Yesssss... New character introduced for season 2. I bet it's got something to do with that photo PE teacher found…
we really need more allies, considering that yoon hee will probably be the big bad next season along with dan tae and seo jin. also idek if logan will survive this season ;;
Some viewers seem so empathetic to the kids and to Ha Yoon Chul to the point where they are excusing their behavior.…
Preach this. What I like about this show is that it is just as much a social critique of the upper echelons of society in the guise of makjang thriller. Every character in this drama is responsible for death of Min Seol Ah as well as the hundreds of poor families and orphans who lost their homes. People like to excuse Logan and Su Ryeon because they seek justice for Seol Ah but let's not forget that both of these characters are also responsible for her death. Being well intentioned does not justify the consequences of their behavior.
I feel it's going to be the King and Queen against the world. I never trusted the concubine from the start. I…
I am totally here for the King and Queen against the world, aaahhh I can't wait. And I am sure thats where the story is heading according to the synopsis, because Mr Queen and King will work together against corruption in both clans. Hwa Jin seems two faced and likely to side with the Jo Clan whereas his bro is totally in love with Hwa Jin and doesn't know how to act and think beyond his hatred for the Kim Clan (which is very inefficient because they are the most powerful) so he will side with Hwa Jin. And the other friend seems neutral but he might also turn away from the King idk. So honestly, Mr Queen might be the only true neutral character who will honestly work with the King. We will see if there is romance. At this point I will brace myself for just bromance but I NEED them to be each other's partner and confidante
I doubt they'll sleep together, the King has priorities. Mr Queen is his priority ;)
I think that subplot is a joke because as we know Bong Hwan used to be a total player in his past life, but you can see that with time he is developing an emotional connection with the king. Like in ep 6 when the King finally offered his truce, he was left a bit speechless, and they will just grow closer with time, I am sure of it. I dont think Mr Queen romantically pursue Hwa Jin he is just acting out of habit and fun.
Also as for the King I doubt he thinks of Hwa Jin romantically, he seems to act out of duty for her. Earlier in ep 6 when his friend asked what the King was thinking about, instead of Hwa Jin, he is completely preoccupied by the new Queen and how she acts LOL also in the next episode they are not even spending time together because of what happens to Mr Queen. I feel like the King is starting to grow more distant from Hwa Jin and our Queen will be his first priority
Yep I would be sort of happy. Still the King is falling for Mr Queen not SY, if they go the route of the King…
Yeah I doubt they will do that, and I don't think So Yong and the King will have any chemistry, yeah its still Shin Hye Sun, but I think the King is falling for Mr Queen (So Yong's current reincarnation) because of how unpredictable and genuine Mr Queen is. But either way So Yong fans should not be concerned because I think we will definitely get more flashbacks and backstory from her side of the story. I do find her to be a mysterious figure with skeletons of her own, but I just don't see any possible chemistry between them if Mr Queen just goes back to the present day. I'm curious how they will wrap up the show and if we will get a happy ending.
I think ep. 7 preview is confirming the reincarnation theory. It seems like Bong Hwan/So Yong are probably the same person, and that would be the most fair route to take so that everyone in the fandom can be happy lol
It makes sense that Bong Hwan and So Yong are the same person because when you notice the hospital scene, Bong Hwan is in a coma when he goes back, which means that there is no Queen So Yong, it's just one person, if that makes sense. If there was a Queen So Yong, why would Bong Hwan in present day be in a coma? It's because there is no Queen So Yong and there is no body swap happening. Another thing I remembered is that when Bong Hwan has flashbacks about the queen's past, it is as though he is remembering things from his past life, otherwise it wouldn't make sense why he randomly starts to remember those things if he wasn't the same person as So Yong (but this one is still debatable).
Seems like I'm one of the few who is actually excited to see Yoon Hee and Dan Tae pair up. I feel like that would make her way more interesting than the annoying character that she is right now, being used by everyone and acting dumb/throwing tantrums when she doesn't get her way. YH and DT have a potential to be a very scary and interesting couple, because YH has this charm to get on people's good side, she is a very people-oriented person, whereas DT is just straight up ruthless on the outside. I feel like YH has the ability to really tackle not only the ruthless side of DT but also his past which I'm personally very interested in learning about (his aversion to blood). They could even go the route in the future and make YH like DT's weak spot which would be really cool because that would give DT's character more layers. And YH would also grow a pair in the meantime and finally start to play the game of the rich people and own her right to stay in the penthouse on her own accord. Personally Seo Jin and DT are annoying me right now because her intelligence and ruthlessness just does not complement DT and I can see that he is kind of getting sick of her bullshit too because she is so temperamental. What makes this drama really great for me is how flawed every single character is, and how even though everyone in the show is evil you can't help but root for them because the writer continues to give them so many layers and we get to see their motivations. I don't think it's completely ridiculous to make YH the killer of Min Seol Ah because even though I agree that she is a "kind" person, that makes her the most dangerous because she can hide behind that charm. I like the idea that when you are desperate to reach the upper echelons of society or when you try to compete with the people in the penthouse you lose your way along the journey to the top (ex: the foreshadowing when SR and YH have the conversation about SR jokingly mentioning that YH has the potential to eventually become the queen of the penthouse and reaching the top floor aka maybe with the help of Joo Dan Tae).
ommooo. oh yoon hee killed Min Seol A... that's scary..
That would actually make sense. There was some foreshadowing about SSR probably having to go against OYH. Like it was weird that SSR keeps saying that OYH is her person and promising her that no matter what she does OYH will remain her friend. And knowing that this is a makjang genre, I can tell they might make OYH the real killer. Would be pretty interesting to see if that happens tbh
Also as for the King I doubt he thinks of Hwa Jin romantically, he seems to act out of duty for her.
