Thank you for all your sweet words jcg. I think Lusi really suited A yin she really portray her well. My heart…
Same here. I consume most news about her when there isn't a new drama. But she seems to be over-working with back pain and while I eagerly await her next drama, I am also worried for her health (like a mother hen). Ah yes, Cheng Yi would be great - they did have a variety show where they acted out scenes with Bai Lu as well - totally nailed it. Per WAY also 100% agree with you - he nailed GuJin but did not do enough character change to YuanQi unlike Lusi - you clearly saw the progression from cute A-Yin to mature Feng Yin. I know the script and director probably played a role here to keep his character immature compared to hers so no shade to him. Any maybe he did not feel he could push back. I think Lusi pushes back and works more with the director on scripts (at least from BTS of Hidden Love).

And speaking of Wang Yibo, Yuki did you watch the awards and New Year videos? Their lack of interaction seemed a bit out of place don't you think esp on Lusi's part where she is aways so friendly even to acquaintances - not even a nod of acknowledgement? OK - now no dramas so am doing a bit of speculation LOL. For some reason, I get these vibes that they are actually going out of their way to avoid eye contact. Looks like a high school crush encounter LOL. Esp as he scoots towards her in the NY celebration. Like they are super aware of each other but being introverts, too shy to acknowledge it. OK - just my total speculation here but I secretly ship them as CP in real life - they seem to have so much in common.

Totally agree with you.I also rewatched Hidden Love and LLTG over-watched as well. Now just have to hope her next drama comes out soon! By type-casting - I mean romances where she plays the cute young thing (that matures later). I think she wants to break out of that mold a bit but seems like in C-drama (unlike K-drama) there's less diversity of scripts so she probably has to bide her time. I will watch her just walk across the stage LOL so I am pretty content with her continuing to do romance driven dramas - there are so many other actors I'd like to see her paired with. Wang Yibo, Chen Xing Xu, Dylan Wang, the list goes on. Some of these A-list actors might never happen since they want top billing and a male led script which I know Lusi prefers a female led script. But hey the actor who plays Ao Ge could totally be next CP for her. I noticed him in Who Rules the World and now in TLI - he's got presence. And just for yaks maybe let Li Yun Rui be ML for a change and get Lusi hahaha.

Yeah not saying she didn't give it her all. Just think xianxia genre - at least with the B level script and director not the best vehicle for her. I mean she pulled out a total win with Hidden Love, when the director quit and then they did not have enough funding so she called in friends to act plus wore her own wardrobe. So we know she can carry a show. But this drama...yeah even being super biased towards her, I just think is the weakest of the lot. There probably isn't a lot of strong female lead scripts that her agency has access to (I see them going to other actresses) and perhaps dare I say this....she might be getting type casted. Although I will happily watch her in many more rom com dramas. Anyway - I think Legend of Jewelry is darker and LYN is a solid actor. WAY def not cast properly or at least the script sucked. There was not enough depth to the character who is supposed to be a True God - one can do puppy dog love in first half but carrying it all through 40 episodes is a bit much. It's no dig on him as an actor but casting is so critical. I have a lot of other actors (Korean ones as well) I love and follow and have sat through some really blah dramas not because the acting was bad but they were badly type casted or the script and directing sucked. But man, when they are casted properly and the script works (e.g Shin Hye Son in Mr Queen - so so good. Shin Hye Son and Chang Ji Wook both amazing actors in Welcome to Samdal-ri - kinda not so much) I will chalk this one to a miss but hey there's always a next one and I can rewatch Hidden Love, ROTAR or LLTG over again. Loved her in all those roles.

Title The Last Immortal Spoiler
Oh well - it was a fun ride any time with Lusi, But honestly, you wait for someone for a thousand years and when he appears, you just stand there and stare? Ending could have been better. TBH Wang AnYu is probably her weakest ML - at least in a xian xia. He's really good looking so it was fun eye candy but somehow just never really had enough gravitas to pull off the true god role. Maybe it's too much puppy dog eyes. I def would like to see them paired in a modern rom-com drama. It there would be a script that lets them play to their strengths - they would slay it. If we could see a drama displaying their playfulness like they did in the live chat, wouldn't it be a blast? They are both so naturally funny and adorable. That being said - this script was not a great fit. Def not for WAY and ZLS kinda pulled it off because of her acting chops but still not one of her best roles. I actually liked the second CP better -the actors were a better fit for their roles. Now eagerly awaiting her next project. I think with Liu YiNing it will be fantastic - will be nice to see her paired with a more mature actor. Hoping the script and directing does that one justice. Know our Lusi is looking for strong female led dramas so hope she gets more of those. She's worked so hard to get to the top of her game, she deserves it.

Agreed. I can rewatch Oh My General multiple times. Really love both of her dramas.

Did you catch the clip where Wang Yibo scooted closer to her on stage? I am suspecting they are friends but keeping it super low key. Especially with him cultivating that cold persona towards women. Just my speculation of course but the vibes from the awards show and now at new year performance smacks of "I doth protest too much".

