It would be one thing if the SML actually had a real relationship with the FL but she never had any feelings for him romantically to begin with. If you like someone and obsess over them even though they do not have any romantic feelings toward you; in real life that is considered stalkerish and creepy. He really did not have a close relationship with the FL except through the ML so his obsession with her was weird to me. There are lines you should have in life. They were literally brothers. If the SML eventually moved on and got with his coworker at the end why could he not do that earlier? It is weird that they make it dramatic for him to move on from the FL because the FL never had any romantic relationship to begin with and always loved the ML. Because it is all for melodrama. You are right though he never really interfered with the leads relationship but he was obsessing over the FL which was weird to me. I agree that the ML fit NJ better and the FL fit the SML better though, but the show just did not go that route and made it so the ML and FL only had feelings for each other.

You are def right about your analysis of korean dramas, but that does not mean everyone has to like the same melodramatic tropes being done over and over again. I agree with a lot of what you said and like your analysis. My bias made me not like the SML and I may be an outlier. Not trying to argue, just giving my opinion. I enjoyed the drama overall and rated it an 8, i just had to skim through some parts because it was boring and uninteresting to me personally.

yeahhhhh...it is like he is kissing a mannequin and was def something i have never seen before lol. He was really trying too and her lips would not move at all LMAO. If she was uncomfortable kissing, they should have done less kissing scenes, but overall i do not mind that stuff too much.

nice lighthearted romantic comedy. I laughed out loud a good amount of times. But there were emotional moments as well. The friendship was beautiful to see. You do not see this kind of stuff in korean dramas. Pacing was great! Almost no melodrama. Loved this one a lot and highly recommend it. This show had so many good moments. The FL will not let anyone criticize or hurt her friends/BF and has such good moments defending them which you never see in Kdramas

Although, I do not know why they made the character with glasses such a repulsive person. He basically called the FL a slut twice. This happens early in the show. The FL denies him after his confession and he stalked the FL to get her game ID and made some weird fantasy in his head that he was dating the FL online when it was her friend. Like bro she dissed you in real life and has a BF, end of story. He is even a dick to the friend too because he's jealous. If he was going to be a main character, why did they make him do such repulsive things. It did not match with all the other main characters who were nice people. I skipped all his scenes. Even the main antagonist's character was not as repulsive as him. I didnt get why he got so many scenes. I loved how the FL met with him and shut his ass down after she found out though. She straight up told him he is a weirdo and bad guy and does not want anything to do with him and she "does not want to waste her time clearing his misunderstandings" because he is literally nothing to her and she is just a nice person.

He treated everyone that way. He did not judge her for being ugly, but for not being good at her job. He was incredibly stressed as if he did not do his job well everyone would get fired so he was a complete ass at work. Only when he got to know the FL did he realize she was a nice person and started to like her. He actually confessed before he knew she was his childhood friend and changed her looks.

The SML was a creep to me the entire time. He kept harassing the FL even though she made it clear she only thought of him as a mentor/friend. Is it her fault that she loves the ML? He even kidnapped her on a date after the ML proposed to her....Like the SML knew they the leads were in love with each other but he would not stop and they still show him being sad about it in the last episode? They never really had a close relationship to begin with. It was always a one-sided love but we are supposed to feel sad for him that the ML and FL who are childhood friends love each other.

But you are right, I never though about the FL's attitude change. Her adult character was completely sporadic and her actions were so conflicting while her childhood character was so caring and thoughtful.

after finishing it, I would not recommend watching. Like it really took til the last episode for the SML to accept that he and the FL were just friends....Dude was an absolute creep the entire show. We are supposed to feel sad for the SML that the ML and FL love each other? They had like 3 scenes of the FL rejecting the SML and he keeps going. They even put sad music and flashbacks of the time they spent together...when he said "goodbye" like WTF. The FL was very clear the entire story she did not like him romantically, so why do they keep showing scenes of the SML pursuing her. This happens even after the ML and FL kiss and confess to each other. How many times does a girl have to say No.

The ML and FL barely get any moments of their actual relationship and most of it is just build-up and most of the story focuses on a triangle relationship. Are we supposed to feel sad for a SML who cannot take no for an answer? The pacing was fast at first, but then it becomes repetition and the SML just keeps chasing the FL down to the last episode.

Could not agree more. The SML was a creep. The triangle was not as bad to me because at least the FL never considered the SML as anything more than an uncle/brother figure.

Edit: NVM i finished the series and the triangle relationship was absolutely disgusting. Even after the ML and FL started dating and have kissed; the SML continues to harass the FL and even goes as far as lying to her, kidnapping her to take her on a date. This is after he said he will give up on her. The SML is absolutely disgusting and selfish. He knows the FL has no romantic feelings for him and loves the ML but continues to harass the FL. I cannot believe episode 15 had the FL going on a "date" with the SML and he has the nerve to confess to her again afterwards. Like WTF is going on. They tried to make us sympathize with the SML giving up on the FL like it was his choice when the FL never had romantic feelings for him.

I could not agree more. I am so surprised this drama got such a good rating. i could not stand the 2nd ML getting redemption. He did nothing to deserve it.

That's why all these triangles are always two guys over one girl. Because the target is females! I was also wondering that since i recently got into kdramas and have been binging.

