if you are just counting mdl likes on mdl actress profile, how zhou dong yu is there with 385 MDL hearts only while the likes of shin se kyung with 1800 hearts on mdl isnt listed.

seojin purpose = close friend to se yeon and suho, enemy to friends with jukyung, 1 sided crush on jukyung.
soojin purpose = close friend to jukyung, friendship betrayal, 1 sided crush on suho.

I am not sure what seojun fans have been watching, but it was a time skip to 2 years and jukyung just got drunk, to even say that seojun "takes care" of jukyung for 2 years is implying that jukyung is not an independent person and constantly requires care all the time for the last 2 years that suho isnt around.

So lets get the rules of love /romance in True beauty drama world out of the way. Time is never an element to DEMAND that love happens. soojin 10 yrs beside suho, seojun 2 yrs beside jukyung (they are not even together, not even like dating or staying together and jukyung isnt handicap or in hospital or mentally retarded). Friendship over time does not equates or changes to love in true beauty world, period. So seojun fans should stop bending the rules.

Seojun and Soojin have both served their purpose, they had alot of scene time too, if you looked at episode 14, there are memories of both seojun with jukyung as well as soojin with jukyung. Seojun will become a singer and adored by many fans, he is always surrounded by friends, that is not a loner or pathetic guy. For soojin it remains to be seen if there is an arc after 2 yrs.

But imagine not having these 2 casts, those scenes would not had exists, In true beauty world, they had such high value and viewer attachment. It will most certainly boost both cast's acting career.

even the webtoon has not finished, so its likely the drama version should be open ended? it remains to be seen what happens, but I will miss the cast and series when it ends.

But to confess one's feelings to another just for self interest of moving on is just wrong. Its considered as selfish especially when its his friend's girlfriend.

So I am not onboard with your comment that made it sound like in this drama seojun should just recklessly confess and paying no heel to his friend suho's feelings.

Even the drama was careful to make sure seojun asked suho permission in episode 14.

Its was good for me because that was such a special break up scene. I even laughed at how unique it was.

Not every break up is sad, if you look at how its done and the comedic value.

i mean if the plot is to have a normal life, avoiding the palace is priority number 1. yet being grown in the palace just to escape the palace, nothing much needs to be said about plot :D

I thought long and hard how I should response to this as well as your response to other posts in your thread, because you seem youngish in your concept of drama and acceptance. So my response might be a little long.

To begin with, I must again reiterate that your shipping of a couple does nothing for the drama.

You kept the arguments and criticism of the ML and FL pairing to "too much drama" but yet fail to see their growth amidst the drama. Do understand that both ML and FL are teenagers, its their first relationship, its never going to be smooth sailing, that's the dramatic effect.

ML having guilt issues, insecurities, possessive over his first love (not from a traumatic past), while FL have self esteem /confidence issue due to her looks, does not know how to manage girl /boy relationship, insecurities etc is seen as too dramatic. But only with possible flaws can there be probable growth. So this series created such character traits but it also shows how the characters copes, manages, resolves and grows from it.

Even in real life such flaws exists, its really how its being coped with or what support elements /circles are available to correct such "defects". Many times without identifying such flaws or defects, many teenagers bring it into their adulthood. That's also why you see in reality the divorce rates, the domestic violence and the communication issues that exists for some adults.

Again this is just a drama, for dramatic effect, the script determines that 2 imperfect character will be together, find growth, gains ability to deal with their issues, better understanding of each other and find happiness.

If you are looking for a drama that has 2 perfect characters that gets together from episode 1 to end of series. Then clearly this is not the drama for you. Not all dramas are created equal or suit every individual taste but there will always be a drama for everyone.

If a certain drama brings out uncomfortable emotions like frustrations, over whelming sadness, fear etc then it is time to drop it and watch something else or just wait for the ending and be done with it. But drama watching is also a skill that grows, the more you get triggered, the higher your tolerance becomes.

you missed joon woo and Hee Gyung break up at the traffic light, as well as joon woo hiding behind the banner while hearing that hee gyung is going for dinner with a guy friend. those were the best scenes for me in ep 13.

whats unpredictable was the other secondary couples. but suho with jukyung is always going to be a given, just not the issues that they faced.

That is why the high school theme is an appropriate timeline for this drama. Teenagers at that stage are generally confused and learning how to cope with things in their life.

Its a drama, if there are no dramatic issues and both ML n FL are healthy without problems, its a different show. Just because the ML and FL has flaws, they should not be dating or falling in love seems to be a bad plot for a rom-com drama, i think.

Even in reality there isn't such perfections, every relationship has its problems, but to have problems and not coping, growing or dealing with them then such relationship is doom to fail.

Maybe I am not at that age of fandom and shipping couples as this is just a drama that I am watching because it has many emotional triggers and is easy to digest. End of the day this drama ends in another 3 episodes, ship or not to ship doesnt change that its ending.

for rom-com, the moment the lead casts and poster is made, its already predictable. what are viewers watching for then? the comedy and the romance process of course.

for a twist and a dash of unpredictability, maybe watch some mystery, thriller or suspense dramas.

what's there to hate in this drama?

there's always something happening in every episode, there's comedy, bromance, romance, families relationship, friendship, morals, social values, nice costumes, great casts and production values too.

if you think that its just based off the shallow trope of ugly girl being pretty with makeup and winning the good looking guys, then you haven't really watched this series.

end of the day, its free to watch and drama viewers just choose to watch whatever international programs they want these days. not every drama is suited to every individual taste, but there's always a drama for every taste.

personally I recommend the 3Ds of dramas principles "Dont like, Dont watch, Dont comment". also its a drama not reality, this drama does tread on some real life issues, but one must know how to draw the line between drama vs reality.

if one is uncomfortable with the subject matter of any drama, then avoiding it is best, etc if watching horror or graphical violence disturbs or makes you uncomfortable, such dramas should be avoided.
