To me this is very much the issue I have with Si Jin right now, and a lot of other dramas lately. 🤔
Why take a fantastic story in a novel, slap the words 'Adapted from xxx novel' on a script and then only use some of the character names and maybe locations in the story but besides that it's a completely totally different story!😕
Just call it an original story. Rename the characters to something different. Then novel readers won't continue to be disappointed by these 'adaptations' 😮‍💨

I agree 100%! Doing all the evil and then saying 'oopsie, sorry, my bad' isn't enough. Either for retribution (at the very least) or revenge (preferable). There needs to be consequences.
Oh well, it wouldn't be a c-drama if it wasn't all about no consequences for the villains. With sunshine and rainbows and unicorns! With sprinkles on top. 🙄

I know you're tired of hearing me save 'novel novel novel' all the time, but hear me out. There are way too many redemption arcs in the series. The novel kept it nice and black and white. The evil people were punished. The good people won. So the husband was never kind, he was a sociopath who picked a wife because that is society's norm. But then he thought that evil Cui Mingyue wanted to marry him and she was a much higher status and could help him rise in rank so he wanted to off the first wife to get the second.
And the sister/cousin with the serial killer husband that setup the FL to be raped/murdered by her husband? Yeah, no redemption arc for her either.
Every time the evil people start have sad slow music played for them I just feel sad that they hosed up the concepts of this story.

I don't know, if I knew that everyone was looking for the signs of the 'saintness' and I had a big old glowy one on my back I would probably wear something high enough up to cover it so it wasn't completely visible. 🙄 Since they are out to like, kill her and all!

This whole redemption arc for the sister's ex would be a lot more believable to me if we didn't already know that he tried to kill her in the past so he could be with psycho Cui Mingyue and when that didn't work tried his best to set her up for adultery so he could divorce her. 😏🙄
