I'm also talking about the drama characters. What do you mean? EDITED: I meant "Siwon's character", because at that moment I didn't remember the character's name in the drama. I'm not very good at remembering Korean names. Maybe that's why you were confused. I have corrected it now.
Choi Siwon is a good actor, but the plot is very old-fashioned and the way they wrote the heroine reminds me a lot of She Was Pretty. Even the hairstyle and the clown chunky black shoes.
Playboy boyfriend so a possible minor cheating trope at the beginning...the series looks good though
The one who is a cheater is her boyfriend that dumps her in episode One. It's not Choi Siwon's character, Dr. Sim. Dr. Sim has changed numerous girlfriends in the past years, but that's because he has never fallen in love. He doesn't have two of them at a time (cheating). (Edited for clarity)
How did mdl attract viewers who are specialized in hating on fl and actresses and nitpick on everything a female…
Ιt's not only here. You should see Viki Discussions. And elsewhere as well. And, while I agree with you that there's such a tendency in some vicious females, there's also another portion of us who protest when the female characters are portrayed as weak, clumsy, klutzy, naive, impulsive, prone to misunderstandings klingy, alcoholics but at the same time adorable, bubbly, pure, old-fashioned, filial and respectful to elders. They always trip and fall, they make fools of themselves etc. And it's even more despicable that most of the time it's women writers that do us such a disservice. Some of us are simply protesting that Asian stereotype of the vulnerabe, silly but lovable woman. Which used to be the norm since I started watching k-dramas in 2016, but in the past 5-6 years we've seen a gradual shift away from it, which is great. While it still persists in Chinese cinema - where it's also matched with a 5-year-old voice. But lately even the Chinese have offered a couple of dramas where the heroine is not like that. For instance "Lighter and Princess" and, more recently, "The Double", where the heroine is really wonderful.
If you are sensitive to violence, torture and the like, during episodes 19 and 20 and also 27, be prepared. Open Notepad, make a long and narrow window, big enough to cover the centre of the screen but leaving the subtitles visible, and keep it minimized on the taskbar; and whenever you see the vicious magistrate, or in ep. 27 the narration of how the Diviner became a diviner with his mentor, from the moment you see the burning coal, be ready to bring it up to cover the center of the screen. (Sorry I didn't mark the precise timing).
Totally agree. Second Male Lead already lost his opportunity. It time to accept defeat and leave.
Of course, she shouldn't go back to him, we agree on that. What I'm saying is that, apart from that, he's really mentally unstable - and that's one more reason for her to keep away - not faking it.

We also heard him discuss his condition with his agent. (And someone who would think to fake a mental condition to manipulate someone would be unstable anyway!)
This is probably just me but I was annoyed with the non-consensual kiss at the end of ep 4. Lemme vent in the…
What non-consensual? He went on slooooow motion and she stood motionless and closed her eyes. And it was a very simple tentative peck, nothing much. Even later, when they discussed it, she said she got confused or dazed or something, she never implied she felt forced.
