I want some more developed female characters with their own stories and personalities, but that seems hard to…
It's still airing at the moment but Mr. Sunshine is showing some really good strong female main characters so far

Title Mr. Sunshine Spoiler
That cliffhanger in ep 4 was almost painful... I do really want to see more of Eugene's sympathetic/protective (and also jealous, especially when he finds out about the fiance) sides come out as he reconnects with his homeland. And that preview makes me only fear for Dong Mae even more... the second (third?!) lead syndrome is real already...

I imagine a big proportion was spent on just paying Lee Byung Hun lmao

Wow.... a $27.8 MILLION budget for this drama, making it the most expensive Korean drama ever made... that's really something (although I can see why, I'm actually really enjoying it so far)

um hey y'all in the comments...pls stop seeing pedonoona as a good thing...cos it's absolutely not. any form of…
Agreed... people do it enough with underage idols as it is and it's still unacceptable for actors too (and also incredibly creepy). People would automatically find it disgusting if it was a case of grown men saying sexual things towards schoolgirls who are minors - I don't see why this should be treated any differently.

I'm Not A Robot wasn't a burnout to me. It's one of my favorite dramas. There's one more syndrome called the Can't…
I agree... I watched I'm Not A Robot with low expectations, just because I wanted something easy to watch and lighthearted but I ended up really enjoying it. Whereas I personally couldn't get into Goblin, DOTS, The Heirs, Legend of the Blue Sea, SWDBS, etc as much as other people did

Enjoyed the article even though I don't personally relate to a lot of the points mentioned... for example I'm personally largely very uninterested in dramas where there's very blatant amounts of eye candy in the use of idol actors, like in Hwarang. Moon Lovers was a weird exception that I ended up enjoying, however. Disappointed at the lack of JCW here though haha (I'm joking, it's just my bias talking) but I agree with LJG in Lawless Attorney for sure.

Sad that it's over! Thank you to the wonderful cast and crew for such an enjoyable drama : ) I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised with the ending - I was worried they'd be left with too many things to wrap up without everything being addressed
Old_Anime_Lady Jun 30, 2018
Haven't seen any of the main dramas you mentioned, but I agree with the mentions of Hello Monster and Chicago Typewriter.

Other honourable mentions for me were Choi Yoo Jin from The K2 (I felt like I rooted for her surprisingly even more than JCW, which really says something...), Jung Hyun Soo from Suspicious Partner, Lee Yoo Beom from WYWS and Judge Cha from the still-airing Lawless Lawyer.

My best Villain forever time The K2 : Song Yoon Ah (Choi Yoo Jin)She was so amazing in this drama, completly erasing…
Agreed, even though I'm a loyal JCW fan... I'd say she was the main reason to watch the drama. It had good potential but was ruined by the messy writing and lack of romantic chemistry

Great article. One of my favorite villains is the madam from the K2, I was so conflicted most of the time because…
Totally agree. Song Yoon Ah and JCW were the only redeeming factors in that drama for me personally...

Finally, the truth has been spoken. xDSometimes I don' get this poop/bathroom humour, which in some cases is really…
Glad someone else agrees... this was one thing that I really didn't like about SWDBS because they focused too much on it. The romance/chemistry was the only thing that kept me watching.
L0V3E Jun 17, 2018
Totally agree, especially with the smartphone thing, haha. I'd also like to add... for example:

- In occupation-orientated dramas it's often portrayed as though the main characters are part of the only law firm/police squad/hospital/company, etc in the whole city so all the work gets delegated to the same place without any acknowledgement of others existing in the area lmao

- This one really annoys me but the whole... unrealistically awfully timed almost-encounters where the leads miss bumping into/spotting each other, an antagonist, or someone else they're looking for by mere seconds or they JUST happen to be looking the wrong way... a classic would be if it happens in front of a lift, or if they disappear into a huge crowd before the other person notices... the worst examples are when this has been used as a way to create a cliffhanger ending that turns out to be avoided by the slightest diversion the next episode

- The whole split screen view panning to both leads thinking about each other while going about very similar daily routines at the exact same time lmao... what are the chances?

- Grown adults (I'm talking at least mid-late twenties) acting like teenagers when it comes to romance... I get that everyone acts differently in a relationship but this is true for a LOT of dramas... if they're almost 30 years old I highly doubt that they're going to be THAT shy about holding hands or make such a huge deal about the slightest contact with the female leads acting like schoolgirls over it... or just not doing anything beyond quick pecks in terms of kisses... I'm not expecting any full on bed scene but at least make it realistic....

Regarding the kiss scenes... they're definitely getting better in recent years but I largely agree. Certain actors are notably better/worse for it

Thank you for reading! I agree - I think the romance is pretty balanced here and incorporated in just about the right amount to fit well with the plot without diverging too far from the main action/law/revenge plot (as of Episode 8 now).
