Ha, ha, it worked! I went on DF's website yesterday, and I told them, look, Viki has all of the actress' other popular dramas, so unless you wanna be scooped and lose this exclusive to them, it might be a good idea to get this up soon. Boom, the next day it is up! Let me tell you do NOT be afraid to voice your opinion because this is proof it works.
I love that the male student is smart but bad at test taking. He's my spirit academic animal. lol
I like both of the male leads, I have seen them before but like support or second leads, the girls I'm not too…
Girl, you know I am watching JH in Money Flower (which I commented on a few days ago by the way). I can't get enough of him, and I sadly keep watching Golden and Man Who Sets. lol BUT it would be nice to have a lighter drama as well especially with the holiday around the corner.
I really like the second lead female in Seo Won, and confession, I like her chemistry with Pil Joo. lol :P This is how you write a second lead female, and I love that actress a lot. She isn't perfect, but she has reasoning by the way she is acting. How she can love that idiot Boo Cheon still blows me away, but it is what it is. lol
JH was so amazing in the scene where he was visiting his brother's memorial. Oh, gosh, he had me sobbing. I just think he is phenomenal in this, and I love that the younger version of the character is a good actor as well. That was some impressive casting there.
Sometimes I wonder about if the female lead knows more than she lets on because she says things that are off-colored at times. Then, I say, nah, because she's supposed to be naive, right?
Also, WTH is with Mal Ran and Pil Joo? Did something happen between them when he was younger? Is she in love with him, obsessed? Definitely their interactions are strange, but I find them fascinating as well. lol
Just as they ramp up Jiang Chen's feelings for Xiao Xi, we lose my beloved Bo Song! Gosh, his confession on that stage had me sobbing. He is very easy to love, and it's not that I don't finally see some good in the first male lead, but Bo Song really is just truly special.
The actor that plays the part really should be playing first male lead in the future. I know he'll be back in some form though on this drama. If you're a fan of Bo Song, carry some tissues to watch Epi 16.
I'm interested to see them outside of school and in college. Def excited to see them in street clothes too.
I am a bit shocked she decided to do another type of drama like this, this year, but I don't blame Water God on the actors. It had a weird sub plot with the second male lead (did not work), and the writing was all over the place at times. The chemistry was never a problem for me JMHO.
That being said, I really adored him in Doctor Crush. Kim Rae Won is a good actor, and so I will definitely try this when the time comes. Shallow point I guess but I love his hair too. Kdramas frustrate me at times because of their hairstyles on the men (and yes it's shallow).
ITA about the cast especially the female lead because she felt like the weak link to me in Strongest. It'll be interesting to see if she can handle this part which seems to be kinder, gentler than what we saw there.
The main reason I liked season two was Uehara's growth. At the beginning of S2 I was annoyed because he was back…
Nao almost turned around before walking away that final time, and I think right there it showed she did feel something for him (tears were in her eyes). He said don't look at me though. I think at that point he was worried he would see pity in her eyes, but I don't think those were tears of pity but almost like why can't I have both but only give my heart to Uehara.
Her heart had already chosen Uehara long before anyone else, but she kept going back to Natsume as well even after that kiss. In fact, she never got angry at him right after he kissed her either time just more upset it could hurt Uehara, so part of her didn't mind it IMHO. I almost was thinking why didn't you slap him that second time Nao?
I think to her there was something very comforting about Natsume (you could get lost in his eyes), and that's what Uehara kept seeing when they were together this connection. She sparred with him as she only had with Uehara, and she was able to open up with him as well and sought him out repeatedly. Uehara no longer felt secure because he saw that same behavior with Natsume that she had initially with him.
Uehara watched them closely the first time he brought Natsume home, and you could see he felt uneasy, but still, he trusted Natsume. It was a very strange dynamic, but I liked it because I've experienced where my boyfriend's friend was like that with me, and it can happen. I think I suffer from Nao in that I'm friendly to a point where it can get me in trouble even if I see it as innocent on my part. lol One of my fave parts was her saying, oh, please don't like me because I don't want trouble. lol
ITA about Uehara finally progressing and showing his true feelings for her was nice. I thought it was so sweet when he secretly kissed her, but Saeko came and ruined it. He also had these amazing ways of hugging her especially when he started holding her head softly. And what's interesting is Natsume is the one that pushed for him to be honest about his feelings when Natsume was stirring the pot but almost using Uehara as an excuse. lol Then, the guilt started to seep in his heart, but Nao kept being the one to want to be around him, so he was at a crossroads.
