Good movie and well make. The OST was great. So much killing, shooting snd brutality. Yeo Jin Goo acted against…
He was 15 when he filmed this movie and 16 when it was released. :D

It's very bizarre and unpredictable. Watching this film gave me all sorts of emotions. One moment I was laughing out loud, another moment I was cringing from the torture scenes, another feeling bad for the characters. A total roller coaster ride but an enjoyable one!

It's not even a melo, but I often find myself cry watching this. Recently in the latest ep, I don't even expect…
Fun fact, actor Heo Sungtae playing Lee Changjin really majored in Russian literature during uni hence he can speak Russian in this drama. He is really funny irl. He hashtags his Beyond Evil posts as 러꺼비 which is shortcut for Russian Toad xD.

He is a very sleazy character but I also can't help but laugh whenever he acts cute and lovestruck in front of Jihwa. I love how the characters in this drama aren't one-note.

YJG's performance at the end was crazy. The way so many emotions went through his face in such a short period. The amazing transition when his expression went from helpless, betrayed, in despair... to pure anger and fury. I'm just in awe.

Is this good ? I am currently watching other 2-3 dramas. I am planning to watch this one. How is it ??
It's a slow burn drama focusing on one serial murder case. Based on the 14 eps released so far, everything is tying up together and I really appreciate the amount of detail that the writer put into this drama.

Not a whole lot of action, but it's more of a study of layered and complex characters and how this serial murder case has affected their lives.

Great directing, very solid script, wonderful acting everywhere especially from the leads, amazing music, I love everything.

I thought HJW is already prepared emotionally that's why Dongshik keeps on asking him. Maybe he thought, his father…
True. HJW has no problems bringing his own self down so I believe that after this revelation, he won't stop at nothing to get his father punished.

When LDS first told HJW that he should also suspect his father, HJW may have been in denial during their conversatiob. But as soon as he got home, he didn't think twice about adding HKH to the list of people he must suspect.

Let's hope both Dongshik and Joowon get through this ordeal safe and sound.

Ohh! Thanks for explaining the rabbit part! I always replay that part, but now I understand!I really waited to…
Same I waited so long for HJW's backstory and the writer did not disappoint and now my heart hurts. It now ties up as to why HJW grew up the way he is.

He knew his father is an absolute POS but he at least thought of him as someone with integrity in his line of work. But turns out his father also didn't have that.

What a truly fitting quote. Forest of Secrets is a really great drama ㅜㅜ

I don't think there's anything wrong with enjoying either ships. I like to think of Dongshik and Joowon as soulmates…
Yup, I personally love both❤ I can't help but squeal when Dongshik and Joowok bicker like an old married couple or when one comes to the other's rescue. They started from a place of absolute conflict but we eventually see them develop their relationship into a great partnership, with both of them truly caring for each other no matter how hard they deny it.

As for Joowon and Jaeyi they also have an affection for one another, which may or may not be romantic. I'd like to see them develop their relationship even more in the end whether it be just as a very close friendship or something more.

Actually majority of the comments are talking about Dongshik and Joowon's great chemistry. Anyway I'm just saying both pairings are both worth enjoying. I didn't mean it as you trashing at them, I just gave an answer why people like both ships since you said you don't know why they're talking about JW-JY.

I don't think there's anything wrong with enjoying either ships. I like to think of Dongshik and Joowon as soulmates and with Joowon and Jaeyi, they both started sharing a mutual understanding from the moment they had a connection from not having their mothers around. Both don't need to be necessarily romantic but I see why people ship those pairings. Just let people enjoy what they like.

Ep 14 thoughts

My heart just broke for little Joowon. His mom was both suicidal and an alcoholic. Goes to show just how toxic it is to be with someone like HKH. Joowon truly cared for his mom but her being unstable, she ended up leaving a huge trauma to him. Hearing from his own mom that she would leave him behind to such a trashy man in return of being let go. No wonder he grew up the way he did. Alien to the thought of having a family figure to rely on. HJW said he never looked for her. So she was placed in a mental institution all along and probably died there as well? It took 27 years for HJW to finally find a place that would truly treat him as one of their own.

I've been trying to think where I saw the actress playing Joowon's mom. That unique smile wih anguished eyes just felt so familiar and then I saw the comment saying she played Seo Yeaji's mom in IOTNBO and it clicked on me.

I knew HJW deliberately told his father about tipping off the press so he can assess whether to fully suspect HKH or not. The press tip off wasn't meant to be a success or failure in terms of sabotaging HKH's hearing. It was meant for HJW to gauge just how much his own father is hiding. What I didn't know was that he set up even his own arrest too. His own arrest was the one intended to throw his father off the loop.

Kwon Hyeok is a very interesting character. He is a total wild card. He just wants full acceptance into HKH's inner circle, but like what HJW said, HKH only trusts himself. I used to find Kwon Hyeok to be suspicious for all his toadying but at this point ai also don't think he means to have any malicious intent. He will probably work to help with HJW after this.

So they're saying HKH got rid of landowners so they can proceed with the construction. Got rid as in killed? Like the bodies they found in LCJ's land were the bodies of those landowners? I need another rewatch to fully understand hahahaha.

In the episode HJW talked about wolves hunting down a rabbit. He created a fake chase to distract HKH from the fact that he had him bugged all along. In the flashback, HJW was holding a rabbit stuffed toy. At the end of the episode, he is actually the rabbit who gets cornered from all sides with this episode's revelation. The way Yeo Jin Goo's face went through all sorts of pent up emotions. When he walked out into the rain the way his face looked lost and in despair to fully turning angry and monstrous.

I love the parallel of Jungje and Joowon confronting their parents regarding their dirty works in the past. They played mind games with their own parents to find out the actual truth and it was glorious.

HJW's visit to his dad was basically him telling his father he'll give a tip off to the press regarding the land bribery so obviously his dad ended up prepared. HJW set it up as a test so he can find out how honest his father is, and his father coming to the hearing with a prepared lie is him realizing how corrupt his father truly is. HJW's contempt on his face at his father blatantly lying was amazing to watch. The thing is, HJW always knew his father to be shitty, but he at least believed him to be honest at his work. But this has proven just how trashy he truly is both as a person and as a policeman and there is more he must find out about him.

Why did HKH hire LDS in General Investigation Unit? I wonder if HJW is in on the plan of getting arrested during the hearing or maybe not.

I can't help but laugh whenever Joowon is intentionally pissing his father off.

I love Jaeyi and Jungje's conversation about making sure that Jungje will receive his punishment. It's like Jaeyi indirectly telling Jungje to not take the easy way out of this mess (doing what Jinmook did) and that he must face the consequences of his actions. It was a simple dialogue with them saying the same thing over and over but it spoke volumes.

I'm so glad Jihwa is divorced from that toad.

Unlike Mouse, Beyond Evil has more slow story and less action. And It has just one big case with so many mysteries…
Ep 7 is where it really hits how well the writer has thought out every piece of the puzzle in this drama. And now we're nearing towards the end the mind games these characters are playing still give me so much excitement!

The way Yeo Jin Goo controls his expressions is truly impressive. He can convey so many things through very small but absolutely detailed expressions and he's still very young. Watching his projects is always a joy because of the wide range of roles he takes on everytime. He really has a very bright future ahead of him.
