Netflix needs to stop splitting shows in half like this so that one “season” is about the lead falling in love with one character and the next season is them falling in love with another person. They did the same thing with My First First Love and if they spend so much time setting up the story between the second male lead and the female lead in season 1 then of course people are gonna have a hard time when the drama completely shifts gears in season 2.
I agree with you that the show is a car crash. But who are both rapists? I cannot understand what you're saying.…
Yong Jie is a rapist, because he slept with someone when they were so drunk they couldn't walk and he got him drunk with intention of sleeping with him - If someone so drunk they can't walk then they are in no position to consent. And the second guy is the higher up at the company - he drugged muran who also could barely walk and his intention was to sleep with him which would again be rape. So I guess the second guy was a intended rapist - but that's only cause he was prevented by LiCheng. The situations are so similar to me so I guess I was trying to understand why some people see one as romantic and the other as bad, when essentially they're the same. Maybe I just can't get behind romanticising rape because I had a friend who went through a situation a lot like this and it destroyed them - so I can't get my head around people ever viewing that situation as something sweet.
Um...I just...what even is this drama. I do still like the main couple, but the drama also just feels like a car crash. Also I'm shocked that 2 characters essentially had the goal of rape and the drama narrates one as a sexual harasser and the other as a victim... nah they're both rapists, but the "victim" actually committed the rape and gets away with afterwards manipulating the real victim. I'm not a PC police kind of person, but I don't see how anyone could see the situation as the writer has tried to present it - am I missing something? Is there some reason I should be okay with this because people clearly like them? Anyway I still like the main couple mainly cause I love LiChengs character - but I'm just get exhausted and mad when thinking about the rest of it.
This drama drags my emotions all over the place - one minute I'm crying, the next I'm laughing and the next I'm doing both at the same time. Such an emotionally rich drama - it's early, but it's shaping up to me my idea of a perfect drama.
Out of the 150+ dramas I've seen I've ranked less than 10 a 10/10 - but this is definitely one of them. After ITSAY I didn't actually think another Thai drama could compare, but the warmth, love and healing this drama emits is so unique and unexpected. Just such a beautiful watching experience. Thank you gmmtv!
My life had a lot less stress before I fell in love with these characters and before I cared about this drama. The stress of the back and forth of it coming out or not coming out is gonna actually kill me before the trailer is even released.
I'd love to see him in more dramas, he's really natural, charming and charismatic in the roles I've seen him in - I'm actually surprised thus far he hasn't had some bigger roles.
I think we all new when the trailer was released that this would be one of the last dramas of the gmmtv 2021 line up to be released. We also all know that it'll be worth the wait though!
I hadn’t heard of this drama at all. I don’t watch many cdramas because I find it hard to get into a lot of them and I’ve never actually loved a non-historical cdrama. But this article made me take a chance with this one and the first episode was kind of brilliant! Thank you for writing this article and helping me to find this drama - I’m truly hooked!
TK’s the subject of season 1 episode 8 “Lost & Found”. He’s a sweetheart who just wants a friend and he ends up being the person Nanno is the most human with. She seems to be genuinely affected by him and feel something for him, so a lot of people want him in season 2.
The acting was great, but felt misplaced, because it's just not that big a deal...hopefully there's more to the story and we find out there's an underlying reason for the tears, if not it just feels ridiculously over dramatic and out of character for Gene.
I still like the main couple quite a lot, I really like Charles Tu's performance, he brings this great energy and naiveite to Li Cheng and I enjoy watching him on screen. I also like the set up of the relationship between MuRen and him - their long time friendship feels believable to me and I like it as a foundation for their potential romantic relationship. Some of the things their characters do and say is stuff I didn't think would still be a part of BLs in 2020, but overall I still like them. The second couple though, I had to fast forward through their scenes, I don't get what they're trying to say with them, but I really don't like it, it made me feel a little sick - so I'll be continuing for the leads, but skipping over the second couples scenes. Sorry.
What a great lead pair, both brilliant actors, both gorgeous and you can already tell they'll have great chemistry- On a side note though when's Jung Gun Joo gonna stop being the sml and finally get an ml role!?
Park Sang Nam was really the stand out for me in this. I really disliked his character in Twenty Twenty and so I was surprised that almost immediately he became my favourite in this and that carried on throughout the whole series. I hope to see him as the ml in something soon - I think he'd do a great job.
I'm only halfway but the plot is super unique. I'm really enjoying it. It's fun, light, cute and sweet. It's been a little while since there's been a good fantasy rom-com and as that's my favourite genre I'm so happy I found this.
I personally found the chemistry of Liz and Kyro to be really lacking and on top of that I didn't love their story, but I rewatch Smile and Badz's story all the time.
All we ask for every year is to let Kim Seul Gi get more fl roles...please let this work out- even though its a webseries, when she really deserves a full length series. I still have hope it'll happen some day!