I also liked that, a, Natsume had a conscious about what he was doing hence taking that beating by those guys because he was upset with himself for wanting Nao even though he couldn't help it, and, b, when it came down to it, he wanted them to be happy. He wasn't going to be so selfish as to begrudge them their love. It was refreshing to see that really because most of Uehara's female admirers could've cared less about Nao or even abused her (Saeko can be added to that list because she only gave up after he rejected her so meh to that one).
Definitely want another season! There's more story to tell here, and they kind of gave us almost half of what we got the first time, so I figure this was a test run to see how it went over with viewers again.
I watched this twice in the span of the last two months. From my perspective, this is how I felt each time.
First time I watched thanks to someone's advice down below (TY BTW) with just the second season and before that clips, and I was head over heels for Natsume. I had SLS to a maximum overdrive level. He is very charming, he is a good actor, and the way he looked at Nao at times really makes me melt. Those kind eyes kind of get me every time with these second leads in the "Kiss" type dramas with the exception of Taishi who really is just perfection. lol :)
THIS time I watched it starting on the 28th by binging both seasons, and I think that really helped put me back in the shipping mood for liking Uehara. He changed for the better this season (sweeter, kinder eyes, and even showed he had his own sense of insecurity which made you feel he was no longer taking her for granted), but the actor that plays Natsume is still very likable no matter what.
I just in the end felt the triangle ended the way it should have, and I don't believe she wasn't feeling anything for Natsume. She just was in love with Uehara, and so I liked how it ended a lot (him taking her hand was adorable).
My suggestion is to anyone who wants to watch who did watch the first season is to watch both versus just one because it brings you back to their romance versus just kind of plopping you back in the middle of new season. You get to see the progression of Uehara which is nice, and I feel Nao clicks with any guy. She just plays a nice mixture of vulnerability and sweetness that works for me even with the ditzy attitude she sometimes does display. And another thing that actress is one heck of a crier.
I hope they make a third one where they bring back Issei when Nao enrolls in school to be a chef. :) I also want Abe to get a love interest and Uehara to propose as well. 2020 is when they are supposed to move back into their old place.
I'm only on episode 8 and actually adore the second lead. He's so protective and kind to Xiao Xi. She's often…
I think the issue is that she's very open about wanting Jian Chen, and it can be hard to watch at times. Also, I feel that the second male lead actor is always allowed to show more in these "Kiss"franchise type dramas, but I really enjoy him a lot. He has a lot more story than the first male lead, and it's got a lot of depth to it.
May I ask did you see it subbed, and if so, where did you see it?
Aw, thank you for answering. I appreciate it. Oh, that stinking man pride!! I was so happy when she kissed him. lol I guess they were rumored to have been dating during this, and I believe it. They had amazing chemistry together.
It's Taishi, and he just has a way that makes you feel like you wanna root for his character. lol I have yet to say otherwise when watching him. Those lovely eyes just draw you in without fail.
I have never seen him before, but I like that this seems relatively mild in comparison to the heavy dramas that seem to be coming out towards the end of the year, and I like that trailer a lot. He looks really nice in glasses too (shallow thought).
I saw the first two episodes, and that first male lead playing the exec is very sensual/erotic, and I liked that they showed him in this emotional moment in bed which then you see his pain from his relationship being on the rocks. I kind of gasped because he was so gorgeous in that moment, but you could see watery eyes/sadness too. Clearly, he thinks something is going on with his man (who he has mad chem with regardless) and that annoying guy from work.
So people are upset he kissed the guy who saved him? I think he felt more wanted in that moment (taking a picture, saving him from drowning) than he had in his relationship in a while, and he was overwhelmed with wanting to show affection and genuinely receive it in return. Later, you hear in bed him say to his lover what role are playing right now when he was in bed with him.
Honestly, this beats out Max/Tul IMHO just because the kissing is not hurried but looks like a real relationship to me. I don't think we've seen anything like this yet. As usual Obsessed seems to real nail down this type of kissing, but this is even a level above what I think we've seen thus far.
I love that the male student is smart but bad at test taking. He's my spirit academic animal. lol

This is not my type of genre, but I like everyone involved in it, so I will probably try and watch it.
