I was talking about the girl that the FL rescued, not the FL. But....it does look like in the previous life she was. In the drama. They said she was 'violated' when they were having their family meeting and her aunt, uncle, and grandma said just to suck it up and ignore it. So it was strongly implied she was in her previous life. In the novel she got away before anything happened.🤷‍♀️

They took a heroic character and turned her into an arrogant immature bitch who accuses the lovable Jiang Zhan of robbing her (hello, he's on the frickin' river. he had nothing to do with it) , tries to drown him, decides to save him, while he's unconscious kicks him a few times, then steals his money pouch.😡
I'm trying to figure out why in the world the FL was sucking up to her like that? Make her brother apologize for almost being drowned? And let her keep the pouch she stole? Cause there wasn't a flashback scene showing how she knew her in a previous life?🤷‍♀️
Chuchu is such a great righteous character it's sad to have her reduced to this on the screen. 😢And oh no, are they making her a romantic partner for Jiang Zhan?🤢

There wasn't really a 'grand princess' in the novel. There were a bunch of princesses (daughters of the emperor) that evil Princess who was the adopted sister of the Emperor, and of course all 8 prince's consorts.
The Saintess story is just messed up from the novel too. The FL had fled the kingdom and ended up living with the tribes. Since she looked so much like the Holy Maiden (not saintess) who had died they decided to use her to fool the people into believing that she still lived. And she learned their secrets. But there's a whole lot more to the story later....

The FL in the novel was so awesome with how she got rid of the awful ex, saved her sister and brother, got the Marquis caught and brought to justice (the one that her awful cousin was trying to help rape/murder her along with the other 10 women they killed)...And the temple murders...wait she's supposed to be helping the magistrate guy solve crimes....
And where is Erniu!

But seriously, did the screen writer mess up and have some pages from Blossom and some from The Double mixed in with this? Cause it's stealing storylines from both of those series and just shoehorning them in. Which is a shame cause the original novel was so good it didn't need to be changed.
(Well, except for the fact that FL is 15 and turns 16 during the story, ML is 17 at the start and turns 18 (part of the story makes turning 18 really important)) 😉
