Can someone explain to me what is the main reason of Dex killing people?
Psycopaths do not need a reason to kill. They do it for fun. My guess is he killed his "sister" because he did not want to share their parents attention with her, specially considering she was the biological kid while he was adopted. And from then on, and just like he said himself, he started playing "God" by taking people’s lives because he felt powerfull doing it.

Title Stand by Me
Forget the drama poster, forget the synopsis, watch this as Luo Qi Qi’s journey, maybe you will feel less disappointed.

I liked the first few episodes, maybe until episode 10 or so and then the drama just felt like a bunch of nothing to me. This is basically about the FL’s life and I know this is supposed to be a realistic youth drama but damn, her life is more boring than mine. I was expecting a time skip at some point or something but the drama was mostly about her studying to become the best student while stuff happened around her. I related to her in some ways at first but that was about it. The drama lost me along the way.

Agree with you on all counts. Couldnt have said it all better myself
Same. I started watching dramas around 2010 and I am a picky person by nature. I have watched all kinds of dramas from fluffy romanctic dramas to full of gore zombie dramas. What I want is a well-written drama where it is obvious the writers know exactly where they want to go with the plot. This was definitely not one of those.

Glad I found someone who shares the same opinion in a comment section full of only positive things to say about this drama. ^^'
On Behind Your Touch Oct 7, 2023
This will be an unpopular opinion but this is not underrated at all, in fact the rating is way too high for what this drama has to offer.

The first half or so the drama was more on the comedy side and considering the whole seeing memories by touching someone’s butt, it made sense. But the second half went full on criminal drama...the problem is I have been watching dramas for over 10 years and am a huge fan of criminal stuff, and as a criminal drama this was bad. Sure, they kept you guessing who the killer was BUT what is the point of that if what they give us as the wrap up is full of loose ends? The ending was also pretty lame. Sorry if you enjoyed it and feel offended by this comment, but I really cannot stand writers who dont know where they wanna go with a plot.

This could have been a good romantic comedy, this could have been a great crime/thriller, but because the writer decided to make a soup with a bunch of genres, it was neither.

Sure, I enjoyed some parts of it, mainly the first half (me being a crime fan, that says a lot), but the overall experience was average and if I could go back in time I would probably choose to spend the time I wasted watching this watching a different drama.

Well, that was my opinion, an unpopular one it seems. ^^'

Yikes, after reading about his controversy it made him seem very similar to his character in Somebody, except for the serial killer part. He does not even see people as humans if he judges them based on their looks. I won’t be able to watch him in any romantic drama when I know now what is going through his mind when he looks at the people working with him, including staff working on the set.

They kiss at least once on a beach, but yeah
Imagine a drama that gives us a proper kiss the night before the leads marry. Yeah, they definitely messed up. If they focused on developing their romance and raising the baby it would have been a lot more interesting.
On Exploration Method of Love Sep 27, 2023
Compared to most dramas airing around the same time, this one was pretty nice. Not amazing or anything but pretty entertaining with a female lead that is not the usual weak clumsy needs saving all the time. In fact, she is manlier than the male lead. ^^'

Unfortunately, the subs are pretty bad. I watched with portuguese subs that were a little better than the english subs but were still not up to my usual standards. The fact that I even finished it when I am usually unable to stand bad subs says a lot about how much I wanted to watch it.

I am pretty sure the bad subs contributed to the rating. With good subs this would probably have a rating of 8 or above.

I don’t even remember that, might have skipped that scene like I did so many others. ^^'

I hate open endings especially in Chinese dramas because you are never sure of a next season but, honestly, this…
Yeah, I read it too. It makes sense. I would still like a second season. There are enough things left unresolved to justify a continuation but at the same time if there isn’t one, it is not the worst open ending I have seen. It felt like it was done intentionally, either to open the way for a second season or to cause mixed reactions so people would keep talking about the drama even after it’s over.

MDL comments are not always accurate, but, please, for your own sake, believe the comments on this one.

The main leads are roomates, there is no chemistry between them, I think they do not even kiss once for the entire drama.

The plot and character development are one of the worst I have seen for this kind of drama.

The female lead is pregnant but they never even bothered to give her a pregnant belly, she is looking thinner than ever for over half of the drama and then they just throw in a time jump and she is giving birth. If they did not mention it here and there I would even forget she was pregnant at all.

There is so much I could say about this one but to sum it up this is just a REAL WASTE OF TIME, no pun intended. ^^'

I watched both and enjoyed both. Each version has its lights. However, I went into the current version highly…
I am glad you enjoyed both.

I have a hard time enjoying remakes or dramas that have very similar plots, specially if I watch them the same year. The one I watch first will always be at an advantage since the plot is new to me.

I did enjoy some things about this version but it somehow felt off to me. The way the story was told felt old, like a drama from 2010, and compared to Truth or Dare this one felt like they had a lower budget.
On My Lovely Liar Sep 21, 2023
Overall, it was an enjoyable watch.

I suspected the killer from like episode 3 and halfway through created a theory about the motive, which my sister said, nah, no way, but then in episode 13 she started noticing some things and started thinking I was onto something and turned out I was right. ^^'

Still for at least the first half of the drama I kept second guessing my theories so the writers were able to keep me entertained.

My only complaint is how they dedicated 2 entire episodes for the wrap up. Half an episode, maybe 1 episode is more than enough to wrap up after the big reveal, yet they decided to go for 2 episodes. Even marketing wise, after watching episode 14, people probably were not even excited for the last week episodes so I imagine it impacted viewership.

This would have been a great 12 episode drama, 16 might have been a stretch.

Oh, so you haven’t finished it yet. Good thing I did not share any spoiler. ^^'

Let me know how you feel once you finish watching, we will join the Wufeng sect together. Last resort, we kidnap the director and actors and make them film the second season.

Sure, the trip was awesome but I felt like I was the victim of a robery at my doorstep as I was coming back from the trip and was left with nothing. ^^'
In the future when I think about this "trip", will I remember how great it was or the trauma of being robbed as I was about to step into my house?

I want to remember this drama in a good light so I need at least an extra episode that shows us what really happened. I have so many theories right now and some of them are pretty sad and frustrating to think about.

I really enjoyed this drama and for now I will give it a high rating. My rating might change if there is no second season or special episode or something. Too many questions left unanswered.

No matter how good a drama is, the ending is as important as the rest of the drama. I can accept sad endings even if I hate them, but open endings are a huge NO to me.

It is like someone saying they have something to tell you, start talking and are like: "hum, forget it, its better if I dont tell you". You start, you finish. It is very frustrating when you are left wondering.

I have watched other "do not take seriously" dramas that were not bad, but this one for some reason I did not find funny at all. The comedy feels like something out of an old cartoon, something I might have enjoyed when I was a kid, but as an adult I did not laugh at all while watching this.

It might not have helped that before I started it there were no indications it was that kind of drama.
I went in thinking the female lead would be a smart independent woman that is good at martial arts and got everything but that.

If you want to enjoy this, do not have any expectations.
