Youqin's tears at the end are legit tears of joy. It would have been perfect had we gotten to see the girls back…
I think their form will be the exact same, that's always the case with reincarnation/rebirth. And yeah, I honestly hope people don't just start review bombing it because they're angry the girls weren't shown again in OG form. It fell short of that full blown happy moment of seeing them again, I get that, I wanted that as well, but it's not like it was a "sad" ending either. Like, I would still FULLY rec this drama, even if the ending wasn't perfect.
All right, just watched the ending and maybe it's because I was already prepped by all the comments but it was…
Youqin's tears at the end are legit tears of joy. It would have been perfect had we gotten to see the girls back in their original form but technically it's a happy ending, we just don't get to see the reunion as such. I also gather they will be reborn as immortals which is nice. Yetan tells Youqin that immortals live for so long he basically just needs to wait until she's back and he makes a promise not to perish until that day. With the actual twin flowers having bloomed, it really is just a matter of time....how long that will take, probably not too long, considering it only took a year for the flowers to reappear and with YQ and CF constantly feeding them their energy they'll probably fully bloom into their forms relatively fast.
I would have LOOOVED to see them back to their original shape but imho it could have been far worse than this. I would qualify it as an open ending but happy and optimistic, just not fully satisfying --- we wanted a full blown reunion. I also have a feeling they just didn't have time, it's almost like they ran out of time to go into showing the reunion. Overall I'll still rate this 9.5 - 10, still trying to figure out the exact rating. It was that good and I don't think the ending takes away from it tbh.

So seems most of the disappoinment comes from not getting to see the girls fully reborn...yet we know it will happen in the future, it's just not shown? I was really hoping for a super upbeat ending like with ashes of love but they really did go the bittersweet route.
what are the next project y'all will watch? i'm waiting for till the end of the moon, back from the brink and…
Back from the Brink if it does air next, will definitely check it out. Till the End of the Moon, Legend of Anle, The Long Promise I'm afraid will probably be summer dramas.
I think we can also measure individually based on the increase of Weibo followers, too. But I wasn't here since…
Yep! Considering how this drama wasn't headlined by any traffic actors, I'd say it's been pretty successful. I don't think anyone expected anything from it and yet it took a life of its own purely based on a brilliant script and great acting.
