The costumes for the Qingyue disciples? I've never seen such ugly ass costumes. Basically two table cloths held…
They actually looked more like pillow covers to me but yeah, they look silly. ^^'

Before people come for me🤣.... Is it just me that feels like they didn't need 37 episodes for this show ...…
Definitely not the only one. They threw in so many unnecessary characters and subplots and the villain was pretty obvious early on. The only thing that kept me watching was the main leads and their chemistry.
On Generation to Generation Mar 17, 2026
I honestly did not drop it for the main leads. They had great chemistry and I liked the way they were written. Although their writing had flaws, at least they were interesting to watch.

But there were more things that bothered me than the ones I liked.

There were too many characters and subplots, the villain was pretty obvious since the start so I hoped it would at least be someone different (a plot-twist would have been great), the FL was so smart, able to catch on to the ML's schemes even tho she was in love with him but somehow when it came to another person she was also close with, she was completely blind to his schemes. Some of her decisions and things she said got my blood boiling.

The ML was also far from being a green flag tho...yeah, no doubt he loves her, but he is also pretty selfish, he kept using her to accomplish his goals, even if it meant putting her in a difficult situation where she had to choose between him and everyone else she cares about.

The last few episodes were a mix of boring and ridiculous. The fight with the villain was so over the top with blood flying everywhere, like no one should have been able to survive that and it was so noticeable it was fake blood too. The ending made me cringe.

Honestly I was really into this one for the first 20 something episodes. There were parts that I found boring but I was still enjoying it. For the last few episodes I was just playing games on my tablet because I could not even bother to give the drama my full attention anymore.

By the end of the drama I felt like I watched something that had so much going on that what was supposed to be the most important kind of got lost in all that mess.

I really wanted to love this one. It had all the elements to be a heartwarming family oriented drama with a bit of tragedy, comedy and romance. BUT the love triangle plot was so unnecessary and dragged way for too long. By the time the leads got together it did not feel genuine nor exciting to watch.

I am not usually so against love triangles as in most of them the second lead chases after the FL but never really has a chance since she only has eyes for the ML but here the SML is her first love and it takes her the longest time to figure out what she wants and reject him. If it was the ML giving mixed signals to a SFL we would all hate it so let's not pretend it is ok when it is the FL doing it.

I honestly stayed for U Ju.

There were several moments I skipped because I was not interested in what was going on and in my opinion this…
I agree with you that the push and pull is starting to get a bit tiring. This is almost 40 episodes long so they probably want to drag it for as long as possible.

I also rarely drop dramas just because I hate starting something and not finishing it. If I already wasted time starting it, might as well finish it. But there were some dramas I dropped because it just did not feel worth watching at all.

This one I have been watching 1 or 2 episodes while having lunch and before getting back to work (I'm a programmer and work from home) so it is easier to watch. If I was trying to binge-watch I might have been less forgiving.

People were saying novel is good and I believed them without reading myself lmfao this drama is awful and biggest…
There were several moments I skipped because I was not interested in what was going on and in my opinion this has way too many supporting and guest characters and backstories. But to say this is down right BAD is a bit much.

About point 1, the ML has been deceptive several times, and her master is someone she trusts blindly so her having doubts is reasonable for any rational adult. She is not a teenager that will just ignore everything everyone else is saying and just elope with her guy. She definitely has feelings for the ML but also knows them being together, at least right now, is "impossible" without consequences. The ML on the other hand might just drop everything and everyone if that meant being with the FL so I guess you could say he loves her more than she loves him.

I guess if you have little time to watch dramas and this one is not to your liking, drop it. There aren´t many chinese dramas airing right now so I am happy I at least have something decent to watch. This is not great but it is better than nothing.

The dragon in the poster looks like AI lol
Were you expecting a real dragon? Just kidding, I know what you mean. But for these low budget short dramas it is not surprising they are saving money on stuff like this and using AI instead of human artists.

Ep 22 was definitely a fun one. I was wondering why the ML did not call his bird so they could have less trouble…
Same thing when she was tasting the persimmons. Sure, he might have been worried she would get sick from eating so many at once but before he thought about that it looked more like he was worried she would figure out where to go too fast and their trip would be cut short. I am sure in the next episodes we will see more of him trying to delay things without making it too obvious.

I just love the character writing for this drama. Love both the ML and the FL.

Ep 22 was definitely a fun one.

