Thank goodness for the P.S. part because my mind was going "HUH??" ... lol
Exactly. The wife of the older son that died seemed to have more wisdom than the old lady. She was able to tell what kind of person Shiyi was from the beginning. Even the Princess who at first looked down on her changed her mind about her but the old lady realized way too late what kind of person Shiyi was. She had to almost die. By then any "sorry, I was wrong about you" would not cut it.
But like I said, without the old lady there would be no story. She was the cause of most of the trouble, especially because of her habit of getting concubines for her son left and right. Even the last concubine became the way she was because of the old lady’s actions. Madam Xu and the late wife of the ML were 2 pieces of work.

hahaha, yeah, it was kind of a rant cause that woman was DUMB. She always took the side of the women that were scheming against the family and always punished the only one that was kind and a blessing to the family in every way.
The FL was legit the one that fixed the relationship between the ML and his sons, she prevented the death of the heir, she was smart and protected the family from disaster several times, she was the ONLY woman her son ever loved and that made him smile, .... but she had to actually sacrifice herself for the family almost getting executed for the old lady to finally realize...oh she is not THAT bad. Sigh
This is one of those dramas that you hate to love. There are so many frustrating things about it but at the same time it is so well-written, realistic and has such excellent acting that you just keep watching.
We have to thank Madam Xu for driving the plot. If it was not for her wise decisions there would be no story. She had great observation skills and was always able to tell apart the people with good intentions from the ones with evil intentions. Her son’s feelings and opinions were also taken into consideration ALL THE TIME.
P.S. - In case you havent watched this drama yet...the second paragraph was full of irony XD
I have watched other dramas with a similar premise and with the going back and forth between the past and the present. The problem with this one was that there was not much to the plot to begin with and the showing the present right from the first episode was not done right and only made the story feel confusing and boring. If they had nothing relevant to show of the year 2015, then they should have started doing it only near the end or even dedicate the last few episodes just to that year.
The way they did it made it feel like they were just showing the characters as adults interacting in random situations that did nothing for the story.
I'm on eps 17 and it just slowly gets worse. The ambiguity with the present day 2015 is so bad. I don't know why…
Yup. I think that is the main flaw of this drama. The writers had no idea how to add the 2015 scenes in a way that made sense and that was not completely pointless and boring.
I know I recently watched a drama that did this same thing of going back and forth in the same episode but that one was actually good. Unfortunately, I cant remember the name.
Yup. The handsome cowboy is a thai drama that unfortunately I will never forget. When I started watching it I…
I do not remember since I watched it such a long time ago, but if it followed the anime then yeah, he was very loyal. Itazura na Kiss was one of my favorite animes back when I was a teenager. I watched it a bunch of times. XD

Playful Kiss was a drama I watched on fast-forward since I had watched the anime countless times and already knew the story so I did not get that feeling, but for sure in the anime I dont think any girl ever stood a chance. She was literally the only one he even saw as a possible partner, everyone else was either a schoolmate or a co-worker. But like I said, maybe the drama version did not do so well in that aspect because the story was told using real people.
I did not watch My Sassy Husband so I cant say anything about that one. But I for sure try to stay away from any drama that has the infidelity tag. Yikes
You mean Miss S? I just had to change the vpn to Australia and then create an account on SBS and login to watch. I used the desktop version. There were A LOT of ads but I was able to watch the whole drama.
I know this is a little bit out of context but be careful with that vpn.
The reason its free and has so many locations available is because users use each others ip to access the content they want. That means while you are watching dramas with someone’s ip, someone could be sharing child porn or doing other illegal stuff using yours and when the police investigates they will trace it back to you and you could get into serious trouble. Of course after a detailed investigation they would figure out it was not you, but is that one drama worth all the headaches you would get if the police came to your door to arrest you?
I used hola vpn myself for a few minutes to try and watch Miss S which was only available on SBS Australia...but I felt something was off and after doing a quick search on that vpn I found a lot of red flags.
If you can, a better option is to buy express vpn or another trustworthy vpn and ask for a refund before the 30 days are up. That was what I did so I could watch Miss S.
Dont be offended or think I am telling you what you should do, this is just friendly advice. I felt I had the obligation to warn you about the risks.
Although the premise was nothing new, this had a pretty good first half. I was actually invested in the drama....BUT for some reason the second half felt like there was not plot, no direction, just full of cute and dramatic filler scenes and flashbacks. It was almost as if the writers just wanted to keep the story going so they invited the actors to film extra scenes that were all packed in the second half.
So, if you want something cute for when you have nothing else to watch, I still recommend this drama, but be prepared to skip a lot of scenes later on as you will feel there is not much happening.
It's predictable until Junwoo reveal himself. Episode 4 to onward is such a lit !
I actually guessed that. My sister started watching before me and I was watching episode 3 the part before her father died and she came to my room and asked me if I had figured out who the main villain was. And I answered Junwoon?
I reached that conclusion because of his behaviour. A person like him would never work for a corrupt law firm and not feel bad about what they were doing to innocent people...unless that was not his true face. There was just something about him that felt off so I was not surprised at all when the factory scene at the end of episode 4 happened.
But his character is still quite unpredictable. I feel like he could snap at anytime and just kill someone with his bare hands. He has been very close to doing it to his brother.
I agree. I dropped it after 2 eps and if I hadn't seen an interesting clips on YT from other eps, I never would've…
Yeah. I dont know if it was for the same reason but for me it was the FL working for the corrupt people and also there was not much going on in the first 2 episodes. I think the pace picked up after episode 3 and it just kept getting more and more interesting after that.
I like the fact that they keep winning the battles. In most dramas we have to see the main leads losing all battles until they finally win the war against the villains in the end. But here they keep outsmarting the villains and winning the battles which makes it a lot more interesting to watch. Their teamwork is really good and the comedic and romantic moments do not overpower the criminal/law element and just add to the story. So far it seems like a well-balanced drama.
Yeah, I am glad I didnt. I have learned with time that I should always give a chance to a drama so I usually watch the first 2-3 episodes for shorter dramas and 10-15 for long Chinese dramas before I decide if its worth watching.
Thankfully the turning point for this drama came at the end of episode 3 so it was right before I decided to drop it. Had it happened in episode 4 and I might have not kept watching.
