Because the audience they're trying to promote to is fan of the original. If a novel you're such big fan is getting turned into slop anyone would feel disrespected and sad. Changing a bit of the story isn't wrong but when you change the most basic foundation of the original story into something completely different then it's not the same story anymore. Atp if they change the characters names it will be completely different story. And most of the time the original authors probably don't actually get the right to intervene. Also they could be completely lying too because the original author may not be able expose them due to any contract rules.

wow did we really need a entire season for this? I mean the ending felt kinda Obv, it's either the participants succeed in escaping or the game just processeds as always, which was the latter. Hwang was as always useless. What did he go to the island for? All to ask his brother why did you do it and get ignored 😭 all those mercenaries died for nothing. And gihun can kill daeho for protecting himself but can't kill the frontman who betrayed him and was the actual one killed everyone. Yea frontman dying wouldn't have affected the game but so wouldn't have daeho's death. All the people who made it out alive even after the escape plan died anyway . Also i couldn't feel bad about yeonsiks death, he had the privilege kill any stranger but couldn't pull himself too but he sees junhee and her child and suddenly he wants to kill to live? Wish hyunju and junhee survived they were the only characters I was rooting for. Also what was the last scene supposed to mean ? That evil rich people will never die and continue the cycle of killing the poor? (Sorry for rambling so much)

I quite liked 10ep because it had the original taste and story of the starting eps which made fall in love with this drama. The park jihoon cameo is what you call a real cameo not wtv happened with yys!! Hooman and sieun in another life🤭 if they added nara in the scene it would've been cherry on top. 5-8 eps really drained me but seeing that this ended made feel so empty it's like I'm in a toxic relationship.
I'm very sad over seonjoo's death. I wish she burned those culprits to death instead of herself. She gave all those culprits a easy death in my opinion
Most of the time kdrama writers fuck up the story like when its 12-16 ep. Because they don't know what to do so they use these filler arcs to fill the time limit gap. But here this drama is only 10 eps! The ratings kinda seems to dip too
I suddenly can't feel the connection with characters anymore beomwoo feels not redeemable anymore i feel bad for yeonju but whatever happened in Japan i just can't wrap my head around it. also why does myungsook keeps hitting choonseung? They're Playing it off as that "bickering duo" but I can't sense that anymore. It's just feels like she's abusing him. And lastly that chef yeonghye, idk how she's soo happy after stealing someone's work. Do she not have a pride over her own work? I don't this ex and le murir plot added anything to the story at all. Couldn't they have kept this as just a flashback about yeonju's past instead of dragging it to prevent? I mean this isn't even a 16 ep drama and this type of plot is usually added to make one of the main characters realise their feelings but here they clearly liked eachother before all this melodrama. And why did yeonju say she hasn't found her dream or whatever yet to chef tatsuo? They made it seem it seems like she's gonna go back to le murir. Also why did she not question beomwoo when he bought those rejection letter? Does she actually even know his identity or not😭? I may seem like I'm nitpicking but this was my favourite ongoing drama and i didn't have any complaints about it at all till the recent three episodes. I agree about people are keep watching regardless but the reason it got the high ratings was because of the 1-4 eps and it already hit #2 on Netflix since the 3-4 ep. Even though there might be a lot of people who might watch it regardless still there are gonna be a lot of people who are gonna drop it or put it on hold because not alot of people have high attention spans these days. The chances of tv ratings dipping next episode is also high.
