The long ballad has 35,000 comments currently after 2 yrs. Fans of the drama still adding more comments. We all…
That's a tall order lol. At least on the xianxia side of things, I think this one is only topped by LBFAD. But when it comes to historical / Wuxia / non-fantasy dramas, that's another record. It's only been a bit less than a month since this wrapped up for VIPs though so I'm sure the comment section will keep growing, just at a slower pace. A ton of people wait until a drama has finished airing to pick it up.
Right? And here TTEOTM has 13 songs for the OST?! 😓
Yep...I heard it's twice as much as that for Immortal Samsara, which pissed some people off. It's certainly way more than TSL got. Both are S+ but the budgets definitely differ. TTEOTM is going for the grand, epic xianxia feel and it's doing the whole Dunhuang thing, which is what has so many excited. That requires a LOT of budgeting for costumes and sets.
It truly is very very hard to hit 20k comments on MDL and afaik, only LBFAD has done it, at least on the Chinese side of things, don't know about Kdramas. It speaks to how much it affected people while it was on air that they had so much to say and couldn't stop sharing their emotions.
Yes, I saw some BTS too and CXX was overwhelmed with emotions. Applaud!
He was so young too, only 21...and the intensity got to him. When that production wrapped he was in shambles. He cried many times and literally couldn't stop hugging the director lol. He's great.
Just yesterday, The Starry Love has reached 1 million views in youtube in just a month. Here is about to reach…
Also, is this counting just one channel? Because Youku has like 2 or 3 different channels where they've been releasing it so the views are kinda split.

Chinese Netizens are blown away by the popularity of TSL overseas. It's actually a bit funny to see. They even said that the overseas market can be a lot more objective at times because in China there is so much prejudice already about a lot of different things related to certain actors, platforms or genres.
I wish Youku would release the background music. I need the background music for the scene where YT runs toward…
This is the THING I've been waiting for the most. I use OSTs while I work and they're usually extremely useful creative tools, but for the life of me I don't get why they aren't releasing the BGM.
One of the few cdramas where I never skipped the intro or outro, and mainly because the OST for both were just…
I thought I was the only one, it was such a rush! And I nearly ALWAYS skip the intros but this one...I still vividly remember that kiss right before the episode started.
Tell me how you feel about the ending:A) You’ve made peace with it and find it satisfying.B) You are still disappointed. My…
I'll offer up a C) I've made my peace with it but I'm still not fully satisfied. However, I'm no longer *nearly* as dissappointed as I initially was. I'd go as far as saying I'm totally fine if they don't release any extra episodes.
Yes, I would have wanted more, but the drama was never supposed to be this sweeping romantic epic that took itself overly seriously. It's a subversive piece of fiction (as comedies tend to be) a self-aware critique of the xianxia genre and I feel like it exists in its own little class as a proper comedy that does almost everything right.
Given how close we are to our goal, how about we take some time to discuss the OST. Which one is your favorite song? For me, hands down Mao Buyi's "Flawless World". I consider it straight up ASMR.
The other songs are also great. Shuang Sheng's Flower Pair is so whimsical and well used within the story, and it rarely gets mentioned but I actually really like it. The opening theme is badass...and tbh I got so used to it that every single time a new episode dropped I got thrilled to see SDYQ atop the cliff with that strong instrumental intro.
