I submitted an edit myself putting him as main but the reason it’s all like that is because of those new rules…
omg really? i feel like that stuff shouldn't affect mdl listing lol. i def think character strokes has been good for fanwars but its a little dumb when its happening in cases like this i cant lie
can we talk about how much this show is like parasite? if they'd bother to delve just a little bit deeper, there is so much to say about the housekeeper being poor and hiding her identity while serving the wealthy just to be mistreated, judged, and wronged at every turn.
As you watch further in the drama, you WILL realize Han scholar is not meant for lx. It's important for lx that…
i agree omg his face really suits the facial hair! at least we didnt have to watch his hair turn grey with more time, which i guess is both a blessing and a curse :(( im also looking forward to watching where the mask ends!! i was planning on dragging my atc watch out to oct 16 but i couldn't help but binge it haha
btw i read one of your comments below analyzing lanxiang's depression. it really struck true to me and helped me understand her character more. she has truly suffered so much.
For me, it was not a one - sided love. She might not told him that she loves him but she cares and loves him maybe…
idk i dont think lanxiang was ever meant to love him in the same way that he loved her. i dont know if it was even possible for her to do so given their history. i dont think its a weak romance arc at all. the ML was meant to love her more and i think lanxiang cared for him deeply as a friend and as the father to her children. it's clear from the scene where he dies and she says one lifetime is enough that she never really loved him back like that. their debts to each other were paid in this lifetime, may they never meet again. it's fair for you to have wanted things to turn out differently, but it's not bad writing. imo.

coming back to respond to you haha. i just finished the show (accidentally binged the last half in a day oops). i think with the vast amount of time that passed since jinqi did all those immature things, it's easier to forgive him. he grows a lot as a character and comes to understand and respect lanxiang more as time passes. i enjoyed the progression of their relationship and i definitely see the care that lanxiang has for him. i think she sees him as a dear friend, an equal, the father to her children. the scene where he takes her to the shen family grave really moved me. the flashback to the scene where she is younger and thanking the then stranger for burying her family's bodies and she says "i will repay this debt even in death." i was really moved and i think lanxiang started to see him differently from that point forward. also i see why in the end han liang seems like a bad match for her, but i was thinking, lin jinqi would've met the same end had lanxiang not warned him of the dangers. if she had married han liang, i think he could've had a different ending. i will say, either way, she would've ended up having a long and fulfilling life so i cant complain too much. and also either way, her story is so much larger than these two men so i feel bad even talking so much about this. sorry i wrote so much haha.
HL was her parents choice she actually never indicated anywhere that she liked him like that but she was content…
okay you're so right it was her parent's choice, but i think if she really didn't care for him (as a friend) or want to be married to him, she would've said no. i agree she didn't like him, but she still made the choice to marry him. lin jinqi turned her into a caged bird against her will to satisfy his own selfish desires.
