you are right that the early 2 episodes are great and filled with suspense. after that it is just downhill..... so fast. the action elements and editing are just rubbish even for a chinese drama.

the worst plot so far for me is when the dad tries to make out with the robot at home and in the hall only to be caught by the son ..... i mean, this drama must not want viewership.

I feel you on the illogical aspect of this drama. the moment the ML wakes up with memories of his previous modern life, designs and makes a gun, makes weaving machines for the garments, rides a horse that crashed thru a warehouse door, the logic is just not there for this series.

As for the eggs, it takes 4-5 weeks also to make 1 century egg. Just imagine how smelly the house is like when its used to produce so many eggs :D

So this series is only good as a casual watch as a filler, I do not have high expectations or anticipation for it each week as compared to The Wolf Princess.

theres just alot more charm with this series in comparing with my heroic husband. also alot more awkward, lol and funny moments in this series too, so I do look forward to each episode of it each week :)

dropped this drama at episode 7, the story and plot is a very slow burn and lacks hook too. it is hard to really support the ML or FL due to lack of background or attachment to both characters.

i would rather they started this drama by providing the background of the characters, etc show the happy family moments so that viewers will grow attachments to the characters. instead it just started off with the death of the father and everything else is just a memory from individual robots or the ML.

the editing and action elements are also horrible in this drama. like it just cuts from scene to scene without any logic and seems to be a case of whatever they like they just throw it into an episode. so its very disorienting to watch.

The thing about this series is, its just illogical even from a script or plot point, especially when it starts as a script and then the writer just decides to change the ML into something else and transcend him back to ancient china with memories of his modern life that makes ML suddenly become a genius.

Its not exactly the same as romance of the tiger and rose which at least starts from a script writer going into her story and then tries to change the story.

You are right that this drama doesnt need a male god to play the role of the ML, because he is just so ordinary, short and really just acts dumb most of the time, not to also mention that he doesnt exactly have a face that ooze charisma or looks intelligent even. For his role, I rather the ML really have an intelligent look or at least some nerdy defects, think of ermm .... like dustin hoffman in rainman

Like i said, I am watching from a neutral point of view but after 12 episodes, there was not 1 laugh out loud moment for me in this drama, as compared to Exquisite Wolf Heart /玲珑狼心 .

Maybe because this entire series just tries too hard to make ML seem like a genius or heroic even. I do appreciate the interesting concepts like the blood test etc but also hated the brain farting moments like the horse crashing thru the warehouse door or the century egg invention and marketing concepts.

However as a neutral I will still continue to watch this series as a filler but only because of the FL isnt some silly cute looking character and the great support casts etc tian yu. So I am not saying that this drama is bad, its just that the ML choice is controversial, since he isnt exactly the best actor out there either.

tbh i have enjoyed this series so far until episode 8. this wolf concept and plot is interesting and there are many comedic moments without taking itself too seriously.

jason koo is convincing in his role and sells the comedic expressions and timings. connie kang having dual personalities is also interesting to watch.

in comparison to my heroic husband as a side by side newly launched historical costume drama, this is much suited to my preference, at least the cinematography and ost is already winning.

after 12 episodes theres nothing to suggest that ML is like some acting god or had me going like wow this is next level of acting. the plot is okie but its not exploding comedy, its more interesting concepts than hilarious.

maybe it will appeal to its fan base but from a neutral point of view this is nothing more than a filler.

from a neutral point of view for a historical costume drama, at least Exquisite Wolf Heart /玲珑狼心 got better cinematography and actually tells a story instead of the script writer plot in my heroic husband /赘婿, which is just silly in so many ways. so for the neutrals, the reason to watch this series is clearly not for the ML but for the FL.

decent story plot but really ordinary looking ML, if theres really nothing else to watch this will serve as a comedy filler.

in the anime its quite a funny scene, he makes sausages appears from his palm and gives them to be eaten by his team mates.

i mean the whole making sausages and having to eat them is funny and awkward.

his power is food support class. he will make sausages that will add buffs for anyone that eats them. at least thats the anime /novel version.

After 11 episodes, obviously there are difference between the anime version, but what is most glaring is the support /villain cast. The anime version support cast was more colorful and drawn character matches the personality. it was easy to like the support casts and the villains looks cool too in the anime.

Maybe its the costume set for this drama as all the characters are in bland /dark colors etc dark blue, brown, grey.

For most of the fans of this series the novel /anime beats the drama hands down. However if you have no background or knowledge of the novel /anime and watching it as it is, its a decent series but obviously it will need to be carried by ML and FL. The story /plot of this series is obviously decent, it is afterall a very popular novel /anime but this series is just too long to end in 40 episodes, so a season 2 is to be expected.

Season 1 will likely end with the shrek 7 devil team winning the competition, xiao wu leaving tang san to escape from the spirt hall and the shrek 7 going their own way.

first thing i look at when ml appears on screen is that mole on his nose. maybe thats why FL also keeps looking at him.

I think i need to watch go go squid to understand this series. The dialogs and lines are so bad and cringe thou.

The hook just does not exists for me since its making references to part 1, also battling robots seems way too nerdy.

obviously in 40 episodes it will be not exactly like the novel and anime, already in episode 1 there are differences.

but still the hook is good for soul land /doulou continent, also seems like there is no voice dubbing for ML too, that is at least refreshing for a cdrama.

in the novel /anime, this is a long process and actually xiao wu is a 10 thousand year soul animal and gave up her life to protect tang san and allows her soul to be consumed by tang san

the drama adaptation for episode 1 is already different. since the skills he used were from memories of his previous life in the novel and anime.

but he was born with 2 souls, so at least based on this it is the same. he will be going to the academy next to work on enhancing his skills with those 2 souls.

only reason for me to watch this is Wang anyu.

As much I want to watch judy qi as a main role, but its harder to watch kris fan as a straight face, expression less type ML. I much prefer him in roles with character /personality etc qing qing zi jin, where he plays a genius bandit king.

The hook is also weak, when it starts with a mma type of subject matter with the ML as a CEO that will be taking over the gym that FL dad owns.

Story is not the same as strong girl bong soon as someone suggested in comments. At least that series is cute and fun to watch with a good hook from the start.

In episode 1, FL has "saved" ML 3 times. But FL isnt a mma fight, FL is just a normal person whos dad owns a gym, but of course she trains for it and in a selection where its all guys except for her as the only female, she gets the bodyguard job, just to be close to ML so that dad wont lose the gym.

Then for reasons unknown FL is also the secret healer in the clinic that ML goes to to get healed for his lack of being able to feel emotions. In that clinic, the device goes into mishap and ML can feel FL's pain. So you can imagine the slapstick comedy when FL gets hit, ML feels the pain, when FL gets mensuration pain, its ML that hurts.....

Also FL was clearly the person that saved ML during the accident when ML was in the car with his mom that passed away.

So the reason to watch this is if you are a fan of this ML and FL pairing. Chemistry is just average. This show just lacks logic or a decent hook plot and dialog for me.

like i said in my replies above, this source is from character set write up in baidu when series is launched. it has since been removed but if she does marry yin xiao then its just a tragic love story. it has happened for cdrama have FL marrying 2ML.
