I have a clarifying question that I still can’t quite understand. Why did XWJ kill Zhang Mo? His character though…
As you watch later episodes, you will start to notice that this drama is full of morally grey characters which makes it more interesting and not cookie-cutter. XWJ's actions are part of his morally grey arc. Without giving too much away - you will see this aspect of his character appear again.

This drama has such an interesting cast of morally grey characters, the good, the neutral, the bad, the powerful, the controlled. Makes it interesting and hard to predict what will happen next.

I think they would rule it as suicide. What kind of shocked me the most is how Do Gi did not have any reaction…
Agreed. It was a bit off putting how cheery he was especially since he instigated her to fall and failed to save her. No matter how bad she was, it's still a human life. That was really off-note. I think S3 they are running out of material so best to stop the series here.

A judge proclaiming himself a king in court, lmao this is what's wrong with the judiciary nowadays. Everyone seems…
Not so far from reality. We have a US President proclaiming himself a king and who considers himself above the law. And all the Supreme Court judges of this country are beholden to him. We have No Kings protests happening here in the US. So you don't need to suspend reality - just read what is happening in the US right now.

Title Love's Ambition Spoiler
He numbed himself after his girlfriend died. And let’s look at his parents and how they treat his son - and…
I am not sure about him grieving his former girlfriend because in ep 20 he told XY that he had already broken up with his girlfriend for 2 months when she showed up out of the blue to tell him she was pregnant. I am sure there was doubt in his mind if the child was his hence the DNA test. TBH I did not get the sense he was that much in love with his GF in college because it feels like he has been going through life thus far shut off from deep emotions for anyone. His relationships, even with his family come across as transactional. Which I guess is the plot setting us for some major character development for him. Look forward to seeing his redemption arc - and I sure hope there is one so there is a HE.

First few minutes did not grip me which was kinda disappointing considering it's WooBin and Suzy. Oh well. I might just go watch other J drama and C drama. BTW if any of you watch C drama Mobius on Netflix is quite well done.

This is such a fun drama and coming to read the comments daily doubles the fun! But I also can't help but feel in many ways this drama is mirroring what Zhao Lusi was going through in real life with her toxic agency controlling her and trying to blackmail/bully her into doing what they want. And how she is brave enough to walk away from it all and take a risk. She must have channeled some of her real-life turmoil and emotions into her acting. You can feel its a very different character than the one she's always played. This one is world weary and still forced to go through the motions and keep up a facade - you can see it in her eyes. As I am empathizing with XY, I am also feeling for ZLS. Art sometimes it truer than life as they say.

I am Chinese American and can speak mandarin - am currently watching Bon Appetit on Netflix. I do like the show but have to admit the Chinese envoy scenes were a bit cringe. Firstly, they could have done better dubbing of the actors who are supposed to be Chinese nationals but obviously Korean actors. I am sure in a country so close to China they have Chinese native speakers. I think it was fine given the context that the envoy was corrupt and obviously abusing his power him getting the comeuppance was ok although I think that a real Chinese official would have been more refined and less coarse so that was out of character and a tad jarring. If you watch enough traditional Chinese dramas, you will know what I mean - the officials who are corrupt are a bit more refined in how they act even as they go about their plotting behind the scenes. I felt the cooks showed respect for each other. The Chinese lady cook being quite devious in the beginning and then doing a complete 180 was obviously as plot device to increase tension so that was a bit of lazy writing on the part of the screenwriter. Nothing else to complain about a very entertaining drama - loved the leads and all supporting actors are great!

Have to give this drama a 10 in the ballsy department for daring to tackle not just such euthanasia but lesbianism in the first episode! Wow, it will be an interesting ride to say the least so I hope it does serve in the rest of the episodes. I have no opinion about euthanasia as long as it's consenting. If I was in terrible pain with no chance of survival and a constant burden on my loved ones, I would not discount this option. Why not? We all die anyway - it is inevitable and not an evil thing - just a fact of life. Also to those commenters who don't like the humor - I say - why must death be always a sorrowful event? Why can't it be a celebratory occasion? I would prefer my loved ones to reminisce over the fun times and laugh together over their good memories of me - not be wringing their hands and weeping in sorrow cry. I would bet that unless one is a total narcissist, everyone who is dead would agree with me that they'd rather their loved ones be happy than super sad, but then, they can't because they are well...dead.

Best K-drama this year and probably will remain a top one in my mind. Park Bo Young showed her acting chops as two different people in the same drama. The story is also so well written that every character, even the old lady store owner each had their own growth path - they were not one note characters just there to support the leads. A lot of deep themes about identity, parent child relationships explored in a really heart warming story. We need more shows like this. I am definitely keeping an eye on the director and script writer's next projects.

It's finally over. I hope there's no season 2 or at least the actors move on to better projects. This had such an interesting premise but wasted by director and worse script writer. I was mostly just irritated by the "heroes" by the end and was just here for the villains. The bad guy had as much screen time as the heroes and for good reason - the actor really went for it - he was chilling as a psychopath. Also really liked the actress who was DrugMom - she was quite charismatic and I hope this is a breakout role for her. I would love to see her in more dramas.

At this point, the script is SO BAD, I am sympathy watching for the actors who have to try to pull it off and not crack up laughing. I would not have been able to keep a straight face here so heads off to the professionalism of the acting cast. Checking out the scriptwriter and director so I can give any drama helmed by them a wide berth.

This drama feels like everyone but the action director is asleep at the wheels. Or maybe PBG's agency only signed on to do action scenes given their actor had to work out to build his gams. It started out with a really interesting premise and in this age of AI, you'd think the script writer could have used chatgpt to come up with a better script LOL. I don't understand how the villain needs to be a lowly custom officer when he can command everyone in the city to do his biding. Drug lady is all over the place, she comes off as a total psychopath in the beginning but then suddenly shows conscience about how her drugs are distributed? ML is just one note - always leading with his fists but of course no need to use any weapons and guns don't count here either when you are an olympic gold medalist boxer. He shows no character development. FL, SML and other supporting characters all show no character development. They are the same in episode 11 as they are in episode 1. It just feels like a stupid Hollywood action flick. Maybe I will just wait until the final episode is done so I can just see the finale.

Bravo! What an interesting last few episodes. I was surprised they gave so much airtime to Prince Bai but the actor deserved it. His was very grey villain who was a conflicted and complicated character. First time I have seen so much air time for 2ML and villain. Drama had a very strong ML and FL as well as strong cast that all had their little back stories. Very nice indeed and a fresh change from all the other cookie cutter ones out there. Seven Tan did not disappoint - I think I will watch her act in a paper bag LOL.

This is getting ridiculous 😒
Honestly - just go away then if you don't enjoy a drama and not ruin it for the rest of us who are enjoying the drama. MDL has become a toxic comment dump and it's taking away from fans who do want to enjoy it. There are a lot of dramas I do not enjoy but I don't comment about them on their MDLs because it ruins it for those who do happen to like the drama.
