Looks like I may be feeling opposite of everyone else... Even though I like the FL and ML and the story should tick all the boxes that make it a great drama for me... I'm just not feeling it at all. I can't even pin point why except I'm bored and trying not to skip scenes on this one. Weird. Ah, well.

I really really want to love this... but tbh the FL should be amazing and instead I find her boring. The ML is kind of an asshole all the way to the end... and the show is soooo slow... not in a fantastic way (like Story of Minglan) but in an OMG THERE ARE 22 MORE EPISODES!?!?! kind of way.. .😧

Does this have action? I don't see an action or wuxia tag but the title has the word "Sword" in it lol
probably already figured this out lol but it does have a little action in it... the ML is a general and there are some small "action" scenes here and there but definitely not a focus or reason to watch 💜 much more "slice of life" with lots of scheming etc
Very few dramas have this same "level" of costumes. I'd say The Rise of the Phoenixes too, but a different style...
I will definitely give it a try! I am HUGE fan of Yanxi Palace and have watched it several times. I love love love it. One of my top Chinese Historicals along with Story of Ming Lan...!!
I know this drama has a few issues... but it has quickly climbed to one of my go-to dramas for rewatching... not ever going to replace the Story of Ming Lan for me, but I love the mature and slow-building relationship between the leads so much!!
TRYING to love this... but how is it so full of action but seems sooo boring to me at the same time? Strange :( Maybe it will get better soon for me 💋💋💋
