Yeah, but since the FL here is the daughter of the main leads in GPG, her mother might have mentioned Europe a lot, also, the first episode of this drama has her parents go on a trip to Europe since the main leads of GPG are only guest stars here.

When I spoke about the references it was more for the people that are watching this one without watching GPG. Some things here will only make sense if people know that the FL here is the daughter of someone who time-travelled to the past.

If you have not watched this yet, I recommend you watch Go Princess Go first so you understand a lot of the references here. If not you might be left wondering why the FL is always talking about Europe, dresses differently and has a greek statue in her room. Watching Go Princess Go first will make the ridiculous stuff happening here seem a little more normal. ^^'

Although I agree with most of what you said, you might have missed the reference to Go Princess Go. This drama is almost like a sequel of that drama. The FL parents are the main leads of Go Princess Go and if you had watch that drama first then a lot of the ridiculous things that happened on this one would make more sense.

To explain it without spoilers, the FL’s mother travelled from the present to the past and taught everyone in the palace about stuff from the present, reason why her daughter, the FL here, knows words like cosplay, stuff like high heels and has a statue of David.

With that said, yes, just like Go Princess Go, this drama is not to be taken seriously. As soon as I saw who her parents were in the first episode, I knew what to expect.

Yeah, same. And I like pretty much anything zombie/survival, so they really messed up for me to be unable to watch it.

I could not even get past episode 1. No amount of love for anything Korean can make me sit through this.

No idea how this even aired. No one was able to get up and say: hey guys, this is so bad that it is embarrassing, maybe we should drop it and save our faces.

The actors did their best but the writing is all over the place. If this was not a short drama there is no way I would have watched the whole thing. Even with short episodes I felt the need to skip a lot of scenes because of how ridiculous they were.

True, but you would expect them to kiss at least once, even if it was in the last episode. And even if as Ziyuan she had to be more restrained, her true personality was very similar to Ren Anle.

Let me know if this ever gets subbed by someone other than mgtv. I know to stay away from anything subbed by them.

The first 2/3 of the drama were great. But then it started to drag. The ending was not that satisfiying (maybe because I have yet to watch the extra episodes). Also, for a drama that had a female lead that was so flirty, why were there no kisses? I am not sure exactly what went wrong, but after watching the first few episodes I was expecting more than what was delivered.

I am ok with quite a few characters, but like you said, the issue is when they get too much screen time. I find that usually 4 main leads plus about 15 supporting characters and a few guest characters is good. Here I felt like every few episodes there were new characters added that were not even that important and there was something about the storytelling that felt off. The cgi, editing and sound effects were also below average. I worked a few years with video editing so I notice these things and they bother me. Xu Kai deserves a better production than what he got here.

There are way too many characters. In some episodes the main leads would show up 2 or 3 times only and a lot of scenes were of supporting characters and the villains. I don’t like when dramas have many characters.

Even Xu Kai cannot carry this one but if you are a big fan, then I guess it is still worth watching just for him.

I know you asked for a reason to watch this drama, but I will give you one to NOT watch. There are a lot of better dramas out there and this will feel like a waste of time. It is really boring and badly produced.

It has been a while since I came across such a bad wuxia. The storytelling, the cgi, the sound effects, everything is so full of flaws. I am pretty sure the rating is only above 7 because of Xu Kai because the drama itself is a 5 or 6 max.

I was unnable to sit thought an entire episode without skipping at least one scene. I even ended up skipping entire episodes just to get to the end faster. Not even Xu Kai could carry this one.

Ikr? Japanese dramas are always a struggle. A lot less subbers compared to Korean and Chinese, at this point even Thai dramas are subbed more often.
