Ok, so I read the title, looked at the cover and thought: this looks really nice, why is the rating so low? Then I started reading the summary and was even more interested and could not understand the low ratings, until I got to this part: (...)a male harem of about 30 men (...) she can get them pregnant. WHAT?? I now get why it is called Crazy Queen, but thought Crazy Writers would be more appropriate. XD
I finished watching the Chinese drama version today. The actress playing the 70 year old Shen Meng Jun here plays the same role in the drama version. I really liked the drama version so I gave this a try but it was not as good, yet it has a better rating because it is a movie. I thought this was more similar to the Korean movie Miss Granny rather than the Chinese drama version but Miss Granny was a lot better in my opinion. And the drama was the best out of them all if you are willing to invest the time to watch it.
http://aminoapps.com/p/vz1hrvOk, there's a Korean version which is the original movie drama. Chinese version movie…
Well, in all fairness, she did want to kill herself when she swallowed all those pills. But I can understand why you would think this is a bad way to do it. Although I have to say it was the most realistic transformation out of all the others I have watched. And I liked this version better than the other shows with a similar plot be it Korean or Chinese.
I actually liked this way more than I expected. I think this is underrated. My only complaint will probably be the excessive product placement. It was so obvious and happened all the time and with so many products, from what they were drinking to the medication they were taking. But that did not bother me that much, I just could not think of anything else negative to talk about. I gave it a solid 8/10 which I do not give to just any drama and it rarely happens with Chinese ones. I think this definitely deserves a try.
You can watch this subbed, as it was already mentioned, on 4udrama. Some episodes might have broken links so if you want to watch them you might have to do it without subs somewhere else if they don’t fix them until then. Also, if you have previously watched dramas in this website you already know the quality of the translations leave much to be desired, like when referring to a male they will translate it to "she" or "her" and the other way around. Probably because the person who subbed is a native Chinese but not fluent in English. It is still better than watching it raw, so lets be thankful for those subs.
I am not sure if I liked this or if I hated it. The female lead was annoying most of the time and said and did things that usually the mean second female lead would. The male lead was clueless. The romance between them reminds me of when I used to read mangas. It was one of the most used plot lines - you only value something after you have lost it. The second male lead was the punching bag, mainly because of the female lead.
I watched this until the end and some things I liked but I was frustrated most of the time. Although My Huckleberry Friends had less romance, the female lead was a lot better. I am comparing these 2 cause the actress playing the female lead is the same and they are both school dramas.
It was a nice school drama. I liked it and I usually find school dramas boring as I have finished high school some years ago and I can now relate better with dramas with adult main characters rather than teenagers. But, I did find it very slow paced and not as focused on the romance part as I expected so I will probably not re-watch it. For some it might feel like there isn’t much of a plot either, I know I felt that way watching some episodes. But to watch 1 time, it is a pretty good one.
The plot seems interesting but I can’t imagine this being 77 hours long with this kind of plot, it has to drag a lot, have a lot (way too many) supporting characters taking screen time and changes in the direction of the plot, and of course I can see break ups and dumb separations too, anything that can make story for a "few" more episodes. I am out.
I liked it but I am not going to say it is amazing or anything. It is full of clichés and gives too much screen time to the supporting characters, just like most chinese dramas. It just happens it was less frustrating so it was easier to watch.
I know a good background info on the characters is important to get to know them, but that took over half of the drama and because of that there was not enough time to actually develop the story in the Present, which also resulted in a rushed ending, so rushed that it did not even feel like the ending at all. There were also too many supporting characters, I could not even remember the names of them all and they took over a LOT of precious time that could have been spent on the main characters. And my last complain, although I had many more, is that I did not really like the male lead’s attitude with the female lead, be it his young self or him after the 12 years. Was he really in love with her? If she was not as beautiful would he even know she existed? I really could not get into their romance, it did not seem genuine.
I was bored most of the time, and ended up skipping some of the episodes that happened in the Present as I could tell this was not really going anywhere and the way it ended confirmed my suspicions. I can’t really recommend this to anyone. It is not that it is THAT bad, but just imagine a family drama with plenty of melodrama that drags for several episodes, and when it seems it is finally picking up the pace, bam, THE END. Wait, where is the next episode!? Oh, that was the last one... ??
True. Hime is a very common username between drama and anime fans. It is ok if you do not remember. I ended up adding the spoiler tag just in case. Don’t want to spoil anyone’s fun. Have a nice day!
Some of the songs he wrote seemed catchy in a cheesy way, the kind of song you hear a few times and it gets stuck in your head but that you would never listen to on a daily basis. But some were pretty good, one in particular I liked enough to add to my kpop playlist.
About the drama itself, it had parts that were good and other parts that were a little boring, but overall it was worth it, specially since it’s only 2 hours long.
I would have but what I commented on is all mentioned in this drama synopsis. I only made reference to episode 5 particularly but I did not reveal anything that could not be deducted prior to watching this. Maybe talking about the way the parents behaved around the baby, but I did not say exactly what their actions were. But if you think it is a spoiler, more people might think the same so I will mark it as spoiler just in case. Btw, I have "met" you on the comment section of a lot of dramas I have been watching. XD
Cute short drama in the romance-fantasy genre. In case you are wondering, you can watch this with eng subs on youtube, the channel’s name is Tooniverse-투니버스.
