Finally itās going to air! Iām curious about Cheng Leiās character here because it seems like he has superpowers and his styling is kind of werewolf-like š And wow, Cheng Lei is really productive šš»šš»šš» right after LOTFG finished airing, this drama is coming out š
We need to understand this is a big novel squeezed into a 35min 36 episodes drama. So they can't show everything.…
Actually, there are some examples of drama adaptations from novels about "transmigrate" where the scene editing is neat and well done, with clear character introductions in the early episodes so we can really feel the charactersā backstoriesālike the drama Blossom.
Yeah, basically it all comes down to the poor scene editing š„² Like in the scene where HY becomes blindāitās only explained by a glass falling to the floor, and we have no idea why that glass scene suddenly happened, because there was nothing before it showing she was poisoned (as far as i remember, they only mentioned it through narration). If i hadnāt read the novelās synopsis, i probably wouldnāt have known she went blind because she was poisoned.š
I was watched AvenueXās review of this drama, and i mostly agree with herāespecially about the earlier episodes where there were so many plot holes and the character introductions felt way too rushed. It was like they cut a lot of scenes just to fit everything into a 30-ish minute episode. But! Since iām watching purely for ZY & CL chemistry and their fight scenes, so i decided to just let it go and turn a blind eye to the illogical parts of the story š
Honestly, this is just my personal opinion, after that episode with the scene āęåę”ęäŗ®ļ¼ęäŗ®äøē„éā (I really like that scene, hehe), I slowly started to get boredāup until episode 21 yesterday. Thereās a lot i could rant about regarding the scenes.
For example, when HY cried over her āShi Fuā who diedāitās clear that she was very sad, but as a viewer, i couldnāt feel any sympathy for her tears. Why? Because we never really got to understand what kind of close relationship they had. From what we saw in the early episodes, the only scene where they met was when HY woke up from her ācomaā and Shi Fu was by her side. And⦠thatās it. There was no detailed explanation of how big of an influence Shi Fu had on her. So, i just couldnāt feel the sympathy for Shi Fuās death or HYās grief over it.
Another example, the scene where HY and Huyate fight on horseback. You can clearly see the water is shallow and full of rocksāthey werenāt even submerged. When HY stabs the guy with her spear all the way through until it hits the rocky riverbed, you can see that the water is shallow. But then, when HY gets thrown off and falls into the water, suddenly itās deepālike she fell into a lake š Did she get thrown that far ?? But logically, no, the throw shouldnāt have been that far because from the camera shots of the soldiers fighting, that water was clearly not deep-lake water. And of course, our hero XJ swoops in at the perfect moment to save HY , like XJ is a psychic who just knows HY is drowning. (yeah plot armourš )
Those are just a few of the scenes i wanted to rant about. But still, i keep watching for ZY and CLās chemistry. As for the rest⦠i just turn a blind eye šāš»ā¤ļø
the screentime given for the master's romance is kinda crazy lol like why am i suddenly seeing their whole backstory…
ikr ! I feel the same way as you lol So i just fast-forwarded their scenes because i think itās kinda random and i donāt really need to know their story š Maybe they do have a story in the novel (?) Iāve only read chapter 1 so far
Can someone tell about Cheng lisu thing.... Like is the current actor is not first choice or what.. The who is…
The actor who originally played Cheng Lisu was Li Ming De, but due to a scandal involving him, his face was replaced with that of actor Li Qing using AI face swap
I think the first 5 episodes were overall quite good. I didnāt feel bored while watching and was always excited for the next scenes. Although i feel like the plot and editing in introducing the FL and ML in these first episodes were a bit rushed š but i could still enjoy it. What made me happy was that Xiao Jue realized so quickly that Hee Yan is a woman. I thought that plot point would be dragged out until around episode 20, but it wasnātāso iām glad š Did he realize it that quickly in the novel too ?
