I’m actually still really really enjoying this. I love that the mystery keeps growing, but as it grows it involves each character in the drama, meaning they all play a key part in this mystery, it feels like everything is coming together perfectly for a big ending where everyone will have a role to play. Also (I might be the only person but) I’m still so invested in the leads relationship, for me it’s a proper epic slow burn romance with so much love, care and longing on both sides. And finally I just love the friendships in this drama, any scene with Ga Ram and Myung Jin is entertaining, but when you add in Jae Yi and the CP they get even better. And I liked the reveal, because I’ve been such a fan of Tae Kang and Jae Yis interactions!
on Viki it says the 29th, but I think there might be some confusion because someone messaged the production team and they said an international release is coming, but there’s no official date yet. I really hope it’s the 29th, but they said it was only the screening in Korea on the 29th.
fluke’s ability to have chemistry with every partner he has is becoming a problem, because I don’t know who my favourite is after loving him and First in ‘Shipper’, then him and Aun in ‘Enchanté’ and more recently him and Thor in ‘Warp Effect’ - their chemistry was so insane in that so I thought i wouldn’t love Thi and Zo here, but they’re so adorable! Fluke how do you have chemistry with everyone!?
These leads are great on screen together I could seriously continue to watch these 2 crush on each other, be all smiley, awkward and go one cute dates for another 10 episodes- I was giggling non stop. Weirdly to me it really almost doesn’t feel like the same drama as it was in week 1, but it’s a lot better so I don’t mind
I always defend short kbls, because they’re so short of course characters won’t be completely fleshed out, the story will feel rushed, the production will be messy, the acting may not be the best. But then every now and then a short kbl comes along like Where Your Eyes Linger, semantic error or Blueming and they prove that you can make an absolutely amazing drama even though it’s extremely short and this feels like it could join that list of those other amazing dramas, I’m loving every second of this. Ki Tae is quickly becoming one of my kbl favourite characters.
I this Suar is so underrated - he gave such an amazing performance in Youre my Sky - he was definitely the stand out of that drama for me - he’s talented so I’m very happy he’ll be back on our screens soon with this!
Agreed. They definitely weren't expecting to air first so I am convinced that's why editing and production are…
Exactly! I so wish we had had MML to establish Uea and Kings relationship too! I would’ve really loved to have 8 episodes of them bickering and getting to know their characters, so we’d already be attached to them when Bed Friend started.
I think I went in with my expectations so extremely high and I’ve just come to realise that this has become my trashy show that I enjoy (less so ep4 because of certain scenes, but still). I do think the acting gets better every episode, I also seriously love the character of Jade and in my opinion the storyline is more coherent than Cutie Pie, but it’s still not amazing and kind of a mess when it comes to the production side of things. it’s way more like a soap opera than I was expecting, but I enjoy some soap operas - so basically overall I’m having quite a lot of fun watching this, but techinally it’s not good.
wait wait wait! why is this so good!? The first 2 episodes (by Korean BL standards especially) were actually amazing! They’ve built this story and these characters so perfectly and it’s edited so we’ll. Dramas like this remind me that you can build the foundations of a really great story in under 30mins - you don’t always need +1hr. I’m actually a little bit obsessed with this! How am I meant to wait a week!?
my friend kept saying how adorable this looks and I told her she should go read the manhwa first because it’s not a cute story at all, it’s such a toxic and messed up friendship/relationship- I’m interested to see how dark they go with this because the trailer looks quite fluffy…and how people will receive Taehyun - I find him to be such an intriguing character.
This really does get better with each episode! I was feeling absolutely zero chemistry between the leads in episode 1, but it’s really really grown - then we even got that moment in episode 4 (it made me actually go “woah”)! I’m also just really loving the exploration of drinking culture in this - I’ve watched a lot of Kdramas - most of them drinking is a big part of them - but I haven’t seen any that specifically focus on the culture of drinking like this - and every country has a different drinking culture so I’m enjoying this glimpse into koreas! Definitely looking forward to next week!
I can’t wait to see what roles will be in Roh Yoon Seos future - she’s so talented and it’s so early in her career, but she really shone here sharing the screen with extremely talented senior actors! All the young actors did an amazing job though - I hope to see Lee Min Jae in something soon too because he was so fun to watch - very charismatic and charming.
I find myself forcing myself to watch this because some of the locations are gorgeous, the majority of the cast is talented and it’s filled with some seriously beautiful shots, but I’m so lost on what’s going on - maybe someday there will be better subtitles and I’ll be able to enjoy this, but until then - I’m out.
I feel like visually this is stunning, but the subtitles are so bad l have no idea whats happening - I’m constantly so confused. it’s a shame because it feels like their ruining what could be a really interesting series, but it stops being interesting if I have to rewatch every single scene 5 times to try and understand what the subtitles mean.
