It's been dubbed quite fast in other counties already
I saw a clip in Korean and it's apparently going to air in Thailand as well. It deserves a wide audience for making this genre so bright and fresh again.
Is anyone surprised that Husui is going to be the end boss? Everyone always thought Husui was super sus. We've been saying this from the very get-go and I've seen it on places like Douban and FB as well. Like, yes she has a very strong sob story, but that's exactly why she had the potential to be so dangerous. She reminds me of Runyu in AOL. Characters like her end up getting swallowed up by their hatred, which is why Yetan couldn't kill the HE...we needed that contrast between someone who is able to let go of the hate and someone who can't.
I just found out that the actress who plays Heavenly Empress is younger than the actress of Jia Lou Luo and Hu…
Yep...it's crazy, speaking of ages, our main quad is interesting too: HXL just turned 31, CXX is 26, Chen Muchi just turned 26 and Li Landi is only 23. I honestly though CMC was younger and Li Landi was older. I didn't expect HXL to be the oldest of the bunch.

I mean more the way the character is used. She doesn't play a big role and the ML doesn't waste any time on her. The script is super economical with her. She's more of a caricature/parody whereas in other dramas she'd end up getting tons of screentime.
Such a well written drama but even this cannot escape the usual trope of an annoying cousin who is completely…
What I like about this drama is that it doesn't necessarily seek to avoid clichés and tropes but use them in new and creative ways, or go as far as subverting them. The annoyingly in love cousin is one example.
I saw a comment elsewhere questioning Yetan's ability to off a certain character and I have to disagree... more…
A being with thousands of years of cultivation like the Void Tyrant and do it so easily, also questioning how QK and YT were able to learn how to use their powers right away with zero training and I'm scratching my head here because I don't know if we're watching the same drama? They don't require any training because it really is a very simple power: the ability to absorb pure and turbid air.
Literally all Yetan needs is for Suzhi to tell her to focus on draining others of their power, by grabbing them, later on she doesn't even need to do that. She's basically a dark power vampire. There's no need for cultivation or training because their power isn't about casting spells, it's inherent to their spirit. I mean, there is a reason the twin flowers are so dangerous and the 4 realms came together to destroy the Dongqiu tree. They literally have the power to open guixu and end the universe.
I personally thought the way Yetan marched into the Void realm and disposed of the Void ruler so fast was badass af and perfectly in keeping with the pace of the drama. Why would Yetan need to spend an entire episode or who knows how long trying to "master" her newly found "ability"? It would only mess up the pacing and make the story saggy for no real purpose when we know what's coming.

I love that both CXX and LLD are getting so much praise for their acting talent and that the dramas deeper themes are being explored.
