The story sounds interesting. Li Meng was great in the drama The Double. I hope this gets premiered soon!As for…
She is also in Against the Current and doing an amazing job as well. Glad she is not being type-cast as the evil princess/madam type. Looking forward to her in lead roles.

fave scene 1 - when MIL blamed and scolded her son when bona leftfave scene 2 - the family race at school with…
Family race for sure - I rewatched that several times LOL. Yes when the family blamed the son for driving her off was kinda funny too. OK morbid of me but I rewatched the scene where the "fall gal" was shot to death. Actress had few scenes but she carried them well to the end. Her last words were quite dramatic.

just curious, was there a character that you didn't like? =D
Yes she was kinda cast to stereotype and they went a bit heavy here I think to make her turnaround more dramatic. I think they could have made it a bit more nuanced because there was not much runway to develop her turnaround. And I guess she never knew who her real landlord was. This is what I find special about this drama. They don't go the usual plot route. And they are not above leaving things unresolved especially when it doesn't really impact the main plot. Leaves audience wanting more.

My favorites best chemistry1. Papa Tae Seong and daughter Yul2. Mama, Papa, and Yul3. Mama Bona and daughter Yul4.…
Yes and when you are interested in all their back stories. The drama was too short and I wanted to know more about the poison lady, the hacker, the team lead, the mole in the police dept (was there one? they never confirmed), the detective, the judo sister-in-law. Hey even mama bona and her son. Let's hope there is a S2.

it's 8.3 now....for me this is 10/10 and I know nothing is perfect but I did enjoy it a lot and therefore it's…
Agreed. I rated it a 10 as it was so under-rated in the beginning. The rating is at least at the right place now. It's a great drama from the amazing Kong Hye Jin. She delivered on this one. Both loving mom and cool assassin. I do hope for S2. So many side character stories to be explored.

So good, I paid extra for VIP and Express LOL.
OK it's like USD5.99 for all express so cheaper to buy all. I paid for one episode express before I realized might as well buy all. Hey much cheaper than buying a movie ticket. Not sure how much in other countries but it's like USD$20 in my area for just one movie, Then with popcorn which you have to have and a soda - easily $50-60 for 2 people.

Title Against the Current Spoiler
Yes totally worth it. Episode 1 is quite sad because it tells the backstory of the FL's family.
But I think it wasn't gratuitous violence done for the sake of tugging at our hearts (ok maybe a little but that is drama right?). What I mean is what was shown served to move the plot forward. And set the tone for why the FL acts very meek and just tries not to be noticed. Heck if I were in her shoes, I'd do the same. Dang if I saw my whole family executed and forced to commit suicide in front of me, any feistiness or cheeriness would be wiped out from the trauma. And then to top it off, I land in my ex-fiancee's compound when I am supposed to be dead (and will be if discovered), with a scary as heck mistress...I'd keep my mouth shut and just avoid anything to bring attention to myself.

Title A Bona Fide Killer Spoiler
There is a nice turnaround story here. Just hang on for a few more episodes.
Yes. They managed to wrap everything together neatly with the last minute ex-colleague showing up as fall guy (or gal). But I could have stayed for a few more episodes. Howver, the ending does hint at option for S2 so I do hope the drama is popular enough to warrant it. I would def come back to see all these characters, not just Bo Na. I wanna see if her sister-in-law becomes a cop, mama and her son is an interesting side plot they could easily develop. We never found out who the mole was in the police office. And you know you wanna see the good cop get back to his detective role. Being a traffic cop was too funny of a step down. I also felt the poison lady deserves a few more episodes, ditto the hacker and equipment guy. They all looked like they had more talents we haven.t seen yet. Hahaha - unfortunately I am no billionaire so can't fund a drama production.

Just sharing my thoughts with the group. This drama seems to be about how each woman in the Lin household survives, each in their own way. We are starting to get interesting backstories on these women, so the drama is drawing me in more with each episode. I want to know about each character and what happens to them, even the "bad" wife of the ML LOL.

i just watched epi 1. ghastly painful. very good.
No not rebirth. The adoptive parents who rescued her (you will see the connection from ep 1 to 2) were indentured servants of Lin family so she entered that household as well under the assumed name of their daughter. I won't give more to spoil it for you if you haven't watched the episodes yet but it is explained in the first few episodes.

Yes. From what I understood from my basic Mandarin plus English subtitles is that both the FL and ML families backed a deposed emperor and advised him to suppress the regional princes. Unfortunately now, one of those princes is now Emperor and he's seeking retribution. The Lin family was able to avoid the fate of the Shen family by aligning themselves with the Zhao family in marriage (the ML marries their daughter) plus get some other backing from one of the officials that was tight with the current Emperor. And...the selfish thing is they did not try to warn the Shen family but rather just saved their own hides.

I was watching to see as well as I thought the director would surely have had them meet but there was no hint of it. Maybe as we progress, they might put this into the plot where he secretly saw her? Who knows. Or maybe they really were strangers and came to know each other after she entered his household. Either plot line could work. He falls in love with her (I assume from the teasers) at the end anyway. Still its fun to try to guess now LOL.

Agreed. The producer/director wanted to drive home the gravity of the situation so it makes it easier to understand the actions and motivations of the FL - which is currently to survive at any cost.

Title Against the Current Spoiler
So good, I paid extra for VIP and Express LOL.
It's quite realistic but nothing scary really. I feel episode 1 was the saddest. So far it seems to be showing what is happening to other people in the household who are not as smart or circumspect as her and the characters are written as conniving or greedy so its kinda like...well they don't really deserve it but then....

99 cents an episode. At least in US. No idea if they charge other rates. It will add up. I am sitting here wondering whether I want to pay another 99 cents today LOL.

I've been seeing some "anti" comments trying to make this into a revenge drama and then becoming annoyed…
Agreed. It's lack of creativity and imagination in their part. Revenge can come in so many forms. I would argue being the one to survive to the end and become the head (female) of the Lin household is the ultimate revenge. She was cast out of the role but she won it back on her own terms with smarts and perseverance.

Not all strength is the loud, aggressive kind. One can bring down an enemy just as well without raising one's voice. I don't see her as meek. More as being hyper-aware of her situation and lack of power and making sure she keeps her family out of trouble. She is no dummy and is able to adapt to anything that comes her way.