I was wondering why the ML did not call his bird so they could have less trouble going through the mountains. It migh have been to not reveal their location but honestly, he probably just does not mind getting tired and taking the long way since that just means he will get to spend more time alone with the FL. 😂

it's good, let's wait till they write mls have dignity also and have something more important than falling in…
Exactly. He was living for his revenge. Once he got what he wanted if he ended up dying he did not care but now he has a reason to stay alive so it is only normal that he is so attached to the FL and keeping any potential threats (other men) away from her.

I agree in some dramas it is too much but here it makes complete sense for him to be so emotionally attached to the FL. He did not have motherly love, lost his father young, has been through a lot. The FL in the short time they spent together became his mother, his friend, his partner, his protector and also someone he wanted to protect. She is strong both physically and mentally, smart, beautiful, kind...it makes sense he fell for her and fell for her hard. Aside from his plans, she is the only thing that gives him hope and a reason to keep living.
On Siren’s Kiss Mar 3, 2026
Watched the first 2 episodes and so far it is decent but nothing that made me feel like I cannot wait for the next episode.

The 2 pretty obvious possibilities right now are:
- she is the killer
OR
- the SML is obsessed with her and kills any man that gets close to her + the woman because she was messing with the FL.

I am leaning more towards the 2nd. If either of these are correct, they have to create some interesting backstories so I will not be bored by the predictability of everything. Let's see if next week's episodes pick up the pace. I would love for this to have a plot twist like maybe the FL and the SML working together or the killer being the friend instead of the more obvious sociopathic SML.

I loved your take on this drama; it was right on point. I am so tired of the ML that does not know any martial…
In this particular case him not knowng martial arts was ok for me since he was pretty smart and the son of a minister so it was kind of expected he was more book smart rather than good at martial arts. But at the same time you would think with everything he experienced as a child and with his wish to protect the FL, he would at least learn some basics, at least some self-defense moves.

But yeah, usually I like strong MLs that are good at fighting. I also love it when the FL is also good at martial arts and does not need the ML protection all the time. If the ML is neither strong nor smart, then it is hard for me to like him...not impossible, but less likely to happen. ^^'

It all started when Netflix got involved in South Korean productions. Seasons that take years to air, 12 episode…
Same here. I used to watch mostly kdramas. Started watching cdramas in 2016 and in the last maybe 3-5 years have been watching more cdramas than kdramas because I keep finding them more entertaining, specially historical ones although there are some modern day ones that are really good too.

I like when I start to create my own guesses as to what is going on or what kind of person someone is by paying attention to their facial expressions, what they say and do, stuff like that. I also love a good plot twist but one that is not overexplained. I hate when characters spend minutes talking but saying nothing or when they throw in flashback left and right to explain every little detail. I could also rant about this subject for an entire day. ^^'

True. There are some good Netflix originals but they are usually the ones that feel like "real" kdramas. When they try to appeal to foreigners is when they mess up.

I have been watching kdramas for over 15 years and I enjoy them for what they are, I do not need nor want them to cater to this new audience of mostly teenagers that want dramas to be wild and have every single thing explained so they can keep scrolling on their phone and still understand what is happening on screen.

Not only the cultural part is being lost but everything is also being dumbed down (not just kdramas, entertainment in general). I have noticed way to often they are making the characters explain what they are doing or why they did what they did because the audience is no longer able to pay attention and misses important clues.

meh feels like watching avg dumb teens college theme movie from USA, k-drama really shouldn't aspire to make usa-like…
It all started when Netflix got involved in South Korean productions. Seasons that take years to air, 12 episode dramas being split into 2 seasons for no good reason other than keeping people subscribed for longer, hollywood like content with more violence, s^x and profanity and english ost to make it more "relatable". As if I did not start watching asian dramas exactly because I wanted to stay away from all that trash. Sigh

It’s called a difference of opinion. This may shock you, but sometimes people have them because not everyone…
That and different experiences too. I have been watching kdramas for over 15 years so of course I will be more picky than someone who just started watching and everything is original to them.

Also, some people do not mind turning their brain off while watching while others are bothered by plot holes, lack of character development and things like that.

It also has to do with how a drama advertises itself. I have watched dramas that were not to be taken seriously but that was made clear from episode 1 so I was able to enjoy it. When a drama has a high budget, famous cast and a popular theme that has worked well in other dramas (nine-tailed fox) I am going to have some expectations, expectations that were not met in this case.