The difference is that on iQIYI, the resolution goes up to 4K, but since this drama is mainly produced by Tencent,…
From my experience watching on iQIYI, i think the resolution is truly 4K, with clear details that arenāt upscaled. I once watched Si Jinās drama on iQIYI as well, which happened to be originally produced by Tencent, and i could tell the resolution was genuinely 4K. But for me, the issue is the express package ā iQIYI doesnāt offer that. Because iām the type who will buy the package if the drama has a good plot āš»š
Any difference between watching on iQiyi and WeTV? Need to decide which to subscribe to. Not going to be watching…
The difference is that on iQIYI, the resolution goes up to 4K, but since this drama is mainly produced by Tencent, based on my experience, iQIYI probably doesnāt have an express package, so it should only be available on WeTV. But iām not sure yet, so letās wait and see :)
After a long wait, it's finally airing on August 6. I finally have something to watch again after the drama ADWAD. So excited!! Hope it wonāt be disappointing š
Iām so happy this variety show is on WeTVāI get to see LYN again, and thank goodness the subtitles arenāt AI-translated! and i really didnāt expect episode 1 to be this hilarious. I laughed so hard my stomach hurt š¤£š¤£
Can someone clarify this please? The script writer who enters the plot to take SXY back is male person but in…
Alright, hereās my understanding that iāve shared here before š So all this time, what weāve been watching is actually the real script of the drama A Dream Within A Dream. The female writer who appears in the final scene of episode 40 is in fact the actual writer of A Dream Within A Dream, Ren Zhuang Liu (I saw her in one of the BTS videos, and yes, sheās really the writer), and the director, Guo Hu, who calls her in that scene, is the real director of this drama.
Then thereās SYMās line to NH in the final scene where she says, "What if the fictional character's awakening and us successfully changing our fate are also part of the script? For example, what if the script is not Dream of Qingning, but A Dream Within A Dream?" So from that, itās already clear that both the modern-day setting in episode one and the added modern-day epilogue are part of the script written by the female writer š
As for the interpretation of the epilogue ending, many people have their own theories and debatesāwhether itās NH, or NF, or if from the very beginning in episode one, the person in the modern world was NH all along LOL
i cant put my finger on why but ML seems so much hotter to me in this drama than prisoner of beauty, i think his…
I agree. i also think LYN is better in this drama compared to his previous ones ā AJTL, TSOPG, and TPOB. In terms of makeup, style, costume, and especially his acting, he's improved a lot. In this drama, i like his acting even more ā like wow, i was truly amazed by all his micro-expressions. And he really has improved his acting. I mean, the proof is that so many of us here feel sorry for and sympathize with Nan Heng, right? š
Lots of C-drama starts great and directors rush for closing and it will ruin it badly at the end, but this is…
Yeah, I was worried about that too ā afraid that the last 6 episodes would be rushed just to wrap things up quickly and end up ruining the storyline. But it turns out they werenāt, and I really enjoyed them and was happy with the ending. Even though it turns out we were fooled all along by āthe real screenwriterā š
I have questions....can someone explain the fish thing? Why did NH know about Filming and intimate scenes and…
well just like what iāve tride to share about my understanding of the ending in my previous comment.
basically all this time what weāve been watching is the storyline of the drama A Dream Within A Dream. NH, SYM, NF, SXY ā all of them were just characters in the script of A Dream Within A Dream
That after-credit scene is actually an extra fictional scene from the script written by the real writer ā which is that female writer. And the one who called her was Director Guo Hu, who is the real director of A Dream Within A Dream.
Yes, basically all this time what weāve been watching is the storyline of the drama A Dream Within A Dream š NH,…
Yeah, we all got so into it as viewers that we even analyzed the plot and tried to guess the ending ā like whether NH = NF and came up with all sorts of theories. LOL š But aside from all that, iām really happy with these last 6 episodes
From what i understand, both the modern world and the ancient world are fictional. So basically, even NF and SXY…

And wow, Cheng Lei is really productive šš»šš»šš» right after LOTFG finished airing, this drama is coming out š