So, there’s a person said the costume looks like 2017 costume? I mean did they wear feathers costume in 2017?
Not sure about 2017 since this is my first xianxia but the feather costumes are because these characters are birds - peacock, phoenix and eagle. So their colors also reflect their plummage, as well as their personalities (peacock being super vain, eagle fighting with everyone, phoenix being regal).

ZLS ALWAYS SERVES WITH HER ACTING. I LOVEE HER SM. EVER SINCE IVE WATCHED ROTAR, SHE BECAME MY FAVVV ACTRESS.…
Me too! I noticed her first in ROTAR even when she was early in her career she had that special star quality. Have been following her so far in everything and she's just as adorable and sparkly off-screen as she is on.

And let's not point out the super hypocritical stance of his accusers - someone under the influence of alcohol…
Yeah I can't comprehend it either. I love k-dramas but the alcohol consumption in every drama where the characters drink so much they black out from it - glorifies alcoholism - and I find it very uncomfortable to watch. Here in US, that is what we call "falling down drunk" and usually behavior you see in college dorms. Most social settings, we drink but in moderation and hey, we are allowed to smoke a joint as well in private if we so choose. Feel so sad for Lee Sun Kyun and his family.

I think she took the initiative to take the acting empress herself…. If you watch the trailer ep.32 you will…
They mentioned that YQ was absentee god in immortal realm most of the 1000 years since he was chasin after A Yin's immortal essence, So assume HS took the opportunity to become acting empress.

And let's not point out the super hypocritical stance of his accusers - someone under the influence of alcohol is much more likely to cause harm to others (drunk driving, abusive/aggressive behavior) than someone who is high on pot. And yet, alcohol - which I totally consider a drug - is celebrated in Korean culture (just watch any k-drama). So one can be falling down drunk, pissing in public or picking fights but it's ok but if one take drugs in privacy of one's house or bar - then one is stoned to death in public opinion. Massively screwed up society.

Whatever the reason, obvious or hidden, someone who gives up their life must have suffered. When we reach the point…
Even if he did take drugs - honestly what is the big deal Koreans? We in the US have legalized marijuana and people in showbiz take drugs like cocaine etc ALL the time. What they do to their own bodies - hey it's their bodies. And speaking of drugs - how hypocritical is it that massive alcohol consumption is celebrated when alcohol probably causes more harm to other people (drunk driving, aggressive/abusive behavior) than someone who is high on pot does.

What a horrible, punitive society - the very ugly side of Korea behind the glitz of K-wave. I am so sad that such a talented man has been driven to suicide for doing something that did no harm to anyone (besides himself if he did indeed do drugs). I think online trolls are just going over the top - who cares if a celebrity takes drugs? I mean if that is the case that warrants such punishment, then there won't be many in Hollywood who will be around. I mean marijuana is legal in some countries including here in California because we understand it's not a drug that harms other people - and frankly we really haven't seen any issues after legalization. And hey, tons of people here take cocaine as well given the very healthy drug trade going on. Such witch hunts have got to stop. So tragic - such a great talent lost so soon. People really ought to get off their high horses and freaking get a life.

In my opinion:The best xianxia drama of all time is Love & Destiny The best Wuxia drama of all time is Sword Snow…
I believe the ML, Cheng Xing Xu, in Goodbye My Princess was only like 22 when he did the role but wow such presence and ability to carry a complex character beyond his years. He is such a good actor. Here's the OST: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWT9K5rRmv0&t=33s

In my opinion:The best xianxia drama of all time is Love & Destiny The best Wuxia drama of all time is Sword Snow…
But wow - the chemistry between the leads in Goodbye My Princess was explosive - the actor blew it out of the water - I still have such a strong impression of the drama - but its not one I can bear to watch again. I'd love for him to pair with ZLS. The OST about the fox in the desert is so beautiful and haunting. He played the tragic villain hero so well. I also loved Minglan and am a fan of ZLY. Waiting for her drama Legend of Shen Li to air. I have Snow Sword Stride on my watch list- will check it out while waiting for TLI episodes to air. Might also do same with Princess Wie Young. ZZY leaves me cold. So hard pass on Love & Destiny. I am watching Xian Xia for Lusi. That genre is a bit over the top for me - all the lightning zaps border on cartoony. I think even the TLI actors who were mostly doing Xian XIa for the first time said there was a lot of giggling behind the scenes from all the hand waving they had to do.

An FMV edits of their Last Immortal promotional photoshoot (Zhao Lusi and Wang Anyu ) They seriously need to do…
I also like her with the Demon King. I noticed him in Love Like the Galaxy as well during first episode when he was killed - thought they made a good pair. He should get a ML - he's got quite a presence and def good looking. Given that the tier 1 ML like Leo Wu, Dylan Wang and Wang Yibo probably don't want to share equal billing with a FL so hard to get a CP in future with them much as I'd love to see any of those pairings with Lusi, expect Lusi will be the FL giving 2nd tier promising MLs a boost to their career.
