don't think i'll ever find another cdrama couple like this again, nor a female lead like fu tingyun. she is truly one of one.

people denying their bond even after watching the scene where he drinks the "poison" for her in jail is crazy. that scene had me in tears, because she was ready to drink the poison and take the blame for him simply because she had promised him a lifetime of devotion in return for him saving her life. and yet, the reason why she was willing to die for him was because he was exactly the kind of person to turn around and drink the poison himself because he could never bear to hurt her. they both mean so much to me and you captured how precious and rare it is to find this kind of relationship in shows these days.

never thought i'd get to watch a show like new life begins again, and of course the mood of this show is quite different, but road to splendor has so many of the same themes and messages. so happy i put this on

madam yan is the one who inspired my comment haha! the actress is always so amazing, no matter what character she's playing. yes all the side characters are written so well, they all feel like real people!

the entire female cast of this show is providing an acting masterclass holy shit

whole show was just dark and sad from beginning to end. my heart feels so heavy

ep5 ending was so evil

not sure if im just too woke but ep3 was kinda weird to me. dunno why they painted the other girls in the high school as villains for believing a supposed victim of sexual assault. i get that the power of social media was the main message there but i feel like it's kind of bad to put out media that is pro questioning the integrity of victim's statements

ep14 - jin baihui's storyline has been one of my favorites so far. it's brought me to tears

wish they'd had an extra episode or two because it did feel like they had to brush past some things to fit everything in the 8 episodes
