I agree for me she was so young and he was the first person besides her grandma and maids who treated her well. She was probably infatuated and at most it was puppy love. He was obsessed with her. The 2nd ML didn’t even treat her well when he saw her again by grabbing her necks etc.

OH I know LSY is not poor. In the book it shows how wealthy he is. I was saying that mostly poorer men of lower status will marry into a woman's house. If you watch the dramas my Heroic husband , the ML is a matrilocal husband. LSY would never become one. A matrilocal husband is typically looked down upon. So though the FL would have a substantial dowry but she won’t inherit her father’s title. She probably won’t even be able to pass on her title of county princess. Those titles are conferred by the emperor. The Lou grandma has a conferred title, I do not know the translated title but it’s something like a conferred lady. She gets a special outfit, which she wore while confronting the second ML, with a headdress with the title.

Women do not hold the title. Her dowry is impressive and her father provided alot for her. She married into the Luo family. If Shenyuan married into the Duke’s household and their kids took the Wei last name only their male child can inherit the Duke of Ying title. Currently her half brother Ting will inherit the title.
It was really looked down upon for a man to marry into a woman’s family and their children take her last name. This was done when their wasn’t any male heirs and the female family was wealthy or powerful and the male’s family was typically poorer in stature and wealth.

She also stayed in the palace longer than she had to preserve her son’s royal status.

When Ye Yun died she only had her two children to live for. She could only leave Ye Anshi to the care of strangers, so she placed all of her love, care , attention, etc it seems to me on her first child. Case in point when he clearly did something wrong and pleaded with her she didn’t tell the emperor all that he did and at the end she just wanted to take him away though he did many bad things.

She is a tragic character who is the catalyst for many things happening.

Cang Xuan wants to attack Haoling so by severing Xiao Yao’s ties with Haoling she stays by his side during the war. She won’t be blamed for taking sides.
If she takes the Xiyan last name than she will be considered the Xiyan princess. So if Cang Xuan wants to “marry her it won’t be as appropriate, since they have the same last name ( This is his thoughts from the book). If she choose the Xiling last name than it will be more appropriate for him to marry her. But she choose the xiling , which is her grandmother’s last name, since it is more compatible with Jing’s status.

He rose back all in red on a white horse, he probably wanted to freshen up after the battle, and had to either borrow or buy a horse. We heard his voice and he was wearing her jade strung onto his belt. Plus there is the extra bonus scenes.

They did have one face mask scene, where the guard was knocked out and the Princess’s henchman worse a face mask to pretend to be the guard.