I think most people do not like it because who wants to see a ML be depressed for half the series with no progress and he keeps getting misunderstood by everyone. The FL is selfish and takes no interest in the ML until episode 10. Literally no interest, no care for the ML at all even though he is fawning over her like a dog and a bone. All of her emotions are due to her own self-interests and she really does not show anyone compassion, but she is supposedly a nicer person than ML who is stern on the outside due to his pain. The FL says "he is impossible to read" but takes no effort to actually try to understand him until it is right in her face. He obviously cares about her and wants to help her; why else would he sign the radio contract, but she does not take this into account and only sees ML at surface level for over half the series.

The ML basically acts as a simp for the FL which is also annoying to see and only after the FL sees him cry does she start to care for him. All everyone does is use the ML even the FL. When he finally tells the FL he likes her, she brushes him off. Even when she remembers him she brushes him off. Literally took til the end of episode 9 for FL to realize ML was the one hurting the most. Even after she kisses the ML and accepts his feelings, she still goes on a "date" with the SML and the ML even calls her and asks her to not do it but she says "ill do what i want", not taking into account ML's feelings. The FL is honestly grotesque in this story and i have not seen a worse FL in a romantic drama. Even after they are dating when the weird SML confesses to her, SHE ACTUALLY HAS TO TAKE A WALK TO THINK ABOUT HER FEELINGS and this decision actually hurts the ML. like WTF? are you kidding me....the ML is absolutely obsessed with her and her feelings are surface level. It is actually disgusting to watch. The actress is great but the character is badly written

You can sympathize with the ML and his traumas, but since there is no progress and he is treated like dirt for the first half of the show; you will lose interest. It feels like when things go wrong, the ML is always the one understanding and apologizing first. The moment when ML met FML mom was a good scene. She was the one person that tried to understand him and said he was a good person. It took til episode 5 for someone to care about his feelings and then right after the annoying SML comes in and ruins the scene. Like can we not get one touching moment with the leads? do we always have to do this BS triangle plot.

The leads are just flawed and hard to relate too. The ML suffers depression from never being able to do what he wants to do and being controlled by his mom and since he is in the spotlight he always has to smile and can never show his true emotions. I like it but the problem is they take too long for him to open up and for the first 6ish episodes his character pouts the whole time and no one understands him or even tries to understand him. The FL is focused on her own career and wants to be a writer and shows no interest in the ML for the first half. She is shown as selfish and kind of pathetic. then they have the producer who is egging the ML making him jealous and you have to sit through that BS which is just annoying to see. The only character you like in the beginning is the ML's doctor friend from gaus electronics who understands the ML and tries to help him free himself from depression.

How bad is the triangle? i am tired of BS triangle plots. I think in this one the FL likes ML's brother right? does this take up a lot of the plot?

i am 100% with you. im still waiting for love next door to finish. I have bad memory too so if i watch it weekly i be forgetting what happened or mix up the drama story with another one

yeah its tough to watch a pathetic ML for most of the series hes moping about the break-up. like is it that hard to have a conversation. they obviously still have feelings but wont talk about it and reconcile for 12 episodes because of melodrama...its one of those dramas you wish the ML got with the SFL who actually cares about him. They portray the SFL as a nice person and you feel sorry for her. The FL does change her tune around episode 9 and is more honest with her feelings but too little too late imo.

lol i noticed that too. i hate these kind of triangles though. that's your best friend's ex and he saw how destroyed he was from the break-up. i get in these romance dramas, they have these weird love at first sight moments, but man he was like his brother. its weird for him to have feelings for the girl his best friend loves. Like it really took a lady to basically tell him to consider the feelings of the leads for him to grow up. the leads obviously loved each other so his feelings never had a chance to begin with and that whole plot was melodramatic.

Slow story. Premise is ok, but the FL is not very likable. She dumps the ML literally like yesterday's garbage which they state explicitly lol. FL's personality makes it so she "doesn't care" while the ML was destroyed by the break-up. FL's aloofness about the pathetic hurt ML makes it tough to watch for most of the series. The FL changes her tune around episode 9 and starts to show her feelings for ML but I wish series ended with the ML getting with the SFL. They really show the SFL as someone you can feel for and like. SML is not very likable. he's mean to the intern due to his own complex and is in love with his best friends girl.

Overall i still very much enjoyed the show and would recommend watching it. It is a solid romance drama but just has all those melodramatic tropes that you would expect. like they finally get together around episode 12 and then all of sudden at the end ML wants to move for architect school and grandma gets sick and they have to do long distance. like what in the melodrama...I could not even watch the last episode fully and skimmed through it because the plot was annoying. the actors themselves were great, although the ML needs to work on his crying scenes lol. It is also weird that the ML did not reconcile with his biological father and decide to stay out of each others lives. Realistically it happens all the time, but it was kind of out of character for the ML and also does not make sense for the drama considering all the other stuff that happened like the SML reconciling with his mom.

how can you survive the wait lmaoo. if you don't start it you wont think about it, but if you watch weekly you gonna be hooked on the cliff hangers

again my life is similar with action. Not as much romance, no kissing scenes, but you have 3 FL crushing over the ML.
