Need to let out my pov in just one post to avoid ruining people enjoying this drama:

This drama has just become the "talk of the town" among Chinese viewers for this summer so far, though it ends up on negative word of mouth for Yang Yang. I have liked Yang Yang's past work such as You Are My Glory with Dilireba, but the fact is his acting is indeed has lots of room for improvement and the "antis" use this loophole to escalate the matter to current situation. I do feel sorry for Yang Yang though, he must've not expecting this situation to get out of hand like this.

As for Wei Daxun, it is true that he "BOOM"ed and gained a lot of new fans from this, his "gray" shaded character is fresh for domineering CEO range and his acting is good, not to mention all his scenes are angsty and cinematically shot. The contrast of his goofy image in Variety shows as opposed to the cold-restrained elite in the drama is a highlight. Now dont get mistaken, I'm not a fan of Wei Daxun and not going to be one in near future, I even have more preference for Yang Yang, but it was Wei's good performance compared to Yang's below par performance that fueled the viewers further. Now not even the antis, but neutral audience are also criticizing Yang against the backdrop of Wei.

Wang Churan is just a new actress got sucked into this mess because she's a partner of Yang in real and reel life. I feel pity for her, she's young and a newbie, but now the word of mouth for her is getting negative too.

Shhh..Vlinkage, Datawin, Weibo Hot Search, Douban Ratings all can be bought or manipulated. There are whispers that douyin(chinese tiktok) has the most authentic users (but you can still manipulate the push 😂)

I agree, I thought this was an unpopular opinion, ironically Zhao Lusi is one of my favourite actress but I have a hard time trying to enjoy Hidden Love > <

Su Zaizai and Zhang Lurang chemistry:
the actors Zhang Miaoyi and Zhou Yiran are still raw and can be polished, but naturally fit their characters. The way they look at each other and the wholesome hugs they had made me believe in young love all over again hahaha 💕

It was a pleasure watching their audition clips from three years ago ^^

Same here, I rarely watch these 'childish' school dramas, but something about WIFTY made me hooked, thanks to the baits by those Tiktok reels. The drama has a special nostalgic vibe that remind adults of the youth left behind.

I share the same thoughts about FL, never seen the actress before, but she's so likeable and natural in this role! I couldn't resist her sunshine so I truly understand why Zhang Lurang totally got sucked in 🌞

A feel good innocent romance and coming of age drama made full or heart and care

PROS:

-Effective cinematography and shooting styles, I also love how the changing four seasons is shown throughout. The accompanying OST are wonderful too.

-Beautiful lines and quotes, among my top favourites:
Ep1: The rainy day that disappeared, I really want to get sprinkled again
Ep 5: If time can be suspended, I hope they will always be my good friends, the kind that never leave

-Green flag characters; the main characters in this show have positive outlooks and actions in their life

-Female lead Su Zaizai is one of the female lead with most positive attributes in Cdramaland - bold, cute, kind, chivalrous, brave, able to stand up for her rights and help others in need, and more mature than what her energetic personality suggests. Her sunny disposition rubs others in a heartwarming way(including the viewers such as me).

-Male lead Zhang Lurang is an introvert but unlike negative introvert characters in the past, he's reactive to Su Zaizai's advancements, it's a two way arrow. His little smiles which keep growing by the finale is adorable to watch.

-The 'squad' of 5 is adorable, their friendship gives off a special feel to adults like me, something that I may once feel back then in my schoolyears but get lost in time as time goes by and adulthood takes over. One of the most effective friendship scene where I shed my tears is when Su Zaizai found the rest rummaging the trash to help her. Great shots, great emotions felt without much dialogues or exaggerated emotional outputs.

-There are not much about the family members, but they are nicely depicted to show how Su Zaizai and Zhang Lurang grow into their sunny vs introvert characters. Other than that, Guan Fang's grandma has some of the subtly emotional scenes of the drama, and I also feel for Zhang Luli. His talk with Su Zaizai tugs at my heart.

-There is no prolonged third parties or major incidents in the storyline, most issues got resolved within 1 or 2 episodes.

-24 episodes at 30-min runtime is just nice, the pacing is comfortable for a leisure binge or daily watch

CONS:

-The female lead might feel too shamelessly into the male lead in the first few episodes (it gets better as male leads reaction gets more obvious and more of female lead's positive personality shown from episode 5+)

-Storyline is generic and lack of dramatic twists and turns in the plot, it's a flat slice of life drama about some kids growing up into adults, full of youth romance tropes

-The romance is innocent, even their kisses at the end feel innocent though sweet, there are no steamy romance and intense sexual pleasure

-There is not much details towards some other characters and sub lines in the end, such as Zhang Lurang's parents

- Their daily school-college-work life feel too idealistic and gave off a dreamy vibe, lack of touch with realism

OVERALL:

It's a story of a little sun 🌞 and a sunflower 🌻 finding and 'flying' towards each other. Must watch if you like coming of age genre with an innocent, pure young romance done exceptionally well. One of the best in this genre. Stay far far away if you want intense romance, dramatic issues, dark characters, tragic events, harsh reality...

It's interesting that different people see things differently, Su Zaizai and the word annoying don't go together in my book hahaha

I absolutely love Su Zaizai. She's a ray of sunshine and very cute without trying too hard.

I'm up to episode 15, by now many other ladies might be smitten by Zhang Lurang, but instead I love Su Zaizai so so much. So bold and sincere! No wonder Zhang Lurang can't resist her, I can't resist her "brightness" too!

As others have said, the plot of this drama is too simple and fluffy, but maybe it's also the simplicity and familiarity that touches our heart. I can tell that the director put his heart into this work ❤️

Same here, I'm also at episode 6 and I can understand now why this drama is rated so high at 9.0. It's my first time watching this director's work, he's good, the setting, the cinematography, the angles, and even the BGM are beautiful. The little quotes are also full of emotions. I love the addition of the Video cam and polaroid effects, so nostalgic!

6 episodes in because of pure curiousity since some clips popping up in tiktok, the drama is so much better than what I expected even after reading the raving positive comments, it triggeres the nostalgic vibe of high school and beautiful friendships, and truthfully I'm not young anymore LOL

I can't believe I teared up when Su Zaizai found the squad rummaging the trash to help her..what a beautiful and effective scene 😭 ..The settings, cinematography and scenery are good, so unlike typical childish school drama, I'm going on for more episodes! This drama has a heart ❤️

Haha you summed it so well, because I'm a mature audience, I love the maturity that the beard adds to his face..I didn't got charmed by his squeaky clean- decent pretty boy vibe before, but the beard styling pulls me in...
