Xuanhuan is not a subgenre of Xianxia. They're both fantasy, but Xuanhuan is more like fantasy with Chinese characteristics whereas Xianxia is Chinese fantasy with taoist, cultivation and buddhist elements at its core, which usually involves immortal deities.

I agree.. I used to dismiss dramas just because there was no romance in them but then I started watching dramas with little to no romance and realizing how much I had been missing out on, case in point: Nirvana in Fire and Tientsin Mystic.

"Also Male actors gain more fans but the competition also way waaay more tough than Female actresses and anti activity against them too much more harse that female actresses." This is point black untrue and in no way negates my initial point. ZLH fans are free to wish ill as much as possible on his own drama, but as a neutral observer and data analyst, the universal truth that no artist is happy to be associated with a failed drama, still stands.

I'm...not trying to hate on this drama, but it being on top of Yunhe doesn't really mean much when the market is frozen now that LYF2 is severely underperforming. All data analysts have declared this drama essentially a flop as the Hot Broadcast average playback views per episode is predicted to barely scrape 25 to 28 million which is considered poor for a summer S+ costume drama. At the time of writing this is actually only 17 million which everyone in china was mocking yesterday. Edit: for context, Xi Huazhi, a much more obscure drama with a lower budget and no traffic actorss will perform better than this by a long margin. So whenever you read the charts, please try to read them correctly or you will get the wrong impression entirely.

I'm not a ZJM fan by any stretch of the imagination but in all fairnes, male actors usually gain way waaaay more fans than female actresses, mostly because idol culture in China is powered by female fans and those gravitate towards male idols more often than not. This is why female traffic actresses have on average far less fans than male traffic actors. I'm no ZLH fan either but I'm not sure he'd be as glad as you are that the producers and their "favored actors" failed, seeing as no one wants to be featured as male lead in a drama that fails or underperforms.

Honestly? I wouldn't recommend it unless you have nothing better to watch. I dropped it after episode 12. The story is oddly flat and dry, the acting and overall chemistry of the leads is passable but the supporting cast is weak. More importantly I kept checking everywhere and it seems the drama takes a nosedive halfway through and the ending leaves a lot to be desire. I'm changing my MDL status from "on-hold" to "dropped" with zero regrets.

Glad you can't go on Chinese social media then or you'd get mighty triggered considering the bashing this drama is getting on almost every front. Not to say they don't have CP fans, but the general consensus isn't positive.

haven't seen anything indicating that tbh, it doesn't appear on any charts or lists I've come across for series airing in that time period.
