rose is popular because of her confidence and high self esteem along with her beauty and what I meant is that she knows her strengths and weaknesses well and she does not choose men because of her insecurities, if she did she would not have dumped ZGD and blamed herself for all the issues or adjusted her life for him, if she found herself insecure she would have let FXW walk all of her and she would have resigned to the fate of being a housewife.....The whole point of the show is how an ideal woman grows in her career and how her views on relationships change overtime.....It all boils down to what she is looking for at a certain age, when she was young it was passion as she got older it was stability, I assume later on it will be love and lastly it would be a blend of all of these and someone who is more youthful

tbh if they didn't want it to come of as creepy then this could easily have been the plot to your average rom-com, its creepy to see how those shows have normalized these acts and call them romantic....Im so glad i was not the only one who was creeped out by what he did

I think i'll have to disagree with you on that, she knows her effect on men and she knows her own charms, she also has an amazing educational background and loving parents, in essence she was only lacking a relationship and the passion that comes with and she also wanted someone she could depend on like the relationship her parents have

I think there are 2 possible ends, either she finds love with someone at the end (4th younger guy most likely) or she learns more about her self and goes through a journey of rediscovery and becomes self sufficient and successful on her own

Wow, I honestly feel like regardless of whether they have parents or not it all comes down to how they were raised, even if they don't have parents if they were abused or had attachment issues they could still grow up to be clingy/possessive/manipulative/abusive

And if their parents raised them well then they wouldn't hesitate to protect you if they feel like you are being mistreated,

at the end of the day its all about communication and whether your partner sees you as an equal or not

I think she was always book smart, she herself says that she only aces the exams but doesn't know how to practically apply it, and honestly when it comes to your own issues you can't identify any red flags...Plus she is into child psychology and art therapy for special needs kids so maybe that could be one reason aswell?

Its so ironic when you realize that in a way yimei is the ZGD in her relationship with FXW...I remember empathizing with yimei when she kept suspecting him of cheating even though we as viewers knew he wasn't, and now when the same thing happens to yimei we instantly hate the guy for it TT....I think this shows why her relationship with either of them won't work in the long run because ZGD is open to change but she will never fully trust him and she will always be overshadowed by his achievements

whereas FXW just wants her as a trophy wife , he himself knows that she is too good for him and regardless of how rich or famous he becomes he can never escape the inferiority instilled in him, honestly i think they both would have made it if his mother was never in the picture, although he would have felt the same thoughts I don't think he would have voiced them out or acted on them if his mother wasn't there....

The first guy is purely because of love at first sight, he is extremely sophisticated and posh and screams rich, although she has it all she comes from a middle class family and both her parents are teachers but in contrast Zhang guo dong is extremely rich, speaks french, is good looking and also very passionate about her and another thing is how similar they both are, if you noticed he was also being chased by all the women in that company

The second guy is rebound from the first guy, if she met FX before ZGD she would never have even spared him a glance, after her terrible breakup with ZGD who was quite superior in comparison to her, she probably craved a relationship in which she felt stable, FX realized this and he kept saying things to assure her, another pattern I noticed regarding FX is how he used to always bring up issues to her parents and make her look like a bad person, and in response her parents would advise her to listen to him (he truly is a master manipulator)

If I had to compare the 2 i would prefer ZGD because through the previews and past episodes we know that he is open to change, when he did not introduce her to his parents and she expressed her displeasure he immediately corrected it, and although he prioritizes his career and life in paris he was always honest with her and never knowingly let his mom treat her the wrong way or interfere in their relationship, i don't think he would ever ask her to be a stay at home mom or give up on her dreams, FX is just plain manipulative he is not open to change and just sees her as a trophy wife which is truly appalling to watch

I'm not sure if what the two people were discussing the secret of his health tbh because if it was then they would know that he only has a few months left and that they wouldn't have been married in such a short time

Im starting to think that she will use zhang guo dong inorder to get a divorce since fang xiewen already has an inferiority complex concerning him and if she was to bring ZGD it would probably speed up the divorce process

I think what makes her more unlikable is how common her character is in asian households, I have heard of many in laws that prevent their daughter in law's from taking epidurals or other anesthetics during birth because of the backwards belief that it affects the child and shes also very stingy and marginalizes yimei by speaking in a different accent...In best choice ever i could atleast justify her actions as motherly love but here shes just plain nasty, I get that she has a backwards mindset because of where she lived but honestly i dont get how people have the guts to treat someone else's child like that

I feel like she has more experience with relationships and she is probably too tired to deal with his family after what she experienced, besides he is also one of the people who convinced her to leave her career behind and join him in paris, so i think she will probably not fall for him again and instead focus on rebuilding her own career

I think this drama truly shows how important it is to meet (and get to know) your future husband's family before getting married...I get so annoyed whenever the husband and mother in law show up and its primarily because i have seen all of this happen first hand, there are many mother in laws that constantly instill inferiority in their sons and there are many husbands that listen to their mothers to a creepy level, It was especially disgusting to see how they spoke in a different dialect when she was around and how they even denied her epidural

I just hope the daughter's custody goes to her because it would be nasty to grow up with that kind of grandma im sure the mother in law would bring up her mother's faults every time something happened to the daughter

I'm actually looking forward to the last (i think) love interest because by then she would have gone through a bad breakup, a divorce, the death of a lover and she would be at the height of maturity in the relationship and i'm curious to see what kind of person he turns out to be in order to manage making her fall for him again after all that she has been through
