Me too! Surprised I am enjoying it as much as I do. But then ZLS makes everything watchable IMHO. Romance of Tiger and Rose was what started me on C-dramas. Previous to that, I only watched K-dramas. So ZLS will always have a special place in my heart.

Agreed - they were so urgent about finding Phoenix's spirit pieces then all of a sudden, everyone is just hanging around the Heavenly Palace. Looks like the magical flute also did more than erase the "love thread" here. I am hoping they get on with the story in the next 2 episodes since they are I assume trying to work up to a climax that causes A Yin to be killed so she can reincarnate as Phoenix. But timing has to be right, no because how can she be reincarnated until all her spirit pieces are found? And they are still missing at least 1 piece no?

Oh I hope not! I cannot go through another round of ML being too naive to see through her facade - we are all waiting for him to come to his senses and GROW UP. Script writer cannot be so mean to a ML. He is such a putz now already.

Same here. The aunt and peacock lady so calculating. I guess that's why she a peacock LOL and not phoenix. LOL. Must admit it's clever of script-writer to imbue the characters with their bird characteristics. Like the Eagle lady is combative and straight forward while the peacock lady is kinda pretentious and worried about "face". I am kinda dreading the next 2 episodes when A Yin's water beast dies (assume that will be the case if they follow the novel plotline) and ML finds out he loves her too late. And then we have to wait for her to reincarnate many lives as Phoenix.

Was just thinking about Rosy at the award ceremony with her MLs and hoping some day she does find the kind of love in real life like the wonderful CPs she portrays for us online. It must be so hard to have a personal life as a busy, high profile celebrity, esp. in a place where every move is scrutinized and stalked by anti-fans (or crazy fans). US celebrities def have it easier as they can date, marry or divorce without losing their fandom or careers. Like I don't care who Ben Affleck or Timothy Chalamet dates - I will watch them as long as they are in a good movie.

Yeah def a work acquaintance versus real friends vibe. Kinda like me at a work dinner party running out of "how's the weather" topics....then awkward silence LOL. ZLS is super friendly and affectionate so this lukewarm reaction between her and the 2 Wangs next to her makes me suspect, she is doesn't. have much to do with them outside of the few variety shows and photoshoots they happen to work together on. A bummer coz I was hoping for CP dramas between our Lusi and both of them.

They were on a variety show together a few years back but not even acknowledging each other seems a tad weird. I'd expect at least a quick nod or something. I was championing a collab betwen them but perhaps not given the lack of any vibes.

I hope so - been a while since Sandra Ma has been in a good drama - I still rewatch her old dramas especially You Are My Hero and Oh My General. I think Oh My General is the best take on Mulan legend so far.

And yeah I am just killing time until The Legend of Jewelry which I can't wait for considering it has LYN as well. I can't wait for the return of that CP! If nothing else, the OSTs will be killer because the man has a great voice. I hope they roll that out early 2024.

First xian xia - usually all these special effects not my cup of tea but here for ZLS. She is adorable as usual and nailing it. Think the ML is doing a good job as well and suits his character of an immature god who has yet to come into his full potential. I am looking forward to both their arcs. I will admit to fast-forwarding the scenes with the evil queen - all that black stringy fog is kinda overkill. But I guess we do need a villain otherwise, no tension. Have not watched ALP and probably won't as xian xia not my thing but it's pretty easy to follow as a standalone drama.

Is either drama worth spending time on? While I really like both actors in MITD, I could not get past first 2 episodes. Not sure what's not really working for me. That CP just not giving me the feels. I can't over the AGDTBAD theme of the FL lead being dog. Could they have at least chosen another domesticated animal? You know in US, calling someone a female dog is not exactly a compliment. LOL. Also, animal and human love relationship seems a bit icky too.

Thought this would be another run of the mill melodrama but checked it out because of Sung Hoon. Agree with other commenters that - wow - the actors are all bringing their A-game. Brilliant acting to work through a stereotypes of evil step-mother, and step sister, rich son, poor mistreated daughter. I love this Korean treatment of the classic Cinderella story. Kudos to the actresses who play the stepmother and stepsister who must be having so much fun playing evil twins here. All the actors showcase their veteran acting skills, walking that fine line to portray these very tropey stereotypes with tip over the edge into complete caricature, thanks to the director. I definite need to find some BTS because I imagine there was a lot of laughter/giggling behind the scenes having to deliver some of these so over-the-top lines. Probably heck of a lot of fun too.
