kingdoms Nov 13, 2018
At first this caught my attention. The start was interesting, but before it reached even half of the drama I started feeling bored and kept skipping a lot of scenes. Maybe I lost the point while skipping but I felt this was one of the most pointless dramas I have ever watched.

I don’t really want to spoil it but imagine you’re running the marathon and your goal is reaching the finish line and get first place no matter what. For you to reach your goal, your friends and even random people who are also participating in the marathon all help you by taking down other people so you can get first place, and in consequence they lose their chance to continue running in the marathon themselves. After so much struggle and so many sacrifices (other people’s sacrifices, not yours), you’re about to reach the finishing line and you’re in first place too, BUT then suddenly you’re like ugh, I cant do this anymore and stop running and just go grab a cup of coffee with your girlfriend while someone else finishes the marathon and gets first place.

And that is pretty much the plot this drama offers you. If you like palace politics you can still give it a try. If you want to watch it for the romance, believe me, if that is your main reason, forget it, it’s not worth your time, it is very slow-paced, just like the plot itself and is far from being the focus of the story. So yeah, depending on what you are looking for you might still want to give this a try.

Great start, real kisses (something you see rarely in thai dramas), the rest of the story was very predictable, including the ending BUT it is better than your average lakorn so I dont regret watching it nor do I think it was a waste of my time. For a picky watcher like me, this is a 7.5/10.
On Love at First Hate Nov 12, 2018
For a more realistic and overall better lakorn with a similar plot try this one: https://kisskh.at/27170-jao-sao-jum-yorm

I am currently at episode 7 so I cant say for sure if it is a great one until I watch everything, but so far it is better than this one in every way from pace of the story, characters, romance, everything.

Title Love Bipolar
Way too short compared to the regular thai drama. There was not enough time to develop the story and romance so I did not really feel any connection to the characters. And for something so short they should not have given the second female lead so much screen time when they could barely develop the main couple’s romance in the time they had.
On Love at First Hate Nov 11, 2018
I know this is a lakorn, but everything seems so fake. Their relationship happened way too fast and he acts like a player most of the time so even the "love" seems fake. It feels more like he just wants to sleep with her. I watched 9 episodes which is how many have aired so far and I am not sure if I will wait for the others to come out. I am not expecting a perfect male lead, I just want a male lead that seems to sincerely love the female lead, and not one who just seems to be horny. Sorry that I used this term but that is literally the impression this male lead gives me.

Zhou Zhou storyline was good, Xiao Han made things interesting for the main leads but that didn't last long for…
I thought you were exaggerating when you said "20sec happy ending", but that was literally what it was. XD

You said everything I wanted to say. I would like to add though that the main leads' acting was really good compared…
Yeah, at first I did not even want to watch Chinese dramas at all because of the dubbing. I could not focus on the story because I kept looking at the actors mouths and thinking: it is too obvious the voice Im hearing is not his/her voice. Then I found some that the dubbing was not so noticeable and got used to it.

I tried but 12 episodes in and I find myself skipping A LOT of scenes. The female lead being strong, even stronger than the male lead, was something that I wanted to see, and they did give us that but the male lead lacks in many things for me, starting with the actor they chose to play him, the story seems to just be a bunch of kids going through bodyguard training and the romance is pretty boring. Idk, it just isnt for me. Maybe you will like it but I really did not want to spend more time watching this when I could be watching something better.

Exactly. Once in a while you find some pretty good acting in Chinese dramas, sadly it might happen in dramas that are not that good. And the opposite also happens, a drama that has everything to be good gets ruined by the bad casting of the main leads. Btw, love your profile’s picture, but then who wouldn't, right? XD

Thanks alot for such an useful review , please make more reviews about the dramas u'v watched. Because i…
I have no idea why but I never got a notification telling me someone commented. I only read your comment now, 1 year later, because I am watching the second season and felt like re-watching for the 3rd time the first season and while reading my own review to remind myself of what I liked about the first season THEN I read your comment.

I am so sorry I did not reply before, it was as if I ignored your comment but I really did not read it until now. Thank you and I am glad my review was helpful to you. I will definitely make a review for the 2nd season once it finishes airing and then for the 3rd one too when it comes out next year. If you liked this drama and in case you did not know, the 2nd season is airing right now and will finish by the end of December, you should give it a try.
On The Eternal Love Season 2 Nov 9, 2018
Lol, here I was thinking that I am liking the 2nd season as much if not more than the 1st one and wishing there was more of this, and then I find out there will be a 3rd season....except it will air a year from now. TT

am i the only one who loves both seasons? lol
No, me too. So far I have watched 12 episodes and I am not sure which season I like more. Usually the second season is not as good as the first one or even ruins the plot, but at the moment I think I might be liking the second season even more than the first one. Maybe it is too early to say this but these are just my current thoughts on the second season.

Please, check the spoiler box. I have only watched the first 12 episodes and only reading the first sentence of your comment already spoiled the next episodes for me.

I have yet to find a drama based in this specific time of chinese history that does not leave me with a bitter after-taste. I can ignore the half bald men and the whole marrying many wives since that was how things were then, but seeing how women were treated like objects and had to lead an unhappy life having to share their husband with so many other women always makes me frustrated. And don’t try to say I think like this because I live in a different time. Even then women would not think that way of life was good, they just did not really have another choice.

Maybe she is the mother of his character as a child. Who knows! XD
