I'm trying to contain my excitement for that rumor because the description is so good and he would look amazing as a general in period costume. I tend to believe something did happen with Zhang Jingyi because...well, I won't go into details. Having said that, how many dramas has he shot and he hasn't had anything romantic with his co-star? I'm always baffled when someone is critical of a drama and the "how many episodes did you watch" argument is used. How many should I have watched? I watched as many as I could and then quietly dropped it and moved on. I've been checking on it to see if it's worth picking back up which I said I'd do depending on how good the feedback was later on in the show. I'm not hating on this drama...i know several people have been enjoying it so my reply to OP was more about defending PXR as I believe blaming her for her drama choices is a tad unfair.
It's sad how little talent has to do with determining the success of an actress. PXR is one of the luckier ones…
Wow, I wrote a reply to OP below before reading all your comments and said, pretty much the same thing lol. I think PXR has just been unlucky, compouned with being in an awkward place in terms of her age. The industry is very unforgiving and you need strong backers, or something extremely outstanding to make investors interested (being crazy beautiful, widely recognized for superb acting skills, being in a boy or girl band, having been featured in a reality show etc.).
You know, the funny thing is I actually think PXR would have a great chance of "exploding" again if she collaborated with her err GMP colleague in a modern day drama or something like that, as so many other beloved, unforgettable couples have done. Not saying I personally want that to happen (I don't). There's always been rumors but neither seem interested. I can almost feel the excitement of the crowd if that were ever to happen, though. The future is still bright though, without having to do that, it's just that marketing is king and finding the right thing to hook people is so hard.
