NH, SYM, NF, SXY — all of them were just characters in the script of A Dream Within A Dream 😆
That after-credit scene is actually an extra fictional scene from the script written by the real writer — which is that female writer. And the one who called her was Director Guo Hu, who is the real director of A Dream Within A Dream 😅😅😅

I finally finished watching it, and I’m also sad that the drama has ended 😭

I thought the scene where LYT wears modern clothes and runs to LYN and they kiss wasn’t included 🤡 (I saw a reuters video from a Chinese netizen when they were still filming last year).
Turns out, guys! You have to turn off the “skip intro & outro” button first 🤣
No wonder after the ending, I noticed the credits section was really long, and the final episode was 50 minutes — I was confused why it was that long. Turns out, that scene aired after the credits 🤣

Anyway, I’m really satisfied with the remaining episodes, from episode 35 to 40. I didn’t fast-forward or skip any scene, and it didn’t feel rushed to wrap things up either. Luckily, it’s not like the drama AJTL 😄
The emotional scenes in episode 37 actually made me cry 😭 — it felt like the final episode already LOL. I totally felt tricked as a viewer 😂

i feel tricked by the writer — we even went as far as analyzing whether NH = NF 😆 and all sorts of other theories. But it’s okay, this just shows how deeply we, as viewers, got emotionally carried away by the drama 😆

Thumbs up to LYN and LYT for their acting, and also to all the supporting actors and extras — you’re all just as important as the main leads in this drama 😃
That’s something I learned in the final episodes 😆 — it’s like a reminder that supporting roles and extras are just as essential to a drama’s success.

And of course, i’m falling even more in love with LYN’s acting 😍

It was clearly shown when NF walked past SXY from behind while glancing at her and even gave a slight mischievous smile, i think.
There was also a moment when NF stood up, and the camera focused on two beads (like baoding balls) that he picked up from the table. At that moment, i wondered what the purpose was behind focusing on those beads

I’m waiting for the drama The Legend of Female General to air. Rumor has it, it’ll be released on August 5, 2025

I want to share my own analysis.

I think everything we’ve watched was actually SXY’s dream 🫢
Remember in episode 1, SXY was introduced as a lesser-known actress who had never landed a lead role?
So because she deeply wished to become the lead, she ended up dreaming that she was the FL — even though in the actual script of the drama, SXY wasn’t the main character. And NF had already started filming that drama.
That’s why the English title of the drama is A Dream Within a Dream.

Also, i think NF already knew SXY, because i remember in episode 1, after they finished the script reading meeting, NF walked out and paused for a moment while looking at SXY from behind.

From that moment, i had a feeling they already had some kind of secret relationship

I really like it when a c-drama is based on an original script instead of a novel adaptation.
That way, we as viewers can start analyzing and guessing the plot and ending — just like we’re doing now LOL 🤣

I’m sad that after this, LYN won’t be doing any more costume dramas for a while because he’s focusing on his upcoming concert.
But at the same time, i’m happy he’s going to perform… hiks i really hope there’ll be an international tour too (even though that’s probably wishful thinking ☹️ lol)

Today’s scene made me cry again 😭😭
The scene where NH got 60 lashes, and then the flashback from SYM’s father showing how sincere NH truly is.
And then the scene where NH was crying and begging SYM… ahh, LYN’s pleading expression and his tears totally made me cry too 😭😭 (And honestly, I’m not even blaming SYM in that scene, because i understand why she had to speak harshly to NH).
Seriously, the writer is doing this on purpose to make us pity the male lead 😭😭

And CGH is insane, right? Everything is always NH’s fault, NH this, NH that… 🥵, he’s completely blinded by that ridiculous grudge

And the scene where NH tried to make a fire was so funny 🤣 Poor NH, already injured but still putting in so much effort to make a fire just for SYM

The trailer for episode 27 LMAO, I feel like that’s NH’s expression after so long — like finally, his words are actually being believed 🤣

I can’t choose because LYN’s acting is so good 😭 whether it’s in AJTL, TPOB, or ADWAD

In my opinion, their characters are not the same. Nan Heng here is darker compared to Wei Shao and much more pitiful.
As for the silly and funny side, this character has that too, but i think Wei Shao is sillier and funnier 😅🤭

Overall, it was quite good and i enjoyed it. What i liked the most about this version is that they didn’t strictly follow the scenes from the korean version, so i could enjoy the storyline as if i were watching ‘Marry My Husband’ for the first time.
btw, from certain angles, the actress’s face really resembles korean actress Han Hyo Joo 😅

Swear to God, i’m so frustrated with episode 22 LMAO.
please open your eyes, SYM!!? 🤣🤣🤣
Finally, i can (hopefully) feel relieved in tomorrow’s episode. Hopefully in the next ep, SYM finally realizes that NH’s character is no longer like how he was in the original script.

and oh my God, why are there so many people trying to scheme against NH, acting like he’s insanely evil, when it’s so obvious the real villain here is the emperor himself towards his own son 😡

I’m starting to feel tired of SYM’s character (forgive me 😭🙏🏻). I know why SYM acts like that — because she still believes the plot from the original script is unfolding exactly as written.
But honestly, the more i watch, the more exhausted i get with her behavior 😂.
And now there’s yet another misunderstanding… oh my gosh, I’m getting so frustrated watching this 🤣🤣. The previous misunderstanding isn’t even resolved yet, and now there’s a new one — seriously!
I just hope SYM finds out soon that NH = LSL so the problem can finally be over, and so SYM will realize that her way of thinking is wrong too 🙃
