I kinda want FL to end up with him over the rather spoiled ML. They have written ML character to be so spoiled and self indulgent, I am not quite sure how they will give him a redeeming arc to make us believe FL will fall for him. He is the drama queen though. Def intrigued to watch more.

Yeah he did. His ex was kinda toxic. I too loved him in Mr Queen - great comedic chops and he held his own against our queen of comedic timing, Shin Hae Sun.

Loved Seo InA in Twinkling Watermelon but I appreciate she is physical enough to carry off the male disguise, especially as they cast a rather feminine looking ML next to her. So of course they needed to show some skin to prove the ML isn't quite as effeminate as he looks LOL. That coming out of the shower scene in ep 2 cracked me up.

Agreed. I keep waiting for him to be revealed as the main love interest but it does look like he is the supporting actor here. Interesting choice of actors though. They were obviously being subversive here for comic reasons because you'd think he'd be the ML.

Because she was the only one on the team that ML and his lawyer did not see at the police station when they were interrogated. If you recall, they sent her off to work with the old ladies from the voice phishing scam.

Spot on assessment. I could not make it past the first 10 minutes because it was too derivative of the OG. And frankly that was so unique that it would be hard to top so the producer/director could have been smarter to come up a their own take on it. I am going to wait for season 2 of the original. Hopefully there will be one in the works. On the same note, I thought the Japanese version of Marry My Husband was quite well done. It was different enough from the Korean OG that it worked. I am now watching the flip-side of this - the Korean remake of Doctor X. Jury is still out on that one but it is interesting for me to keep watching for now. I do think the OG was much fresher even though that was done 14 years ago and some of the acting was over the top.

Hilarious how Son Hyun Joo and Jang Seung Joo both play morally grey/bad doctors here and they both play good guys and detectives in The Good Detective. Decided to check out S2 now that I connected the dots LOL. Must be fun to be an actor and pretend to be different people in different professions without actually doing daily grind. Not saying it's not hard to be an actor but one does get to live a fantasy, different life every drama.

Wow just finished watching episode 4. Some similar characters in OG they dialed back but the Na Dae Il character, that was taken several notches up. Pun intended.

Yeah I don't think there's going to be a romantic element here because wow - the way her character is coded, it's have to be like 50 episodes of character development LOL. But hopefully it they will form a bond of trust and friendship that is mutual. RN it's one sided. I think from the hints, she might end up saving his life.

I think her character is autistic so she is pretty shut down socially (plus apparent trauma/PTSD from past so her character also seems repressed as well) and its hard to convey emotion without being able to show emotion. Maybe she's not quite at the level of actresses like Park Eun Bin who can express emotion just through the eyes. Its a tough role to carry off.

Yes, its been 14 years since the original Doctor X first aired so I am sure they have more RL cases to draw from. Also glad they are keeping true to the idea of the OG but taking own interpretation.

Cracks me up when K-drama characters do charity work, its always in some dark-skinned country (some fictional African country although at least this time, its in Cuba but weird it's so war torn because AFAIK there's been no wars in Cuba since 1961) and when someone goes away and comes back an "expert" its always the US. As someone who lives in the US, that cracks me up. Given the state of the country, I'd say we have more idiots running around this country now than "experts" LOL.

I would say the OG version, the FL broke out of character and was too flamboyant sometimes so her "autistic" mannerisms were not consistent. Hence I labeled her quirky. But, the show was filmed in 2012 so I try to watch the series with the understanding that it was produced at a different time. Hence was able to get past some of the inconsistencies and also somewhat over-the-top acting. Still even watching it from today's lens, I appreciated its uniqueness and how compelling it was to warrant that many seasons. Given I spent so much time in the J-drama, hard to not make comparisons but like I said, am glad to have this character come to life again in today's setting and with Korean spin. Ryoko Yonekura as Michiko Daimon had such a commanding presence and made the show what it was back then. She made you believe she was such a kick-ass that she could get away with her take-no-prisoners behavior. Kim Ji Won's portrayal is more low key and behind the scenes. And not quite as commanding enough to make me believe she could get away with doing what she wanted so I am waiting to see how the Korean production story plays out. Michiko Daimon though is a hard act to follow, literally.

This was something the original J-drama did so they kept it consistent to the original - which is a nice touch because it also stood out.

I think you have to watch the original Japanese version to appreciate this one. If you haven't recommend watching Season 1 - all the seasons are on Netflix as well. This korean version has been updated and also toned down - the doctors in the J drama were portrayed as even more corrupt and inept. The Japanese version was a bit over the top in terms of overacting but I kind of like that it injected a bit more light-heartedness to the FL. She was quirky. And the actress really grabbed my attention - she was striking and charismatic. This FL is outright autistic but I assume that is exactly how they are portraying her character - as some kind of autistic savant genius. But she is just kinda expressionless and gloomy so I kinda prefer the Japanese Dr X. Hopefully she has more expressions in later episodes that just b*^&h face. Her agent though is just as annoying as the Japanese agent LOL. Anyway - enjoying the drama nevertheless and keeping an open-mind since it's only a few episodes in - to see if it lives up to the OG.

Agreed. The title alone would have told these clueless commenters it's about at least one woman's life. And so many interviews of the cast, synopses and teasers mention it's female centric slice of life drama. Against stupidity even the gods contend in vain

In those days, hard to live long so I imagine if you live to 80, a lot of your friends and family would be gone. Living to 80 in those times probably equal to living to 100 in current time. (thanks to AI for that math)

Yes same here. I am very sad today that is has come to an end. I will definitely rewatch it once I've had some space to get over the bittersweet endings. I am so sad to see Marquis Yuan, Scholar Han and JQ die before their time. Goes to show good men don't necessarily win especially in turbulent times.
