Also, they revered this ancestor all of their life. So it the FL is the ancestor’s wife, their female ancestor, than what is her relationship with her dad.? Is her family supposed to worship her too? Also, it’s kind of weird that you are your own ancestor.

Getting together with one’s mom is incest and gross however you look at it. I understand it’s the same concept technically but falling in love with one’s ancestor has several generations of separation. I get what you are saying though. Same concept that if it happens than you can potentially not exist, that is why time traveling dramas/movies are tricky.

He has the right to be angry but so do the villagers. I am glad that villagers were able to forgive and accept his mother and little brother. I hope that he learns to forgive also.

I don’t know what Lu Lu is trying to achieve. The man has a wife just because you admire him and your brother likes him you need to leave him alone. Also, would she really be able to handle being the wife or a farmer? I don’ like her intentions.
I agree that Xiu Xiu should have never let her stay at their home. Lu Lu is someone with ill intentions. Hopefully she realizes that she is wrong and won’t go after a married man, and I am glad that she left their house.

I hope that he realizes or his mom tells him later how the villagers forgave and accepted his mom and little brother. I hope that he isn’t blinded by revenge.

I read the English translated version of the novel awhile back. I don’t think that XJ liked HY back at school. He didn’t know that HY was a girl. I think that he admired HY’s attitude of not giving up. Maybe he felt some kindred spirit with HY.

There are some crying moments but there are some sweet moments too. It‘s not a sweeping romantic but realistic portryal of love born of understanding each other and going through hardships together. This kind of love is more lasting.

I am rewatching this drama cause I don’t have another drama that I am interested in watching at the moment. I am just thinking about how funny it was was that Wei Shiao gave Xiao Qiao 500 war horses to thank her. It just reminds me of a husband giving a wife a top of the line vacuum cleaner. It’s a very practical gift and is useful , but not romantic. Ha! Her reaction was great and he was so oblivious.

Exactly! Da Qiao gave a very human response. How many of us can willingly think of the bigger picture and sacrifice our loved ones for the greater good. We might all say that we will do it but when it comes down to it it’s hard to make that self sacrifice. She was also pregnant. Not to say pregnant people are selfish and cowardly but there are different things that woman consider when one is pregnant.

I can totally understand Da Qiao’s stance and am sad that she got so much hate. She should have asked her husband’s opinion though. But she was too worried and feared for his life if he knew. Again, being pregnant can sometimes cloud one’s judgement.

The FL is by no means perfect. She does make mistakes but she owes up to them and tries to rectify them. This dramas is actually better written than some other cdramas.

Again context matters, don’t just watch a clip and assume that is what happens.
I am rewatching this drama myself as I haven’t found another one that catches my interest.

She slapped him for a reason. He basically tricked her to get the seal of city from her. He then kicked her out of the city. When he heard that she was with her cousin he immediately believed that she willingly left with her cousin. He then put out a kill on sight order for her. For all of these reasons alone her slapping him was justified.
He does squeeze/choke her neck in a later episodes when he things that he tried to open his box. So in that instance he is disrespecting her by getting physical and abusive with her when he lost his temper.

I looked forward waking up to new episodes from this drama now I don’t know what to watch. Have to rewatch something else now. Hoping for a new drama that I can get into like this one drops soon.

In book she paid alot for a golden mask to cover up her mutilated nose. It didn’t heal well and was black.

She still plans to seduce more men so she is going to get the beat mask that she can.
