It's not hinting at a spinoff, it's just showing that people named Alice/Arisu will go through this. The manga…
Maybe or maybe they just want to leave the doors open for an American remake. Either way I did not like the ending. It felt very flat for an overall amazing drama.
For the Japanese version it probably is. Now they are going to spit some American trashy remake like they are planning to do with Squid Game. They cannot do better so now they are just blatantly copying popular Asian dramas instead of creating something new.
This was nowhere as good as the other 2 seasons but it was still watchable... and then the ending came.
Netflix is trying to sell the same product they tried selling in season 3 of Squid Game and just to sell it they barely even bothered to wrap this one up properly.
Sooner or later all this greediness will come back to bite your butt cheeks, Netflix.
The ending was so bad that I wish this season never existed. The way season 2 ended was a much more decent wrap up for one of the best Japanese dramas I have watched in a while. So disapppointed.
Sure, the drama is far from being great and not that close to being good. The supporting characters were more interesting than the main leads at times, the romance and plot are overall disappointing...but to say the ML does not show any interest in the FL is completely wrong. I though this was like a one-sided thing because of comments like that. The ML does love her and definitely goes after her in several moments.
BUT at the same time he has a complicated family life and many insecurities, he believes the FL deserves him only at his best, as if he needs to be perfect to be with her. And yes, that can be quite frustrating and might make people think she should just stop chasing after him.
That was also the same reason why I thought this was an average drama and did not enjoy it as much as I thought I would from watching the first half or so. I also felt like some things were missing by the end of the drama but maybe that was just the result of me skipping a lot of scenes.
I hope this comment will at least help you start this with the right expectations.
The synopsis made it seem more interesting than it actually was and the ending was just depressing for no reason. This one definitely will not be added to my list of good short dramas.
I waited over half a year for the subs so I could watch it but it is so bad that I had to drop at episode 2. I just cannot stand how most characters, including main leads, are behaving.
This was way too similar to some other drama or short drama I have watched in like the past year or so. I even had to double check this just aired in August 2025.
For that reason I was quite bored because I knew more or less the development of the plot and who was behind her parents' death. The romance also felt very bland. Maybe I would have a different opinion if the plot was new to me.
Not bad for a short drama. You can tell they put some though into making this instead of just giving us fan service with no substancial plot and mediocre acting like most short dramas do.
Went in with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised.
Guys, so the couple will be married from the beginning?
Probably, but the ML is already married, has a main wife and a bunch of concubines. Not sure I will be able to enjoy the romance between the main leads. I am all for sharing food and other stuff but sharing a husband is where I draw the line. ^^'
I have previously watched dramas where the ML has other wives but I feel like the romance feels less authentic. I am ok with supporting characters having concubines and all or the concubine the ML has is just a temporary thing and he does not sleep with her but dramas where the ML actually has other women and it is not just for show, I have a hard time watching.
Yes, 4 episodes in wetv š after watching The Prisoner of Beauty. Another angsty married couple in the helm.…
Except in The Prisoner of Beauty the ML only married and had eyes for the FL. Here the guy has a main wife and a bunch of concubines.
The sort of drama that if I am even able watch I will have to be in a specific mood and will probabaly fast-forward a lot to try and not ruin the romance for me.
It aired today and people are already giving it such a low rating? Smh. I only even rate a drama after I finish watching or in case I donāt finish, the moment I decide to drop it, which is very rarely after watching only 1 episode.
She was not running from any wedding, much less hers. She was at home eating and listening to one of her maidās…
No worries, I noticed you posted it a few days ago so maybe there was less information then. Now that it started airing the synopsis out there should be more accurate.
Synopsis I found , I think its right :story mainly revolves around Gu Yuan (played by Zhang Junning) and the princess…
She was not running from any wedding, much less hers. She was at home eating and listening to one of her maidās read the book when something happened and she entered the story.
I have only watched the first 2 episodes but the last part of the synopsis you shared seemed more or less accurate.
Don't get these ratings, I thought it was pretty cute.
Same. I thought it was one of the better jdramas I have watched recently.
I liked how she was the one playing around while he had no romantic experience, instead of the usual virgin woman chases after playboy CEO or something.
This was something I watched while having lunch or when I had nothing better to watch. The high rating is probably due to the cast.
