Adding Malicious Empress to my list to read! I just need to find it somewhere....

I liked it. Her revenge plots were so deliciously fitting! First thing she did was get her engagement to murdering Prince cancelled. And other lovely chaos ensured. Example, in her first life the evil concubine and daughter plotted to have her be kidnapped by bandits, thereby ruining her reputation and becoming the talk of the town and scorned for being a fallen woman. So the FL in this life tricked the bandits into thinking the evil concubine's daughter was their target and they kidnapped her instead! I laughed...
Then they kept plotting to have her be caught in compromising positions with nasty people but she brought it back to it being the evil concubine's daughter caught instead. Fitting!
So yeah, she is really conniving! And in her new life she is training with an assassin cause she pretty much said fuck it never again! I like the FL in the novel too. But I'm also liking the one in the drama. Even though the story is different she has the same fuck it feel!

No, it was not the ML. It was Prince Wei. Is he even in the cast list? Nope, he's not. He played a pretty big role in the novel.

I enjoyed the novel, with caveats.
It starts with the FL being killed by her evil concubine-born sister on her wedding night, cause the evil sister and her darling husband 🙄wanted to get together and since the FL was the legitimate daughter of the family the husband had to marry her, not the sister.
Then the FL wakes up as her 12 year old self. So there's a bit of ick factor going on cause the FL is so damn young and the ML is 21 or so?😶
But, the FL is a real badass. She is determined not to have all the bad shit that went on in her previous life happen to her. So she plans and trains and starts right away on her revenge and prevention schemes.
Oh right, her mother is dead, the evil concubine with evil daughter are pretty much in charge of the house and the FL gets treated badly. No bare foot ghost shit, she grew up at home.
Lots of other differences!

🤷‍♀️ it's a completely different story from the novel so who knows? The novel has a happy ending. 📖 But don't read the novel yet! Or you would be comparing the entire series! 😉

More Episode 38. I don't get the big dramatic separation of the ML/FL, he and Long Dan galloping off into the sunset and she and whatever that lady's name is take a carriage ride in the opposite direction. Only to somehow meet up at the same place? Why? What was the point of that? 😂
Wait, they killed Aman? No!!! I don't really care about the mask guy cause really who is he? But damn, Aman? This cliff looks familiar! So wait, maybe she's not dead. I mean the FL survived jumping off it once already in her previous life. Maybe Aman survived too.🤞
And once again weepy FL instead of strong, planning 5 steps ahead FL. The FL that has no problem castrating a guy who tried raping a woman....The FL that used poison and gu to control her enemies...I like that FL a lot! This one, eh 😑

Episode 38. That's one weak-ass emperor. He doesn't even have enough guards to stop the evil princess? Out of all emperors I've seen deposed, this one might deserve it the most, just cause there's no fixing stupid.
And I'm so over the cartoon villainy in this series. Can we please start having decent villains again? No mustache twirling Snidely Whiplashes please. Smart chess playing masterminds without over the top histrionics please!
Help me out here, there is no logical reason for the FL to go to nanwu. None at all whatsoever. As a plot device it's just dumb. At this late stage in the series the whole nanwu storyline should have been deleted before it started.
Wait, after everything that has happened the emperor still doesn't believe evil princess is going to depose him? She already did! And killed a shitload of people. He has been elevated to first class idiot!

One more thing...when someone is trying to hide and get somewhere quickly taking a big-assed slow carriage is not the way to go. You all need to be riding horses. Yeah, like the ML and Long Dan are doing. Wow what a beautiful scene with them galloping in the sunset!

Episode 37. Where is Ernui in all of this? He would have taken care of that sneaky evidence planter.
Seriously, I'm over the sad music and lovely montage moments of the evil psycho killer mother/daughter duo. I am so happy the daughter died in a horrible way and I'm looking forward to the mother dying as badly if not worse!
WTAF is happening with the prince. He should be out there cutting heads off and paying back everyone who setup the FL, not being quiet and pitiful. They really hosed up his character badly in the drama. And the FL would never have let herself be captured and thrown into the dungeon. She was always 5 steps ahead of everyone else. This version is just hopeless and helpless. Weak and weepy. Oh well...what could have been...Yeah, the FL begging and pleading. Wrong, just wrong. Completely out of character. The FL would be saying if you kill me I will climb out of hell to rip your head off!
Father finally is stepping up to do the right thing, 20 years too late. Think of how many people would have lived or not had their lives ruined if he would have done that 20 years ago.
And if you are going to sneak into the royal dungeons maybe wear a disguise, but not a numwe mask as a disguise, maybe try dressing as a guardsman?
Where are all the guards in the throne room? Why is the emperor still letting that evil bitch stand there and talk? He should have called guards and had her executed on the spot!

This is my first time seeing her I think and I absolutely love her! She is gorgeous and has a really fun vibe to her. I'll be watching for more goodness from her in the future.!😍

Episode 36 and WTF is actually going on with this storyline? I don't even know what is happening now. It's gone so far off the rails lord only knows what's happening. Between the FL's noble idiocy and the ML's lack of balls the series is really frustrating. Not to mention the evil cartoon villain princess twirling her mustache and cackling evilly.
I really wish they would have kept some semblance of the novel's storyline. But not this, whatever this is.

I second that! I had read the novel a year or so ago so the specifics weren't clear in my brain. I decided to start reading it again. Big mistake! Don't read it now, wait until the drama is over!!!

I saw someone call her 'sly and crafty'. That's a good description!

This series is just what everyone needs after a couple of hours of angst! It's silly goofy funny with a few heartwarming moments and some cute romance thrown into the mix. 🥰
And the behind the scenes of this one! 🤣🤣🤣If you aren't staying for the credits you are missing out.

I am really kinda getting tired of all these over-the-top psychotic evil female cartoon villains twirling their mustaches over poor Penelope Pure tied to the train tracks. The last few series have all had this character. Some of the dramas have had multiples of this character! It's like all the screen writers are going Copy-Paste-Copy-Paste....voila! Here's the villain for our series. Just like the last 10 we've written!
If you are going to make a female being an evil villain how bout you have a nice intelligent evil mastermind instead of a cackling witch? 🙄I want to see evil villains plan and execute, maybe sometimes outsmarting the good guys before getting their asses handed to them, but at least playing chess, not hopscotch.

If anyone finds this somewhere it can be watched internationally could you post it here please? I've even looked at some not terribly legal sites and couldn't find it.
