totally agreed. there's barely any content of them in inferno doing the cooking, fetching water together which allowed for those natural connections to form more easily. i feel like it's just back to back paradise interactions... and barely any tensions caused by new arrivals.
i also don't have any ill feelings towards si an. while i definitely agree that screentime has been distributed so unevenly and it makes things super repetitive / doesn't give the others enough time to shine, i don't mind her as a person at all and don't really get the hate train saying she's a bad person etc. for me it's easy to empathise with them having to form attachments so quickly in a controlled environment and just with how things have panned out it's just been back to back paradise dates for her. of course girly is gonna be drawn towards whoever she's most recently interacted with most and it shows in this ep with her convo with theo since it had been a while since their last proper talks bc she's always whisked off to paradise. i think people have been a little too harsh towards her.
glad they're starting to become more and more aware jeongsu is just a sweet talker who only confuses people who show him interest. dongho and arin are the only pair i feel are truly meant to be... i gasped when it was revealed they were from the same neighbourhood too. i was not aware of junseo's game but good for him. at this point he and si an have most chemistry surprisingly esp seeing that she's least guarded around him (from theo's side it always feels too onesided for him so i feel bad, he deserves better), though from that preview i am not sure that will even work.
i was rooting for them to pick ki ha to join as the new guy especially as he seemed to vibe with the girls who haven't had much luck so far... instead we got yet another addition to sian's harem as he's not giving anything beyond that. she should just stick to theo, the flower ring moment was soooo sweet. jeongsu keeps giving me the ick more and more.
why did they have to ruin this drama at the very last moment... i've been slowly making my way through it and then heard the news about the propaganda they threw in during the final ep. don't even think i want to finish it now, ugh... i'm so immensely disappointed. it was doing so well until this.

i don't get the motivations of the boat captain at all, like did he not actually save junho or what? why aid him in the first place then when he could've left him to die and put a stop to any investigations happening at all? that whole "betrayal" felt so out of the blue lmao.
this really wasn't as awful as some people are making it out to be. yes it was underwhelming in parts, for example the intensity and suspense of the newer games, but not flat out terrible at all. i just feel it required 1-2 more episodes since the first two were mainly for buildup purposes. no complaints about that part though, loved hajoon's return and gong yoo was great in ep1.
beyond a little more insight into the masked workers we didn't really get any new "revelations" or new discoveries re: what goes on behind the scenes of the games like we did in s1 with the vips and the front man's identity, plus the organ trafficking aspects remain unexplained. more time to flesh out some of the new characters would've been good too. as a trans guy i did have my doubts about how they'd incorporate a trans character but hyeon ju was great and turned out to be one of my favs, one of the few s2 characters that i found myself really rooting for.

as triple star was my fave from the beginning, i'm really glad he got this far even if he just about missed out on the final spot. i've been super impressed by his leadership skills, the technicality and creativity he brings to his dishes and how he seems to shine under pressure; despite not having much experience with tofu, he did insanely well in the semi final.
the second semi final challenge honestly felt like a big showdown/final to me as i'd originally considered him and edward lee as my final two until matfia was announced as a finalist. so that narrowed it down immediately considering that i figured that it would end up being a black spoon vs white spoon finale in the end since the logo and the whole series seemed set up that way. i would've really loved to have seen/heard more of the stories of the black spoon semi finalists and their names although i get that it's the concept of the show for them to have to reach the finale in order to do that.
edward lee really stood out to me with his natural charisma and boundless creativity when it came to his dishes. i loved hearing his thought processes behind them. it was really heartwarming seeing him express his emotions in korean when reading his letter to the judges at the end and i loved his take on the finale dish so much.
