who said Achi was flawless? People disagreed with your character assessment, so you are just making stuff up now to downplay it?

I completely disagree about Karan and Achi not behaving like adult characters. They are very mature, and much more mature than a lot of GMMTV BL pairings. But we can agree to disagree there. But what I don’t understand is why would a younger actor play Achi, when Achi is basically New’s age? Being adult does not always mean you are experienced. Experience does not equal maturity. The whole point is that Achi is 30 and so inexperienced with extremely low self esteem.

I suspect you may be from a western country from this comment. Which is ok. But as others have pointed out, it’s not actually what you would expect from these situations everywhere. It’s important to recognize cultural differences.

They were also in SOTUS together. And a couple other series where they didn’t share screen time, but those don’t really count.

I personally like the more mature vibe from the trailer. I was very worried they would try to do the more goofy and clumsy thing, and was not looking forward to it from GMMTV. So I hope they keep this going. I did originally think it would be better with Tay and New switching characters, but that’s based solely on their real personalities. But they are actors, so it’s nice to see them play different than themselves. And to be honest, I think Tay is better when he plays against type.

Alex didn’t have the entire perspective that the audience had. He was apologizing for being terrible to Jean after they slept together, but he doesn’t know every little thing that happened. He doesn’t know everything she experienced. And no one is defending Alex. He made bad choices in a life or universe he has no recollection of. He learned from those things, and decided to make different choices in his real life. Jean’s trauma never happened in this reality. There is nothing to fix. Alex just made different choices based on what he learned.

Again, it appear you missed the entire premise of the show. But you do you.

You really missed the point of the series. And the most unlikeable character ever? I am not sure I believe you actually watched the show.

It’s an important discussion about informed consent. I don’t know that it constitutes rape, but it still doesn’t make it ok. I also am not sure he processed what she was saying in the moment. Which is still not ok. And she has the rights to her feelings about it. Don’t have sex if you are that intoxicated and can’t or don’t get informed consent for each step.

It was . I noticed it got a bunch of ratings and went down significantly in one day a few days ago.

I don’t think its as simple as that. There are instances of people being targeted and charged. I don’t know what the conviction rate is, but that doesn’t really matter. And maybe he wouldn’t be convicted of statutory rape, but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be concerned about 1) having sex with someone under a legal age, whether or not they can technically consent (still a grey area in the law), and 2) someone accusing him of such and having to defend himself, and risking both his personal and professional life. Just because something might not technically get you thrown in jail for a long time, that doesn’t make it ok.

Its also probably because this role and the show are a little more his style. Some of his more well known previous roles are completely opposite of him. I like New a lot, but he isn’t the strongest actor, and so I would love to see him in more roles like this that play to his strengths.

Only technically. There are other laws that effectively make it 18, especially if someone contests it. And why would statutory rape not be a concern here?
